dont think about it buy it. then download gamespy and i'll play you soon. the controls are the best setup ive seen and the player community is great. if you have a question you get an answer. lots of gun selection and great extras. and the other effects you'd have to buy it to enjoy it. anything else check out www.counter-strike.net. if you download you have to have halflife. if you buy this you dont need half life.i dont need to list some o the features cause other people already have. the nice thing is, is that you are playing against other people from anywhere.

Beware of screen surfers!

To let you know screen surfers are people that use the map to find people and slaughter them. This is the greatest FPS ever exellent graphics great guns everything is great. If you are going to play online you need to be really good or have an invincibility code because if you don't you'll be blown to bits like me.

Dont even bother reading about other games, or upcoming games. CS is it. The pinacle of online gaming. Granted Im a gun freak...but this is the peak of gaming enjoyment. CS will never ever get old, and if your psycho about every aspect of a game..then Cs will allow you to change anything...from gun models(there are people who make models that have literally 10 times as much detail as the default ones) and you can replace sounds,and then theres the voice communication...I could go on for days. But my point is CS will never ever get old to me. Every round is different, no game is ever the same. And it being the number 1 online game worldwide helps its status. I want "Counterstrike was his life" written on my tombstone.

This is the best multiplayer game i have ever played. You get to take on the terrorists where you get to hold hostages and prevent the counter terrorists from getting them or you get to try and bomb a target. On the other hand you can be the counter terrorists you get to rescue hostages or you can prevent the terrorists from bombing a site. But there is one question. Why would you go and pay for it when you can go and download the same game off the internet for free. You can find it basically anywhere. Just make sure you get this excellent game.

This game may not have the best graphics or most compeling sound, but damn is it fun. When I first started playing I thought it was really challenging, but once I got into it I slowly became completely obsorbed with the game. This is a must have for any action game lover.

I really think this is is cool. Because there are two teams(Counter Terrorists and there's the Terrorists). You go around the map searching for the other players on the oposing team. The Terrorists get a bomb and they can plant it to win that round. You buy weapons and shoot and kill the other players. I think it's really cool and I eardge you to buy the game.

Ok. I've been a gaming fan for a long long long time. I bought half life when it came out, and i heard about this new game called counter-strike. So after a while, I bought it and started playing. I got so frusterated at first because it was NOTHING like the other first person shooters i've played. But thats because its LIFELIKE! After a while, you learn how to stay out of the middle of gunfights and play a tactical, skillful game. After a week or so of practice, you'll see why counter strike is one of the best games in existence. If you like life-like games. GET THIS! If you don't.. STILL GET IT! It is great! You will become addicted like me.

This is the best on-line multiplayer mod (or game) out there. HL has more online players than Quake3 and UT COMBINED!! i play it 4+ hours everyday it rocks..trust me buy it or dowload the 80+ meg file :):):):):)

This is simply the greatest game I've ever played. I never bought the retail version, but it's the same game I've been playing since I first downloaded the beta versions of the game. I can't express enough how great this game is. If there is anyone out there who enjoys some good fps's, enjoys awesome gameplay, and appreciates a masterpiece of a game. THIS IS IT!!!! I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!

Rarely does one encounter a fan-based modification that actually surpasses what the original game sets forth. However this is defintely one of them, if not the best of them! This mod blows away the regular multi-player HL bigtime. Also, since it came out, nearly every other FPS that was decent seemed to spawn similar C-S based mods for their engines (UT). However, none of them even compare to this one - that is probably why the developers of HL actually ended up packageing it! Nuff said.
