This game is almost perfect in every subject.
Graphics: 10, Presents smooth non blocky graphics with lots of different scenery and great character detail.
Sound: 10, Smooth non-repatative backround sound, everything from the vioce of money bags to the pattering of spyro's feet are perfect.
Gameplay: 10, NO BOOK NEEDED all you have to do is pick up the controler and play, the controlles could not be easyer to master.
Lasting Appeal: 7, The first time I played the game I had no memory card and could not save my game, despite this I found the game to be very fun. Then I bought a memory card to try and beat it, 3 days later averaging an hour a day I had beaten the game. Then I went back and collected all the stuff and beat the game completley, this all-in-all took about a week. Two months later I have not touched it yet because the lasting appeal is not great.
Taking all this into account I say its Perfect for a rental, yet for a buy must be a fan of the story and game.

I've played a lot of games in my time (11 years) and Spyro is definetly the bast you can get. Like one of the other reviews said, it is a bit too short but it is still keeping my sister and I occupied. I reccomend this game to all kids out there accept for those really good at PlayStation. Those kids could easily beat it in hours. In the game you have to go to approximately 6 worlds and collect Talismans, Orbs, Gems and stuff like that. My sister got the game for Christmas and I constantly nag her about me using it. She lets my once in a while. Anyway, like I said, I highly reccomend this game and it has given my sis and I hours of smiles and fun.
Good, but not as good as the first one.

The game wasn't as good as the first one. Plus, it didn't have the same feel and architecture that the first one did, which made the second installment in the spyro trilogy a little non-spyro. It's as if the designers were trying to get away from the first one instead of creating a different game but going for the original roots, which I hoped they would do, yet they didn't. Plus some of the minigames can be annoying and some parts are a lot more frustrating than the first one. The first one was great, a little challenging yet easy to beat, and plus it was highly addictive. I'd say that the only good things about the second one is the graphics, which are excellent, and plus certain mini games, (CERTAIN, CERTAIN, NOT ALL.) Anyways, the game is worth the money, but it's still not as good as the first.

The first Spyro was great game already, but this game beats it by far. With loads of new features and tons of new characters, this is one of the best Spyro games out there. In this game you get to travel through 4 new worlds with over 30 colorful levels with your old buddy Sparx and your new companion, Hunter, the cheetah. You must collect over 14 tallismans and 60 orbs to finally come face to face with Ripto. Also in these game, meet Moneybags. He can open up doors or drop bridges for you at a "small fee". Some new features in this include some fun mini-games, the ability to swim, and some new power-ups like the super charge, super flame breath, and super flying power. Here an overview of the game:
+Improved graphics 8.5/10
+Challenging but not too challenging boss battles 8/10
+Autosave 10/10
-Not enough new abilities 7/10
-Levels are a bit small 7.5/10
-Storyline is a bit bland 7/10
Overall, a great Spyro game. It provides lots of entertainment and lots of fun mini-games, therefore, it's a MUST-HAVE!

I am 46 years old and I love both the Spyro games. It is challenging enough and fun enough for me to be every bit as happy with it as a 6 year old. I loved the first game and asked for the second for Christmas. It is innovative with more graphics and activities.
This game is a BLAST!

With so few video games for all members of the family, this one is #1! The graphics are great (unlike most of the family games), and it's just a darn good time for everyone! When we're done with this one, we're going back and starting all over again! NOW'S THE TIME to bombard Insomniac games for a Spyro 3 - they're on a roll!
This is actually Playable!

Spyro the Dragon was an amazing accomplishment. It was simply stunning. So you can imagine how overjoyed I was when the sequal arrived!
A typical conversation:
Me: Guess what I did this weekend?
Friend:Played Spyro 2
This game is another great accomplishment! The levels are great, and there are tons of new characters in each level. And (Bum bum BUMMM!) Spyro's voice is no longer ANNOYING! The only real problem is the lack of challenge. I'm no expert gamer and I've almost finished it. It's just so much fun that you wish it would go on and on forever!

Don't let the cute little dragon deceive you! Spyro is back in this fun filled, action packed adventure. In my opinion, not as good as the fist one, but Spyro 2 is sure to blow you away... and if it doesn't, Gulp will!

Spyro 1 was a magor hit for platfoarmer game fans. Evrything about the purple dragon was smooth, adorable, charming, happy, fluffy, heveanly, innoceint, adventurous, and exclusively LOVEABLE! This game has overwelming addictiveness & innoceince! I enjoyed popping sheep and saveing Spyro's elders from the Gnasty Gnorc's evil(?) grasp! Forget those hellish ESRB:'M' games and those. ... -- Shooting games.Spyro is peace. And that, is good! Spyro deserves a halo of his innocence. Bless you,Spyro the dragon. Wile in Spyro2: Rapto's Rage!,the dragon has matured, Spyros got fierce, and the game has grown to be with more challenge! Thats just what we need up here! Spyro 1 was good but Spyro 2 rocks the stars! Spyro 2 has tripled in pleasure, graphics, music and all the other previously great celestial objectives. So, all of you phisical spirits-try Spyro2:Ripto's Rage! Trust me, you will become an addict to this game! Your 11 year old spiritualist--- SPYRAX (:

over all i would rate thise game very highley, but certain aspects are to difficult. They are doable but it takes along time. For example to get one of the orbs you have to ride a cart on a set of train trackes collecting 50 gears while doing so. You have to drive and steer the cart while also shooting objects in the way. I would buy the game tough if i were you because it is an extremley fun game.
