You get your licence, buy a car, fix it up, add new parts, get it washed, race, win money, and then start all over. This sounds just like what you would do in real like, which is why this game is great, it is very realistic. There are over 500 cars, from every brand you can think of, and 20 highly detailed tracks that will never get boring. So why did I only give this game 4 stars? Like Stuntman, which could have been an amazing game, this game was ruined by its difficulty level. In order to enter any of the races, you must get the first two licences. The first one wasnt too difficult, and the second one wasnt either until number 8. This took me atleast 60 tries! Okay, I finally got my second licence, which means I can go and enter many of the beginer races. I started a race being very anxious.
Sadly, you get spinouts at EVERY turn. Which makes racing more about luck, rather than your talent. When going at 50 mph, a little tap on the DIGITAL controlls will make the car swirv all around the track, and then ending in a spin out. I truely believe that beating a race on the game will be even harder than beating the same race with the same car in real life!
Im not too far in the game that i have too many cars, but i know that the first couple that you can buy dont have good controls. If some of the more expensive cars also spin out every time, then Im just going to give up on this game..
Sometimes it seems like a chore, instead of a game.
If you have paincence, then go ahead and buy it, I do recomand it, but realize that the difficulty of this game is intence.

I love this game, I bought this game the day it came out, and played it for over a year. My favorite race is with the audi TT, and when you win the race you receive a car worth around 125,000 credits. The only feature I never got to using was the car wash in the game, could never get a car dirty to use it. The graphics are old, but the game is still amazing. The soundtrack at the beginning is the best for all car games. The current best racing game, for me has to be Forza, I like it more than Project Gotham 3.
the best and still is top raceing game sony has ever made

The graphics yes a little griny comaired to new versions but old tvs fix that. Its got more cars than gt3, and more cooler cars than gt4. Dirving sim is ok, but not for the weekend gamer or the 6yr old kid, theil get fustrated easily, no online play or rally on this but cheap and worth the money. And I still play it.
