The worst FF game ive ever played

You see Final Fantasy was based on an engrossing story, FF VII and FF VIII were both rich with an unique style of gameplay and very fun battles. Yet as stoked as i was to play this game, I was brought down to a level of degression. Starting off the characters are cartoony and feminine with a gameplay that took me only 10 hours to complete, now i know what your thinking, but it took me 50 hours to beat FF 7 and 8. So all in all this game has the graphics, the sound and even the gameplay but no story, not enough characters (cant choose), and no longevity, sorry but I suggest renting this title first before you pay ... unless your a FF finatic.

i have not played the game but i have seen it. i own FFVII and VIII VII was the first FF game ive ever played it was great and when i heard VIII was comeing out i bugged my mom till i got it i was disappointed but from what ive seen and heard about IX im sure squaresoft will redem the FF name with this one

I SAW THIS GAME IN A VIDEOGAME STALL LAST THURSDAY.SINCE IT WAS PUBLISHED BY SQUARESOFT,I DECICED TO GIVE IT A TRY.I HAVE OTHER FINAL FANTASY SERIES TOO. THAT'S WHY I THINK THIS GAME WILL ROCK ME.FINAL FANTAST IX IS WONDERFUL! THE GRAPHICS ARE GOOD, AND SO ARE THE SOUND AND THE GAMEPLAY. THE CHARECTERS ROCK TOO. YOU PLAY AS ZIDANE TRIBAL, A BANDIT FROM A GROUP CALLED TANTALUS.THE BATTLE SYSTEM IS GOOD. ON YOUR JOURNEY, YOU WILL RECRUIT MANY CHARACTERS TO TRAVEL WITH YOU. YOU CAN ALSO USE MAGIC AGAINST ENEMIES,STEAL ITEMS FROM THEM AND MANY MORE.PERHAPS, YOU WILL FIND LOVE TOO IN THIS GAME. THIS GAME HAS A LOT OF MINIGAMES SUCH AS THE FROG-CATCHING GAME,THE SKIPPING ROPE GAME AND MANY MORE. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GOOD AND ENJOYABLE RPG GAME, YOU'VE FOUND IT.

Whoa...I got FF9 for X-mas, and I'm only on Disk 2. I know tons of people who would be done by now, but no. This game takes time, and effort. The new characters, which include Zidane, Vivi, Steiner, Eiko, and more make this game one of a kind. The gameplay is like the old Final Fantasy games, but it combines the best of the old, with the best of the new to make an instant classic. A must buy for long time fans!

I'm begining to wonder about everyone The final fantesy searies is a realy great one while 8 was a bit of a farfetched take it was a decent game despite how annoyed i got at the junction system. Anyways its a final fantesy game the skill systems changed around once again. And thats a good thing. I say if you like all the other FF games get this one because youll probubly like it also, just don't campare please ive seen enough fandom arguments over which FF games better and such and i frankly don't care there all good games on there own, we get good stuff...and complain when we realy shouldn't. Don't let me influence you there's enough opinion in here that you probubly have already made up your mind. Well if you get it remember to have fun.

I've only played FF VII and VIII before and they both rock! But this one is totally different. Even though all the characters before has been great, these take home the award. Enough about that...the story is awsome and the fights aren't as simple as in 7 n 8.I can't believe how emotional these games are! They're the only games I think aren't shallow. I love the games and I hope that the production never ends and that it only gets better, though I'm not sure if it can get any better. I've spent every night trying to find hidden stuff and new accesories and of course, I've gone further, too! I just needed to say how much they've done for me...My life ain't too big of a mess anyore! Thank you, Square!!! (Quina rox!)

When I first got this game, plopped it into my playstation, and played it, I was amazed at how well Square had done. There are several characters, all with different characteristics. The graphics are amazing! There is wonderful music, once again composed by Nobou. If you want a great RPG, buy this one!

Among the best in the series so far...

Final Fantasy IX is a great improvement compared to VIII. The graphics are a lot better, more colorful, detailed, etc. There's only a couple flaws here. The character designs were had the good, the ugly, and the just plain scary. The characters that turned out okay were Garnet, Eiko, Freya, Vivi(Looks cartoony, but still looks okay), and Amarant(Same as Vivi). Steiner looked kin of funny with all the armor and face. Kuja was the thing that freaked me out. I mean, c'mon, he's a guy and he dresses that way??? Ewwww. The music wasn't as good as VIII, but still turned out good. And I heard the storyline turned out really good and the cities are a lot bigger.

I'll admit that I'm a RPG gamer today because of Final FantasyVII, the RPG that aimed for the jugular of Americanmainstream. Squaresoft's latest addition to the Final Fantasy serieswas probably the biggest surprise I've had all year. Being used to therather mainstream FF7 and FF8, I was put off by this one's cutesyappearing characters and fantasy setting. But still, I purchased it,not thinking it would ever surpass FF7. If you are a gamer that hadthe same mentality as I did, buy it anyway, give it 2 hours and youwill be connected with the game in a way FF7 and FF8 never achieved todo.

Instead of taking a futuristic, cinematic approach in story withsomewhat shallow characters, Square decided to go for the deep,3-dimensional characters in a fantasy setting. Never mind theirstrange appearances, like Zidane having a tail or Quina, well... theseare some of the best characters to ever appear in a Playstationgame. However, the tradeoff seems to be a ho-hum storyline in whichsome guy wants to destroy the world and your the ones who have to saveit. This is my main, and only, complaint. Square makes up for itthough, by taking a somewhat different approach to it. Even though thestory is same-old same-old, it won't feel like it, thanks to thewonderfully designed characters.

Overall, FF9 is a masterpiece noPSX gamer should be without. The graphics are astounding, the gameplayis fun, and the characters are the best yet. If this plays like howall the old-school Final Fantasies are like, then Square shouldre-release more of them, not just 5 and 6.
