Great game if you love hack-n-slash!

I used to be a huge fan of Rogue and Nethack. Although simpler in many ways, this game reproduces some important parts of those games, with great graphics to boot. It satisfied my urge for a simple D&D hack-n-slash game with great gameplay, spell effects, etc. Good for countless hours of mindless amusement.
A good, simple, fun, violent game.

It's a great way to bash, shoot, and fry demons and monsters. Game basics aren't very original; Tunnels of Doom for the TI 99/4A looked a lot like it in '82. But the graphics and multiplayer aspect make it stand out.
Straightforward and to the point...

This is an RPG stripped of the roleplaying elements and reduced to a hack-and-slash. But it's a _fun_ hack-and-slash, and that's what matters, right? There's a nice variety of baddies to go after, especially if you buy the Hellfire add-on. Don't buy if you're prone to repetitive-motion injuries, because you'll be clicking the mouse nearly constantly throughout much of the game; and watch out for cheaters in the multiplayer arena. But take it for what it is--a fun romp through a dungeon full of monsters carrying around gold coins for no obvious reason--and you can't go wrong.
Yep, I've played it and can't think of a better title

Enjoy this one thoroughly. However, graphics aren't nearly as detailed as other games I've played; bird's-eye view is limiting, and the sorcerer character has no chance in hell of surviving past the first levels to where his abilities could be considered an advantage. The Rogue and the Warrior are great fun, however, and the game can be played over and over before it begins to be dull.
Revolutionary gamer!

Diablo was very exciting with different levels of single and multiplayer playing. The game offers a revolutionarily new game engine and battle engine. The quests are simple enough for a six year old, yet complex enough to captivate older audiences. The Blizzard multiplayer option allowed me to keep in touch, through playing and chatting with my friends from all over the world. Our altered egos (characters) would stay in town square and hold a conversation, or could fight side by side or against each other in combat. I give this game very high rankings.
Addictive until you beat it, but not much replay value

For two or three weeks after I installed "Diablo," my forearms ached with repetitive stress pains caused by too much "Diablo." (I was playing on a laptop, and the need to use the shift key, both mouse buttons, and the touch pad was stressful.)
When I made it through the dungeon and confronted Diablo, he thrashed me, no matter how I tried approaching him. So I started at the top of the dungeon with the same character, bulked up a bit more, and acquired the armor and weapons I needed. When I faced Diablo the second time, it was a cinch to beat him.
And now, the prospect of going back through as a different character class and having to work up to the level of potency I just experienced isn't all that thrilling, especially when I've moved on to "Starcraft."
The problem is that much of the lower levels of "Diablo" is repetitive: you have to go forward a bit, lure a few monsters after you, retreat, kill the ones that follow, and repeat the process until you clear an area. The combination of Death Knights and Advocates on level 16 isn't formidable once you get the hang of how to deal with them, but it still takes hours (literally) to clear the level.
GREATEST

Best game on the market when it came out. I spent an entire vacation playing this game. I got my wife hooked on it and ewe both have played it for 3 years. I am usually bored to tears with a game in a few months. This lasted for 3 years and well....now it is losing its glamour....but I have informed my boss I am taking a couple extra days off when DiabloII hits my computer
Single Player is fantastic.. but..

Single player is fantastic, but playing Diablo online (multiplayer) is terrible. Cheaters and hackers have ruined online gameplay, the only way to survive is to cheat as well (godmode+more). It's not much of a game after that. Good News though, Diablo II should be cheat/hack free.
Read my review, it's the best

Diablo may be the best game ever made. You start out as a warrior, rouge or wizard. You have come to the small town Tristram. Tristram has been almost destroyed by the Black Knig looking for his son. The Lord of Terror(Diablo) has kidnapped his son and his using his body. You start out with about 100 gold pieces. You can talk to Griswald(metalsmith) farmham, wirt, adria or cain the elder. U journey into the laberbith and kill baddies but be careful!
The best game I ever ever played,(get the add on!)

I love this game! It is awesome! I got it and showed my friend and then he got it and showed it to his friend...and so on. The multiplayer is fabulous. I can't wait until the sequal comes out!
