I bought the game the day after it came out and I can not stop playing it! It is by far the BEST Tomb Raider game. This game has revolutionary graphics and ai. It is great for people who have played the Toomb Raider series or who are just starting out. Not to mention the puzzels are spectacularly cleaver. I also thought the plot was excelent and the cut seens where great! If you are up to a delightful challange this is definately the right game for you. This game is nothing but the best!

You are entering the big leagues now

This game puts the first three games as the training ground. You truly need a guide for this game. The levels are hard and time consuming. I thought I mastered the tomb series until I played this, I felt truly like a novice. This game will truly test your skills. Yeah baby

Great graphics but...

Unlike the other reviewers I had never played the previous Tomb Raider games. I bought this one because it looked cool. Yes, the graphics are excellent and so is the music, but who can control this game? The movements are jerky and highly inaccurate. This requires countless replaying of certain parts, since jumps are not exactly perfect or she is not standing at the exact spot to trigger levers, etc. Even though I like the "look" of the game, it is very tiring to play it for longer periods of time, since the controller problems really get on my nerves. The camera angle is not that great either and wastes time trying to figure out which way she is facing now. Yes, the game is beautifully animated and the story line is kind of cool (since I love Egyptian stuff), but so far this has been more a pest than a fun game I can't get enough off.

"The most action-filled game of the Year!"

The bottom line is: This game rules! For all of you people out there who care about the how the effects look, and how much action is in it, listen to this: 'The Last Revelation' is da' bomb! The effects are #1! The effects have improved so much, there's a cut-scene about a quarter through the game that looks real. I mean like it was made with a camera and real people. The characters are out of this world. Take it from me, the people who made up the levels, characters, and creatures are very creative. There's nothing like it. This game is very action filled with atleast 30 levels! In a few levels you can ride a two-person motorcycle as you're trying to save Juan Eve- Lara's long lost friends who lives in Alexandria. The evil, greedy villian, Verner Von Croy is scary! The whole game you'll have to escape his evil helpers such as men with machine guns ext. I jumped so many times in this game, I can't even count. There are things that pop out from the dark that nearly scare you half-to-death! The graphics are very imporoved along with the choice of weapons. You can get, Uzis, shotgun (two different kinds of ammo), grenade launcher, (3 different kinds of ammo) pistols and much more. If you haven't got this game yet, you have to get it now!

Lara back to best form ever

Perhaps the game Lara fans have been waiting for this adventure takes her adventuring to new heights.

This time we begin with Lara's formative years when a 16-year old Britney-looking Lara is apprenticed to archaeologist Werner Von Croy and toddles off to Angkor Wat in Cambodia. This is the training level to get you used to Lara's new skills like Tarzan swinging on ropes (very hard) and climbing around corners. The menu is tweaked too, having a new combine function (sadly underused) which allows you to combine objects retreived.

Then it's off to Egypt where the entirety of the rest of the game is set. The plot involves the accidental awakening of the imprisoned god Set. Lara gets to wander around in all Egypt's tourist spots such as Karnak and the Pyramids whilst (of course) filling beasties, guardians and rivals with gratuitous amounts of lead. The weaponry is weaker for this one with the emphasis on puzzle solving (I missed the Desert Eagle and MP5 from TR III) and not all enemies can be defeated with brute force and ignorance which is a welcome touch.

New look Lara is fully skinned and more smoothly animated to a degree that puts cyber-rivals to shame. The more involved plotline, probably the best of the series, makes this adventure one to be savoured. Just one question, we know Lara owns a Harley why does she never get to use it ?

Redemption

Finally a worthy sucessor to the original title. This is honestly the best game since the first one. The graphics are clear and it places Lara back where she belongs; in the crypts. The controls are your usual tomb raider fare. If you are new to the tomb raider genre, the first level is a quick introduction to the controls. Veteran players will also be challenged. The puzzles are tough and require a bit of thought and careful observation.

Hey....who turned out the lights?

This is a great game- I really enjoyed it as I did the others. My main complaint is just that there is no light! I mean, thanks for the flares- but they only last about 5 seconds. The binoculars help- but the problem is that you constantly have to throw out your flares or put up your binoculars to pick things up. Why not just turn on some light? Well- perhaps you say- this is because she is raiding tombs after all. Probably not outfitted with lamps every where you go. To this I say- good point! It isn't so bad. I recommend this game- the graphics are incredible. I really enjoyed the motorcycle and the scenic views. Just play it in a completely dark room so you can see better. One word of warning- beware the giant scorpions- yikes!

The Croft Woman Has Returned To Egypt And Tomb Raiding.

I really enjoyed this game, its gone back to what I started playing the Tomb Raider series for, the thrill of discovery. Eidos and Core have done a great job on this one. On several occasions the game startled me to the point where I jumped or cried out when I triggered a trap, or an enemy appeared unexpectedly. And then there are the puzzles, most, if not all that I've encountered, were quite ingenious, some are obvious but others will have you stumped for hours or even days. On the whole Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation is a great play, if you enjoyed the other Tomb Raiders you'll definetly enjoy this one. If you enjoyed the first game but were disappointed in II and III this may bring you back, as The Last Revelation is the sequel that II and III should have been.

Good 'Ol Fashioned Tomb Raidin'

I've played every Tomb Raider thus far. I remember with fondness the Posidon Adventure level in TRII, the London level in TRIII... but in all those games I missed STORY. TRLR finally has story. The cut scenes between levels flesh the game out in a way that the other games never quite accomplished. Of course the game play is almost the same, the new moves are fun but not earth shattering. What I've always liked about the series is the versatiliy and complexity of Lara Croft's movement. Overall, a great way to end Lara's run on the PSX. We'll see what the Playstation 2 brings us.

Lara Silences The Critics---Best One Yet

TR games just keep evolving into bigger and better games each sequel. TR4 is no exception. I used to swear that the original was the best because of the exciting plot, great places to adventure in and awesome villians. I am now convinced that TR4 is indeed the best in the series. The game designers really put a lot of effort into telling a nice story in one location of the world this time. The level design is once again excellent. Exploring ancient tombs and palaces should always be the main focus of TR games. Then, there is Werner Von Croy, your mentor and arch-rival in the game. A lot of thought was put into this character and it shows. He's smart, resourceful and deep ( even with the little screen time he gets ). He's fit to be placed right beside Natla and Larsen in the TR villians hall of fame. At ....., you get a great action story, nice graphics, quality voice acting and the one and only Lara Croft. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up.
