I think the game is wonderful and seems to be very fun but I'm a 43 year old non-gamer. I purchased the Wii to play Guitar Hero and purchased Zelda b.c I remembered it from years ago. I was really hoping I could enjoy one of these types of fantasy games. I did get past the very first section where you jump the horse but could not get passed the fishing game.
In summary:
-Cool looking game; seems really fun
-If your are a beginner, need a lot of time to figure it out

I would recommend buying this for the Game cube and not Wii. The games are different for each system but on Wii it is very hard to play this game. I am not thrilled with the Wii and so I bought the game again for my game cube. It isn't as dark as the Wii version, there are things that are in the Wii version not in this but the game play is better, you get further and have more fun then you do on the Wii, I am sure people would disagree with this but then it is just my opinion.

Review 1:
I just bought this zelda game for the wii couple days ago and it just arrived yesterday and played it for about 4-5 hours so I will do 2 reviews. This first one will be a introduction type review. 2nd one which will be when i finish the zelda game and a full review.
I will start out this review by first saying that I first started playing games about 20 years ago, starting off with the Atari system and have played several zelda games in the past. It's been a while so I do not remember that much about the zelda games and weren't really a fan of Zelda. So this coming from a person who is more into the current type of RPGS that are in gaming right now and a unbiased (a honest) review..
I used to be interested in the military type games such as rainbow six and ghost recon, but i was getting very bored of those type games, tired of the shoot to kill games so I decided to take a look at zelda, comparing it to guild wars/dungeon seige/conquer online (free rpg game) etc and those type of rpgs. I was looking for something that would be based on collecting items and actually building a game based on character, and with the new Wii controls I was very interested in zelda, and with all the good reviews, I decided to give zelda and nintendo a chance..
I also got very bored of the Current RPG's as well, So first will comment on Amazon's shipping service, I got this game ordered like 2-3 days ago, and amazon said it would take 5-9 days to get here, however even though I was quite pissed about that message the game came in less then 2 days. So i have to give a Grade A(perfect score) on amazon's shipping for this game(great customer service)
Cons: what they could of worked on better:
Ok when it comes to the game, starting out on the first review, I have to give this game a 4 stars, graphics are fine, it goes with what i have done in the game, it loses a star for storyline and lack of rpg gamestyle. for the lack of voice speech in this game, got kind of tedious having to read all the text, would of been nice if they used a actor to go along with the speech, so i could of heard it instead of having to read everything. Even though I am a quick reader would of been nice if there was speech and perhaps some music to go with the scenes to make it less dull.
The Wii Remote and controls took me a while to get used too, i mean several hours and even the special attacks were comfusing, and it still is confusing, especially the fishing process. The towns were kind of small I was expecting bigger npcs for selling/buying items (such as a store type window) like other rpgs have, selling/buying items/armor/weapons for money (rupees in this game) was kind of bored only seeing 2-3 items people were selling at the first shop. I was really interested in customizing my character, new clothes, new items, perhaps have new dye items where you can change the color of your armor, perhaps a better hair style, but based on the storyline it depends on how far you go into the game before getting better equips and items(this is what i noticed in the first several hours of playing)
I was also expecting to be able to change into a wolf anytime I wanted after getting to that area in the game, but After I beat that area and turned back into Link, I couldn't change back to a wolf, would of been nice to be able to use my skill anywhere and find new clues/items using the dig feature(cool skill) Also would of been nice to be able to teleport to town anytime i wanted after unlocking the town. Also found myself lost in areas trying to go back and find any new areas to explore several times during the several hours of playing
Pros:
Fun game, great storyline, great combat system, really like the roll feature.
Right now i'm at the first temple trying to save my friends, the hawk and my horse Ebona so this review will be continued when I"m done with the Game as I think I have done a very small part of the game at the moment. But this is the first part of my review as a intro of this game.
Disappointing entry in the franchise

This game has gotten so many rave reviews that I wonder if I played a different version where all the fun and Zelda spirit were left out. I'm a long-time fan of the Zelda games, and eagerly anticipated playing this latest entry. I was very disappointed. From the very beginning and continuing throughout the game, everything felt formulaic and empty, with no real sense of urgency or importance to your missions.
It's been a few months since I played Twilight Princess, and I'm sitting here trying to remember the good and bad parts of it. Sadly, I can hardly remember any of it - it's just not memorable like the better installments in the series. There are fun bits in it, certainly, but overall the adventure is dull and unengaging. Recommended for rental only.
the most anticipated game of the year is finally here!

