Although, Graphics, sounds and everything else is flawless as usual, the game is way to predictable if you have played Myst and Riven previously. Please give me a game that's really challenging. Way overpriced if you ask me, sorry.

Better off Waiting for the price to go down.

I bought real Myst for $... having been drawn in by the amazing graphics and simplicity of gameplay. It was fun and the graphics were amazing. I stayed up late playing it a few nights. The only problem is that it doesn't last long enough to get your moneys worth. A game that is $... and up should have a lot of gameplay, and while this takes a bit of time to beat it should take more. Wait a year or two to buy it and see if the price goes down, or borrow it from a friend.

An improvement on perfection...

Excellent graphics. You actually feel like you are in Myst and its ages. The sky changes colors from day to night. The ages are more animated and beautiful. And you can look in any direction at any time. The best part--a new age to explore!!!

Amazing!!!

I bought this game and all I can say is WOW! The graphics are the best in ANY computer game to date, and it's still like the origanal Myst, one of my favorite computer games. I have heard people saying it can't run on their system, and my recomendation is to download the demo and see if it would run ok on their system before buying it. I have a P4 1.4 Ghz w/ an NVidea GeForce 2 Ultra and 512MB ram, and it runs perfectly on almost any resolution (as expected). Another problem people might have is that this game is EXTREMLY hard, so if you didn't like the origanal Myst of you don't like puzzle games in general, then you probably won't like this. However if you liked Myst then buy this game now, it's the best 30 bucks you'll ever spend on a game.

works on Vista but required lots of experimentation and Googling

Just bought this game used (thanks goodwillbooks!). I eventually got it working under Vista 32-bit, but I had to use windows NT compatibility mode (win 95, 98, 2000, and XP compatibility modes did not work even though those are the operating systems this game is made for).

The graphics are great and work well on a modern computer. It's 2008 now; most complaints are from 2000/2001. Some people find this version harder to control due to the 3D graphics, so if you've never played Myst before, you may want to buy the 10th anniversary edition instead. If you have played Myst before and enjoyed it, then you'll probably enjoy revisiting the Ages in 3D.
