Here's a quick synopsis:
Graphics: 10/10- Really great graphics and animation, it can stand up against most games right now. Worlds are detailed and awe-inspiring.
Sound/Music: 6/10- Decent. The music is okay, but nothing great. It gets old if your in one area for more than three or so minutes. Sound is good, but is the same everywhere. Water, hits, walking...always the same.
Gameplay: 7/10- If you like Zelda, you'll probably like the gameplay. Except no tough puzzles or extensive dungeons (for some that's good, for others that's bad). The fighting is really cool the first few times but with only four (?) combos you can pull off (by pressing the control stick left, right, up, or nowhere) it gets boring. The gameplay is trying so hard to be good but falls short. It seems like a rush job. But if you really get into it, this game will immerse you for hours. If not, you'll be bored. I personally really had fun with this game, but the opinions of many of my friends tell me that my case might be an extreme one.
Replayability (is that a word?): 5/10- Alright. If you really liked it you'll play it twice. It's very tedious in the beginning hwich may turn you off to playing it over. The secrets are absuloutly retarded. Half of them are weird messages from anonymous whoevers. You pay money for those by the way, they're not hard to get. I would say the best secret would be the ability to play the game in black and white. YES! I've always wanted to do that! I could just change my TV settings, but this is way cooler!
Overall: Not fantastic, but still playable. It WAS originaly an N64 game, but was cancelled and Fox got stuck in it and got sent along to the Cube. For RareWare's last hurrah I am dissapointed. Buy it for 20 smackers. Renting is out of the question because you won't get a good sense of this game without beating it. The second half of the game is fantastic, I just wonder where the people who designed those last few levels were during the first ten hours of play...if you are willing to stick with this game until the end you will have a rewarding play experience. If not, you really won't. That's why I think younger players might not enjoy this, they just won't want to stick with it.
I say buy it, for the price it's at. Buy it for Zelda fans, also. You won't find many better adventure games these days.
An excellent game but can be confusing in parts.

Ever since Super Nintendo released the 1993(is that right?) game Ive been a big fan of Star Fox and this game seems to be even better in that it has the traditional outerspace airplane flying as well as a new Zelda style role playing adventure but please Fox is kind of a geek in this game.He was like Luke Skywalker in Star Fox 64 but his personality is devolving but still its a great game. Id still wait for Star Fox 2 first though if you want a Star Fox game. That will be a classic.

Star Fox Adventures is the greatest and, sadly, the most under-appreciated game I know. For some reason this game was overlooked by many players and did not receive the credit it deserves. As many know, Star Fox Adventures was the last game released by RareWare, in fact, to me it is a beautiful "farewell present" that RareWare gave to its fans before it departed (most likely, forever).
As most of the RareWare games, Star Fox Adventures amazes with its appearance - I am not just talking about detailed graphics, many levels mesmerize with their overall appearances and atmospheres. I found myself just going into a "first-person view" and simply looking around the Ocean World, Snow World, SkyWalker World, and many others - after all, in each world you can see the time of the day change from the sunny day to a silent night with a giant moon and the stars. Furthermore, time-to-time the rain or a snow begins to fall; adding to these atmospheres, there is a beautiful music that accompanies every change of the mood and time of day.
The game itself is filled with imagination and creativity that only RareWare offered to us for so many years (and only Electronic Arts came close to imitate). Every level offers you obstacles and twists that you never encountered before in other games; and, typical to RareWare, you often encounter puzzling situation that end up having easy solutions, but they allow you to change the way of your thinking to understand how to solve them (and if you are completely stuck, you can refer to the tips from Slippy or from the characters in the game). What bought me over at the first try is that you get to fight the SharpClaw soldiers with a staff weapon using different fighting techniques that you discover for yourself - this and various racing levels greatly add to the adrenaline action of the game.
The game is great for all ages - a 6-year-old and a 30-year-old can enjoy it and find something special for oneself. As the time has passed, the game became very inexpensive and can be purchased as a new or as a used copy; in each case the money would be well spent. In overall, I give this game "20" out of "10".

Unfortunatly, not many games that have appeared on the Cube can rival the graphics of Starfox Adventures. Take on a totally different adventure, compared to those seen in Fox's earlier titles. Dinosaur Planet is in trouble and Fox has come to save the day!
Graphics 5/5 - Wow! The lighting, shadows, colors...everything. This game is so realistic. I felt like I had been transported to an animated movie. Watch out for the weather effects, they're awesome.
Sound 5/5 - The soundtrack is great. When Fox is in trouble you know it...when the situation changes so does the music. Well orchestrated.
Control 4/5 - Pretty solid. I hate the controls for shooting with the power stick.
Gameplay 4/5 - Plays like Zelda. Uses a similar button setup. I do have a complaint. The boss battles are dissapointing...I expected a little more from the end...but whatever...the game's still good. Oh yea...the stick that Fox acquires should do more during combat.
Overall Fun Factor 3/5 - Great fun playing the game but replay factor is not so great. You gotta find hidden stuff but aside from that maybe some multiplayer stuff could have given it a boost.
Buy or Rent? - Buy It.
A very good game

I got this game for Christmas of 03' and put it in the GC and was very dissapointed. To make a long story short, the first 10 minutes of the game is utterly boring, but get past that this game is a masterpiece! Everything you liked about the gameplay of Zelda for the N64, Except with Starfox characters. I recommend the players guide for this game,as it gets confusing on some parts. I was not a huge fan of this genre of games but this game changed my mind!
Not the starfox I knew

im not saying that this is a bad game but it surprised me I thought that there would be more flying instead this is sort of like legend of zelda. I like how they tried to take the game in a new direction but it didnt cut it for me I loved star fox 64 in fact it was the first video game I ever played so I hope that star fox comand will have more flying in it than this one. on the plus side this game had a good storyline that made it hard enoughto not beat it in an hour heres how I rate it
gameplay: B+
graphics: A
controls A-
fun A-
overall B As I said there is not enough flying in this game so I dont rate it too high this game can also get frustrating at really hard parts and it can get boring at some points but overall its a good game
Yes, I wrote that kid review when I didn't have an account.
