If your a strategy and roller coaster lover then you must buy this game. Appart from the poor graphics I loved this game. The sounds are actually recorded in the heart of a theme park. I am in love with this game. It's fun for the kids and the adults. If you're looking for your first game buy this. It lasts a long time with campaigns that start form easy to difficult. I am currently looking forward to the release of Roller Coaster Tycoon 2, if you want to buy this then you should buy RCT first because RCT2 is an expansion.

This game beats all other theme park simulations. It is a little bit difficult to play at first, but once you know how, it is extremely fun. After a long period of time, it finally becomes boring, but if you go without playing for a while, then come back and play again, it is fun for a while. The scenarios are mostly easy, but they are boring. The first few ones are fun, but they soon focus more on being challenging(which they don't suceed on), than making it fun. The only things I dislike about the game in general is you cannot build arcades and such. Overall, this is a fun and easy game, with many rides and roller coaster styles.

I know, What planet am I from?, but I just recently started playing RCT#1 and think it is great but I really want to master building my own rides and the challenge is to make sure your entrance and exit buildings work and gates etc. Just started excavating land and water. Water rides??? OMG Tutorial sucks and doesn't help you blueprint well enough to design coasters.The whole concept is great maybe I have to try expansion or newer versions

YOu can waste your money on this game or spen a few extra dollars on the second one. The second one has more rides and is easier to control.

this game is so much fun ! ! ! it is just so great ! ! ! this ranks as high as sims which is my all time favorite game ! ! ! i love it ! ! ! it is so addictive ! ! ! i can ' t wait to get the expansion packs and all the other games ! ! ! would i recommend it ? of course ! ! ! if you don ' t have it now you should get it soon ! ! !

You know, when i first saw this i thought it looked like Sim City, which i think is a ok game but it gets so boring and after a while it gets dumb. But I went over to my neighbor's house and saw Roller Coaster Tycoon for the first time. Its awesome. I'm Going to probably have to force myself to stop playing it though because its so addicting. You just always want to add more on to your park and get more guests. In the game your given levels. Each level has a challenge. They give you a certain amount of money, (sometimes you can add on loans), and a certain amount of time to get so many guests and have a certain rating for your park. In the ride department you can choose from either pre-packaged things or build your own roller coaster's, trains, monorails, log flumes, and more. You can also add restaurants and mostly anything you can have in a theme park. Also, if you keep a level for a certain amount of time you get more attractions and rides and restaurants. The roller coasters range from regular wooden, to steel, to one support steel, and any roller coaster you can think of, its awesome. It may be a strategy game, But its better than any shooter or RPG that i've ever played. BUY IT!

I think that this game is fun. If you have a Compaq Computer Win.95, 98 you can't buy it because it won't fit. The other computer are o.k. I think this game is better then the expansion because it has a better graphic. First when I play the game, it is fun. But when I'm still playing it gets boring because you always need to babysit the guests. Then when you done, you have to wait until your object is finish. So I would give this a 4 and a half because it is not that fun at the end. I put five because you can not put down four and a half. So if you like roller coaster and go to amument park, this game is recomended for you.

Roller Coaster Tycoon is a great game it is hard but fun. You people who a really happy, really mad, or really sick! You see your park grow from 8 people in your park to 800. Its really fun. I play it all the time. Its my fav game ever.
