I was so surprised to find out that my most favorite game of all time came to the playstation!. I love Final Fantasy VI, or also known as, Final Fantasy III! I belive that this is the only game in the world with such a storyline. It has everything, for everyone: Romance; Comedy; Adventure;Fantasy(of course) ;Friendship;etc... What more could you want in a game?!? I give this game a 5-star because it made me happy, it kept me occupied, and it has a wonderful story. I highly recommend that you play this-you won't be dissopointed!

FF6 is a great game for the supernintendo and even though the graphics are not enhanced the movies are great. and what can you ask for when you re-create a game anyway? they keep the old style which is good because if they changed it would be way to complicated. Another bonus is you can have your older brother help you on it, he probably still has the original.

This is a great set. It gives one of the greats Final Fantasy's of all time (VI) and introduces FF5, which has never before been released in the U.S. The music CD is very cool as well. Although this is originally a SNES game, the PS import is still great to play.

Thanks SquareSoft

Finally, Final Fantasy 6 on PSX! FF6 is arguably the best RPG ever made, and its still a great play on the Playstation. Final Fantasy 5 is also an enjoyable game, which was originally unreleased in the US. It returns to the class system employed by the earlier editions of Final Fantasy. The add-ons to these games, such as some FMV, are also very good and make this package a great value. Check this one out!

Best Final Fantasy game of all time!!!

This is awesome! I played Final Fantasy 5 on rom form for SNES and I thought it was a good game. Then when I got Final Fantasy 6, I THOUGHT IT WAS THE BEST GAME EVER! Then I got Final Fantasy 8 which rules of course but 6 is a lot better. So I got anthologies. They added movie clips and a couple of other things. I don't care if the game is old or how the graphics are. I just care about the story and the characters. The story off FFV is kinda corny and the characters...[stink] but the game is still good. But, FFVI has the coolest story and the coolest characters. Even characters that you have for 5 minutes or characters that you can't choose at all rule! This game is mad hard but if your a diehard and a very experienced RPG player (like me) you'll see that this is the best Final Fantasy game ver. I bet you it's even better than 10, 11, and 12 which are yet to come for Playstation 2. Get this game. You'll never regret it. Plus every main character (which is about 14) has a great, long and detailed storyline which let you know about their past. And FFVI is very emotional. Sometimes you'll laugh, sometimes you'll be mad, and sometimes you cry like when that stupid Kefka kills General Leo Christophe. Get the game! Unless you're afraid that old games ...[stinks].

The Sixth Installment is a Charm Fantastic!!!

Eventhough there are two games in this package by Squaresoft, I'd like to review Final Fantasy VI because it is by far the best RPG ever! FF6 is the first and best RPG I've ever played. Somewhere during the summer of 96, my friend and I rented this game from Blockbuster. Before this I never liked games with words or stories that you have to follow; I've always wondered how a game could be fun when you have to use your head. BOY WAS I WRONG! That sleepover was one of the most important nights of my life; I didn't sleep for days after trying to finish this game; I WAS ADDICTED. From then on I became a RPG fanatic, I have played everything from the Breath of Fire series to Lunar on Sega CD to Xenogears on Playstation.

Until this day, I haven't played a game as absorbing as FF6 (FF3 in the US). The storyline is absolutely brilliant, Kefka's plan to reign over the world, Shadow's secret background, the magitek factories, Terra's ambivalent and ambiguous feelings about herself, and definitely Kefka's last words as a GOD are all examples of the great "fantasy" qualities of this game. Todayýs RPGýs such as final fantasy 8 have lame dialogues and realistic pursuits such as the well proportioned characters that are just lacking the imagination and creative individualities of its predecessors. Two words: Absolutely Magical! All in all, I still like todayýs RPGýs and I cannot imagine my life without them.

Hereýs a top 10 list of the best RPGýs Iýve ever played (If you donýt care about graphics):

1. Final Fantasy VI (No comments necessary) 2. Chrono Trigger (After playing it, youýll feeling like youýve lived through it) 3. Xenogears (I love anime and robots and this is a dream come true) 4. Final Fantasy IX (Slow at first but a definite classic) 5. Final Fantasy VII (Love the bike rides and snowboarding experiences) 6. Dragon Quest VI (Great RPG if you read Japanese) 7. Lunar 2: Eternal Blue (Memorable characters) 8. Final Fantasy V (Neat job system) 9. Earthbound (Very wacky and very entertaining) 10. Breath of Fire II (Plain fun)

The Best Final Fantasy Game?

