Ripto's Rage is an extension of the original Spyro. With this game Spyro learns more tricks (climbing walls, swimming, etc.) which is okay. Still though, Ripto's Rage lacks a little in challenge and fun factor compared to the first. I thought this game was a little too easy to beat and I was a little disappointed. But when compared to other games like Croc and Gex, this game is still way better.
All in all, I'd still recommend this game for it's family rating and entertainment value. But if given a choice I'd still prefer the first!!
Sequel following Spyro 1 is awesome.

In Spyro 2 you can learn many new moves like to climb, to swim, and headbash. In the Game you have to pay a guy named Mr. Moneybags to learn theses moves. There also is a way to run faster if you press and hold down square and x at the same time you'll run a little faster than you originally were. Also you can do many more things like play hockey and ride in a shark sub. In this game there are three bosses, these bosses are more fun to play against than the one's in the original Spyro. P.S. It is great it's worth what you pay for.
Good for me!

I was never very good at games, no matter what type. I was never even able to pass the first level in Mario Brothers! But I love playing games. So, mostly I just watched. But when my brother (who plays real well) told me to rent something from Blockbuster, I rented Spyro. I loved it, I could actually play this game!
I found the same to be true for Spyro 2, which I bought. Spyro 2 is very alike to the first game, adding more moves and set in a different world. I found certain elements too hard for me, but for the most part, I can get through the levels, however long it takes me. But it is fun, and I love the little video clips--full of humor.
However, I do realize that most people buying this game are somewhat better than I and can play games rather well. But as one person mentioned, the difficulty varies. The hardest parts are mostly optional--trying the get all the orbs and gems. For players who are looking for a challenge, I would recommend that you try to pass the game with every world finished 100%.
This game is not gory nor particularly violent, and does involve some problem solving skills. I would recommend this game to anyone looking for a fantasy-based game, for younger children, or any adults who want a game where they can do something! I would not recommend this game to anyone who only wants fighting or racing. While there are flying sequences, it would not hold the interest of anyone who is looking for racing like in Gran Turismo.
Overall, I truly had fun with this game and recommend it highly.
This game doesn't drag on...

Spyro 2 is a wonderful sequel to the first Spyro, a game that offers a much bigger quest and deeper gameplay, something that will appeal to more than just kids. The graphics are richly drawn and the animation is terrific. The music's not really that much, but at least the sound effects are tolerable. The gameplay is where it's at, with abilities to swim and fly thrown in for good measure. A great game for all ages that doesn't drag on...
A challenging game

I can't belive people think this game is easy! If they thought this was easy they musta been half asleep while playing the 1st one! The orbs are hard to get and even while the boss of each level was not as hard as in games like Final Fansy vII or Parasite Eve getting to them is pretty tough (espasily Ripto). On the other hand what do these people expect? IT WAS MADE FOR KIDS! Of course I think adults can enjoy it. If not don't complain!

This game is GREAT! #1 on my gameing list! This is certainly better than SPYRO THE DRAGON. I play it almost every day! The action is one of a kind! Bigger levels, badder monsters, what more could you ask for! And kids know what they like!
Spyro 2 is one of the best!

This game is great! I have played this game over and over again. Spyro 2 is one of those games that you could turn on and play for hours even if you don't mean to. Once you turn on the game you are instantly addicted. When I bought the game I wasn't sure if I would like it, but after playing it I was hooked. It was definitely better than the first Spyro. The graphics were better and the story line was better. This game is challenging and fun for all ages! I recommend this game to everyone!
Great Game!

Spyro 2 is a very good game with great graphics. But it is very easy. When I bought it, I was expecting a challenging game that I would get a lot of play out of. I was wrong. I beat the game in about four days. It is a good game to get if your new to Playstation games, and it's a good game for this price.
The best game!

This is deffinetly my favorite game! Spyro is back, and this time he can swim, climb, smash boulders with his head, and tons more other things. I strongly suggest this game if you are thinking about buying it. If you like the first one, I'm sure you'll like this one much more, I did. I can't wait till Spyro:Year Of The Dragon comes out, that will be exciting.

When I first played Spyro at Fedco, it got me hooked, and I begged for Playstation, in order to play it! Its addictive, and most of the games (for ANY system) I can't play and finish! The second one is far greater, more imaginative, and not so "torch Gnasty" serious. I reccomend this game for anyone, even a small child could play this. Your enemies and hilariously funny, and not scary (in both). Boss Levels are tough, but beatable (unlike Spyro 1), and the Puzzles can be SOLVED (unlike Spyro 1). Great Gameplay for a Video Game!
