Its still in beta people.

I felt I must post and defend this game. There are alot of people posting saying the game is no good. But it is still in beta so how do they know it will not be a good game? I know the "its a beta excuse" doesnt hold much weight with most people but give me a break. There are people saying its the worst mmorpg ever! I have played DAoC, AO, AC, and UO. so far this game is already better then DAoC and AO IMO. At release It whould be about as good as AC was. But it isnt near as good as UO was in the early days. No game since has had that kind of content and role playing. Still its not fair to compare to UO becuase this isnt really in the same catagory as UO. they are 2 totally diffrent games.

I have played the beta for about 2 months now. I really like the game.

First thing that is good(everyone agrees on this) is the graffics.

Combat: Simular to DAoC as far as tehre are special skills you can use when fighting. There are many more unique skill them in DAoC though.

Content: there isnt much content as of now.(it is beta after all) I am not worried about content though becuase AC had very good monthly updates and I expect alot from the updates in AC2. Most of the quests really just seem to be testing the quest sytem. There isnt much story behind them there like; go there, do this, then go do this, this and this and get this out of it. But the accuall machanics of the quests do work.

Items: Crafted items seem the best. especially crafted weapons. they have higher damage for there level then you normally find as loot. There are quite a few enchanted weapons to be found in the game but again, this is beta expect alot more added later. They have a live team dedicated to adding items ,quests and overall content.

Fun factor: The game is fun. Combat is fun especially when you get to a higher level whre you have alot of skills to use. The leveling is WAY to slow at this point. It seems that they went from way to easy to way to hard to level. Hopefully they will find a nice medium soon.

Overall the game is solid. All I care about is haveing a playable fun game at release. Hopefully they fix most of the balance issues by the end of beta. I admit there are problems but not nearly as bad as the haters make out. This will be a solid game after release. When the updates start rolling in everymonth alot of people are going to change there minds.

Incredible depth and balance with mind-boggling graphics!

Asheron's Call 1 entered the MMPORPG scene just about 3 short years ago as the new kid on the block. Since that date, when they entered with a very well-made gaming experience.. Microsoft and Turbine have learned and actually listened to the players. AC2 looks to be the result, and playing the Beta version of AC2 reveals that not only is this the best MMPORPG out now, but also is the best RPG ever made for any console. Period. Look out Everquest. Roll over and give it up DAoC. The graphics here [draw] you into a fascinating world where the breeze blows softly and you can actually see the blades of grass individually swaying. The monsters have intelligence beyond that of ANY game I've ever seen. No more are the days of attack and run behind a wall or jump on a wall to avoid their attack while you heal and go back to finish them up. These monsters are SMART. They WILL find you and get to you one way or another! Perhaps while you're on that wall trying to heal they will surprise attack you ON THE WALL as they found another way to get up it, or maybe they'll just throw a boulder ot shoot an arrow through the back of your head! I am amazed. AI creatures that are actually a challenge intellectually. Hundreds of other players. A devastated world that needs the players teamwork to rebuild the fallen towns. No more running to towns or NPCs to sell loot. There are NO npcs! All player world with players crafing and selling and minging the needed armor, weapons, raw materials and supplies. Any RPG or MMPORPG fan should NOT dare miss this one. It will blow you away. Oh, and one more thing: Forget "having a night life" after purchasing when it comes out! You'll have to plan ahead just to make it to real life things like "work" or "school". It really is THAT immersive. Great job Microsoft & Turbine. You have created a true "virual reality" that it nothing short of awesome in every sense. Talk about a BANG for your buck! I think my ears are ringing from the explosion of this bang!

This has to be the most disapointing game yet. every other mmorpg ive played (UO, AC, EQ) kept me interested for at least a month, (uo for 4 years) this game had me going for a week, tops.

It has no play value, you kill monsters, level up, do it again. Basically the higher your level the easier the higher level monsters get and you do the cycle over and over. For example, a level 100 char, killing a level 100 monster is just as easy as a level 1 battling a level 1.

All you can basically do is monster kill. Crafting is a waste of time, anyone can craft their own items. (so their goes the social aspect of the game) No npc's all people make their own potions and armor etc. But whats the fun there? I'd personally prefer to have an alternate character to sell my items. It gives the game more of kick. I find the ac2 team was just to lazy to program npcs.

On top of everything, the game isnt completed! they are already planning to patch it and change things. AND once again, the game has no horses. So you run everywhere portal to portal, this gets tedious, just because sometimes itl take you an hour to get to where you wanna go.

all and all this game is complete garbage, spend your bucks on something else.

This game seems to be that last piece of mudfish, at the bottom of a three day old gumbo. Developers plan to stir AC2, and hand carry waves of xp hunters across the ruins of dereth. Seems the only ones with some pleasure and excitement are the developers...I want a job doing that!!!

No freedom for the flavor to lift from the pot and it draws no attention to the recipe. With a few hundred sheets of explanation, one might begin to explore the fine art of 'crafting' -woowee!!!

If you want some low-pot gumbo, with shards of shredded meat-bits and by-products, please grab yourself a teaspoon of AC2. Otherwise, wait until someone cooks a fresh pot.

Im going to give the beta/shelf/home/neighbor/friend/relative version of AC2 a big two toes down.

Someone please tell the next devs that people want to interact with each other, in spite of the perils about...not the other way around.

Anyhow...GOOD LUCK AC2!!

Boring just isn't a stronge enough word.

I like all the people that give you the lineage of their game playing experience. Like that means anything.

The game is boring. It also is hard to get connected to. The servers are crashing all the time.

Wait for a few months if you plan to buy this game. They put it out before it's finished or sturdy.

The towns are boring, the landscape is boring, the gameplay is boring. You can't even find people playing in the game. I keep seeing the same 5 people.

The graphics are great, but as a landscape, boring.

The dungeons that I was able to play in had other people in who evidently think the game is to try and aggrivate you as much as possible. Every time I started to kill some monster or other, some higher level character would come over and kill it instead. Then proceed to follow me around so that I could not do anything.

This game really is boring. I keep saying that don't I? I just don't know a stronger word.

Whats up with this game??

AC2 is a major disapointment. Game is way to simple. Way to unbalanced and way to high reqs. Dont even try this game unless you have the most up to date computer and have high speed connection. 56k you pretty much get a few other people on your screen and you are dead from lag. I gotta say the first patch wasnt a good thing for turbines rep. daoc had more. anyways this game doesnt provide enough. you will be bored after one week for sure. you will be pleased with graphics but disapointed in the game.

At last an MMP focused on fun rather than spreadsheets!

This game is a lot of fun, I've tried to play other MMPs before and didn't really like them because it was too much number tracking and work just to get in and have fun. This game lets you get in quickly, level to a point where you have some skills to play with and explore an AMAZINGLY beautiful world!

After spending lots of time with AC2, I'm amazed that Turbine/MS has the nerve to release this stripped down unfinished product to the public.

Instead of moving the genre forward, they have moved it backwards. This game is much more of a console type shooter than a MMORPG in everyway. They have removed NPC's from the world so you can't even shop for equipment. Also, while I did except the towns to be in shambles, I didn't expect the fact you couldn't even enter the buildings. In fact, Turbine has released a statement saying that even when restored, the buildings can't be entered.

Forced PvP gank fests, No NPC's, level limits on boring items, char creation straight from Pac-Man and nothing to do except kill-kill-kill, make this game the biggest dog in years.

Selling this game should be considered a crime.
