Another Expansion

Well, to tide us over in anticipation of the Spore release, another Sims Expansion has been released. While I am pretty much getting bored with the Sims, I still enjoy killing a few hours delving into my Sims' lives. I gardened so much with my first guy, that he turned into a Plant person. This was great, for a while anyway, because all I had to do was supply him with enough water, light, and love. I had as much time as I wanted to max out all my skill meters, which was his lifetime aspiration. Then I made a plant baby, but then I got bored, because it was so easy to keep them happy. I turned half my home into a greenhouse, and put in a sun lamp thing, so sun was not a problem. They can take a bath or go splash in puddles to satisfy thier water needs. They talked and talked to their plants, and each other so the love was never a problem. I turned my plant baby-- whom I named Iris - it seemed fitting -- :-) into a normal person with the potion I got from the garden club lady, and then she moved out and I played her through, and she just died yesterday, so now I feel pretty bored with this expansion already. No reason to get excited about this expansion, unless you really get excited about Sims' having the ability to splash in puddles, play catch, go fishing and wear coats and hats. Some new walls and carpets were added, that I liked.......I especially like the rooster stuff, it added a very "country" feel to my Sim's house! You can even design a barn, if you are creative. I wish we could have horses and cows and chickens!!! I did sell some fruit and vegetables, since I have the business expansion as well. I grew Lemons and Oranges on the fruit trees, and strawberries and cucumbers in my garden. They also make good gifts which is another added option in the expansion, you can give items in your inventory as gifts. I love the snowman building and the little penguin that comes and talks to your snowman. I wonder if you can adopt the penguin?? I will play it more, but honestly, I am just killing time until SPORE comes out!!!!!!

great! but...

Yes this is the new Seasons expansion pack for your Sims2 game. No problem with the install. It does slow your machine down, expespially when it loads the Weather for your lot. It sort of freezes up and then resumes normal operation. But overall I guess it's ok. I will need a new laptop for the next expansion pack.

The best pc game in the world

Seasons, worth the money?

I was really looking forward to this particular EP. Maxis put a lot of hype on Seasons and made it seem as if this would be the EP to end all EPs. The fact is you can get through all four seasons in an hour and a half and if your Sims don't have a lot of money or skill (and you aren't into cheats) there isn't a lot to do. The new objects and gardening plots are really expensive and require a lot of time. Sims over-heat and freeze way too easily and the Simkids get taken away left and right. Overall the game was a little bit of a let-down and somewhat frustrating, I think it would be especially frustrating to someone new to the Sims 2. I felt like I needed to give Maxis some bonus points for all their hard work though. It took massive amounts of programming skills to get snow to fall on anything that might be outside, and they do have plants that grow better in the right seasons but maybe it would have been better if they hadn't made such a big deal about it.