Squaresoft has always been known to make some very challenging games, so when I heard I could get a copy of the Fifth and Sixth installments of the game, I got right to it. I could tell from the first day that this game would be both a challenge and a joy. It was all that and more. Some people would shun any games from Square that wasn't a complete dazzler, but seen to not care about gameplay. Final Fantasy Anthology is, in it's own way, a visual marvel. Considering these were released for the the SNES, it is amazing. The main reason to play this game is just that...to play it. The gameplay is unbelievable. Great controls, super music, and a great story all contribute to my review. The Greatest FF ever? No. That belongs to Final Fantasy 9 now. But if there was a second place, this incredible game would be in that position. Five Stars. Awesome Game!

It has FF6--what could be better?

Although I find Final Fantasy V to be a weak point in the series (and it glitches on me frequently), nothing can compare to the magic of Final Fantasy VI. It is, in my honest opinion, the greatest RPG. FF: Anthology reinvents the magic of Terra, Locke, Celes, Edgar, Sabin, and everyone else tenfold! Marvelous play, and definitely worth beating more than once!

I've loved the Final Fantasy series ever since 1990 when the first one came out for NES. Of course, that same game in Japan had been released in 1987. Anyway, this collector's package of FFV and FFVI for the SNES is a gem.

Final Fantasy 5 was never released in the US back in 1992, when it came out for the Super Famicom in Japan. With the advent of the internet and downloading ROMs, FF5 became one of the most sought-after games that hadn't been released in the US. (Japan-only releases were unofficially translated into English with a computer software called 'translation patch.') Well in Anthology package, FF5 is released for the first time in English *officially.* Unfortuntely, I have to agree with some people that with the English translation, the unofficial ROM versions are actually better than this official release! (Example: I like "Lenna" instead of "Reina," and "Kara" instead of "Krile.")

The graphics and sound quality of FF5 are comparable to FF4. The music, while very good (LOVE YOU NOBUO UEMATSU!), is not QUITE as memorable as the music from either FF4 or FF6, though the Neo-ExDeath and Gilgamesh themes stick out in my mind at the present moment. The game is the final game in the series to focus on the "four crystals [orbs] of earth, air, water and fire." Like the Japanese FF3 (not FF6, which is the US FF3), the game focuses on the Job/Ability system, in which a character can choose any class (ninja, black mage, etc.) and develop skill levels for that class, and change classes at any time. This makes for incredible replay value. The story is entertaining but once again, not quite as good as FFs 4 or 6.

Final Fantasy 6 is one of the most incredible RPGs ever. Some say it's better than FF7, the one that made the series mainstream in the US. The story is so awesome and incredible. The player does indeed get sucked into another world. Or, to be more specific, two incarnations of the same world: First, the World of Balance, and second: the World of Ruin. It's great to play it once again, and the CGI animation movies make the package really worth it. I really like the "For the Lovers" movie that you get to watch once you conquer the game.

Unfortunately, the one thing that holds the enjoyment value of both games back are the load times. Even on the PS2 with the "fast" and "smooth" settings, the load times for battles and the menu are a bit of a pain, especially given that the gameplay is absolutely identical to the SNES version in terms of graphics, etc. If you're old enough to remember playing the cartridge, which had no load times at all (no 3-5 seconds of black screen while the menu loads), you're going to yearn for that. Of course, one can achieve this by downloading the ROM. Actually the real problem is with FF6, because with FF5, the "fast and smooth" settings do actually make it pretty darn close to the cartridge speed. But for some reason, in FF6 there doesn't seem to be much difference and in particular, the load times in the Coliseum are brutal.

All in all though, a great re-release for old-school FF fans!

This game is a remake of the snes hits. The story line for the FFVI is really good. The biggest problems are that like most of the FF games, you need to spend to much time near the end of the game to level up so that you can stand a chance. The other problem is that the game can be very slow when moving from screen to screen.
