BEST GAME EVER

This game I would have to say is the best game I have ever played. (And i play alot of games). You just get hooked because it is fo much fun! I have been playing it for 2 years and still not sick of it!!!!!!! It is so much fun because you can meet people all over the world. There are always different challenges. Many different maps to play and mods that you can download. There are alot of cool guns you can play with. In conclusion I really encourage you to buy this game.

I must say Counter-Strike on its own is great, and this game is superb. Weapons are modeled closely to the real ones, and while some do have differences, I'm not one to complain. The Visuals are surprisingly splendid, and the variety of multiplayer levels is great. Sound effects are excellent, and while there really isn't much music, that's really okay.

However...Sierra didn't take much time worrying about debugging, this thing. It crashed constantly, sometimes in the middle of a game, othertimes while connection to a server, or while playing, or when you're at the main menu. Another problem, regardless of how high your specs are above the minimum requirements, you can still suffer from severe Latency (or lag) problems. The lag can be crippling for deciding the outcome of the game too. For instance, one can actually "lag out" and as long as they keep clicking keys to move, they will not move fluently through the level, rather their body will simply jump to locations so as to keep up. Anyone every try hitting a target that can simply appear and disappear? Not easy.

Then we come to another flaw. You need the patch downloaded to run the game, and Counter-Strike.net only links you to sites that have it. Most will be page cannot be displayed, or be in some foreign language. Of the ones that you can actually download from, the rates are very low, and considering the patch is 150 meg (approximately) on a slow bandwith it take quite some time.

Cheaters are another problem altogether. True, you can enter games with hack prevention, but there are times when all of those servers will be full, or unable to load. Not everyone cheats, but the kinds of cheats there are available are staggering. Instant head shot, no matter where you shot, see through walls, another that has enemy players name appear over there heads.

That about does it, this game is full of errors, latency problems, hackers, and more besides, but if you can overlook that, there is a great online game inside. I suggest trying it out first.

This is a awsome game! But you dont have to spend the money to buy this game jus get it downlode it off online! All you need to do is buy halflife and download this! You can also download other great half-life games like day-ofdefeat ( dod) and Team Fortress. I think Counter-Strike is the best but it's al good.....

CS is one of those products that is really great, but there is 1 or 2 problems that hold the fun back. Yes, it's very addictive, and, like one of the other reviewers stated, 3 or so hours will seem like 20 minutes or whatever when you come up for air and check the time. The only real reason that I am giving this game 4 stars is for it's bugs. Right now, the latest version of CS is 1.5, and soon there will be 1.6. But since v1.4, bugs have started to appear more frequently, like connection problems (not lag), server errors, crashes, and ever since I installed the 1.5 patch, I haven't been able to play. I run off off a 56k with onboard graphics, 160mb of RAM, and a 466MHz Celeron, and for the most part it runs OK, but now when I join a server, at the last second before the console screen scrolls up, my computer just restarts. I have reformated my hard drives and tried the recommended fixes, but it only worked once and then it started again. I also emailed Sierra and Valve but recieved no response. My freinds don't have this problem, so it *may* be my bug-tastic crash-prone torn-apart eMachines computer. Still, if you like multiplayer FPS's, get this one. Lots and lots of people play it, but just remember that there is a .1% chance of something going wrong (at least with v1.5).

hello this game i have not playd i will be playing this soon i heard it was great free of download yes but what about virus bugs errors not good buying it for ... saves you from all that its a great game to have if your a fps nut i am a expert at these games and i will have to say i dont like unreal tournament its great mutlplayer action but theres realy nothing good for it say mods,skins,weapons and the main missions are [substandard] it does not even have a story line but counter strike is based on killing and shooting those that are evil will thats all i have to say

Yes, this is a great game if you like team playing shooting games. But if u dont have a connection of 56k or lower FORGET IT! I have this game and I also run on a 56k modem and it takes me forever to get into a game and when i do most the time im really laggy. If i could get cable or dsl i would enjoy this game much better. I still try to play it because its a great game and its addicting, but if u have 56k or lower i would think of not buying it because it will just make u very angry trying to play it, trust me! :)

this gaame is the best game out . it is so fun and it is really cool. u get to choose servers and u get to choose one and not let the computer choose 4 u.

well...what bothers me is the graphics. i know this is a very old game....but still ick the graphics are really bad actually....the graphics are similar to some early playstation games ive played...man i cant stand it.