a dark cloud has decended over the land of Hyrule, were a terrible king of twilight is slowly growing in strength and a mysteriour prophecy must be fufilled. after nearly three years of waiting and much delay (it was delayed about four times) the next instalment in the Zelda series is here. and i have to say, it was well worth the wait. first off, the graphics are amazing, even if its not on the Ps3 it is still far beyond its time. first off, i wasent a big fan of the whole cartoonish look going on in Wind Waker and when i saw that this game would be back in hyper realistic form i swooned. next thing i have to address, dare i say it, Twilight Princess is the best Zelda game since Ocarina of Time! yep, thats right. let me explaing. first, the makers of the game have finally understood the concept of huge world scale. not to be a downer on Ocarina but the land of Hyrule seemed a bit...small. after two minutes, bam, i have crossed all of Hyrule field but in this game Hyrule has blown into huge, astronomical size! Lake Hylia is gargantuan, Death Mountain just towers above (though it does have a irregular shape) and as for Hyrule Field. well even on your faithful horse, it still takes a bit of time to reach one end to the other (try about fifteen minetes on foot). also, they managed to make the game lengthy (like nearly 50-70 hours of gameplay!). also, i have to say that since this is the first Zelda game to recive a teen rating, it might be a bit much for youngsters. if you have kids that are easily scared, then they should not get this cause the twilight relm is a scary place and there is a very dark story to the game but other then that i dont see how other kids can play. now, for my opinion i say the Wii is the way to go with this version. not only do you get the more realistic way of handling a sword and besides, its Wii. but if you dont have it, Gamecube also works. truly, Twilight Princess is a great swan song for the Gamecube and a great begining for Wii. so to see the birth of a brand new legend, Twilight Princess is the must have for all

I'm an avid Zelda player and this is by far the most entertaining. There are dozens of adventure games out there but few have the fan base like Zelda does.
This edition is by far the most challenging (if you don't get the guide book) you actually have to think to solve puzzles and tricks Link is faced with. If you do get the guide book, it basically plays the game for you, so I don't recommend it.
The great thing about the game is you get to play as both Link and the Beast of the twilight. So it's a slight twist to use both versions of Link. The Wiimote and nunchuk make the game interactive and more captivating than the previous ones. All in all, a great game, the greatest Wii game I own by far.
Great game

The Legend of Zelda is an amazing game in graphics, amount of interaction, mental challenge, and most other things most look for in a game. The challenge aspects are even in mental and physical (swinging swords, being quick enough, etc.). There were moments in the game where I thought I would never get past the challenge, but there were also moments of triumph. Every moment is filled with anticipation, from starting out as a talented helpful farmboy, to becoming the hero of the age. When the boar-riding monsters took my two friends away, I was filled with a feeling of lust for revenge. Up until that point, there isn't much exciting happening, but don't give up. If you want to get a little adrenaline in the game for fighting a boss, or something, I suggest you pause and read the introduction another time. This is a GREAT GAME. If you need to decide which game to get with your $50, Zelda is the one to get.
Although not perfect, this is the best Zelda game

Twilight Princess is in my opinion, without a doubt, the best Legend of Zelda game in the series. However, just like any other game out there, it is not perfect. A lot of the shortcomings in this game are the same that Ocarina of Time has. What I mean by this is that you know exactly what you are getting. Beat three dungeons, plot twist, then six more dungeons, then final boss. This formula has been used for practically every single Zelda game and it's getting a little old. That is where my criticism ends. Everything else about this game is amazing and improves upon everything that has made the series great so far. My only hope is that the next Zelda, which will be specifically designed for Wii, will have a different dynamic and a more interesting formula.
Best Zelda game yet...

With a grown up makeover and beautiful graphics (even compared to XBox 360 this game still holds its own), this game is a definite value. The motion sensing isn't super-involved in this game, so don't expect super intense sword battles - for the most part the controls are similar to the past few Zelda games, but shooting your bow with the Wiimote is definitely easier than it has been in the past...and the hookshot, boomerang and all are back again.
Plus, you can fight small armies of bad guys while riding your horse and it's pretty intuitive.
Oh, and there's alot more actual killing and smashing stuff up than the previous games...if you're into that sort of thing.
Best Zelda game ever made.

This game is the best Zelda ever made in my opinion. It tops the former grand daddy of them all Ocarina of Time(OoT). Twilight Princess(TP) tops OoT in every way possible, except for that revolutionary feel OoT gave you the first time you played it. Which lets face it, we wont ever get that feeling again for a long time. It's not like we can jump from 3d gaming to 4d gaming. So anyways on to the review
Graphics: 9
The graphics are some of the Gamecube's best and are up there with Resident Evil 4. And they may not be up there with next gen standards but the first time I saw Lake Hylia, I said "Wow, that looks good."
Gameplay: 10
Don't be expecting some major change to the Zelda formula, this game takes everything that was great about the previous games and improves upon them. So basically if you love the earlier Zelda's you'll love this one too.
Sound: 9
While the sound is not fully orchestrated there are a lot of great tunes in this game. Okay I lied earlier the only thing TP isn't better than OoT is sound. OoT just had too many of the songs you kept humming to yourself and you just couldn't get them out of your head. But TP still has some nice songs.
Length/Replay value: 10
So far I've logged 43 hours and I still am coming back to it to find some poe souls or heart pieces.
Overall: 10
Basically this Zelda is one of the most amazing games I've ever played ever played. I would reccomend this to anyone and especially people who loved previous Zeldas.
