Simply the Best Soccer Game Ever

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 14 / 15

This game deserves 10 stars. I just played the Pro Evolution Soccer 3 (the name it has in Europe) PC demo I downloaded. I own Winning Eleven 6 and Believe me I was very impressed with the new player models, Bufon, Del Piero and Casillas, Becks they look just like their real life counterparts, just to name a few. The game play, the most important aspect of the franchise, is very good, players move as real players do, the new replays look cool. I didn't think there could ever be a better game than WE6 but I was mistaken, WE7 is better. I'm really looking forward for the release of this title, specially with some licenses they have gotten for this year. This is as close to the real thing as you can get. I played Fifa 2004 it has improved and has the licenses, but if gameplay is what matters to you, then WE 7 is your game.

Soccer at it's finest!!!

This game is by far the most realistic interpretation of the greatest game on earth. Myself being a college soccer player, watching the strategy on the field unfold and still maintaining unparalleled gameplay action and realism all bundled into one nice little package, it's impossible not to buy this game. So, take it from me, if you're looking for a good soccer game with exciting gameplay and worldwide flair, this is the one for you.

WE7 is to soccer what Gran Turismo 3 is to driving games.

There are many pros and some cons about Winning Eleven 7. It's not a perfect game (no game is perfect) BUT it's the BEST soccer game out there (and better than WE6). I own Fifa 2004 and Winning Eleven 7 (and previous versions of both games) and Winning Eleven 7 is a much better game. The reason?. Winning Eleven 7 is to soccer gaming what Gran Turismo 3 is to racing games. Gran Turismo 3 is a "driving simulation" game, no an arcade type of game. That is why driving fans love the game and why is so hard to any Sony competitor to come out with a real competitor to it. The same holds true to WE7 in the gaming soccer world. All game developers know they will be compare to the Winning Eleven series. While Fifa 2004 is very good (no much better game play from Fifa 2003 but much better graphics) it still fills like an arcade game compare to WE7. For those out there saying there is no differences between WE7 and the previous version (WE6), let me say that yes there is a lot of subtle differences that make the game much more enjoyable. (I like that it's more responsive with players reacting more quickly. This makes a huge difference in a soccer game when playing). If you have to choose between a game with more realistic feeling and with more replay value (harder to master) go for WE7, if you want something to have more fun (like being able to score more goals in a match) or a combination between arcade feeling/simulation type of game, go for Fifa 2004. As a soccer fan coming from a country with a strong tradition with soccer, I prefer Winning Eleven 7.

There are so many reviews that go both ways on this game and FIFA 2004. ENOUGH BASHING!!!!! People are so hard up about one version they blind themselves from seeing the gold the other game has in store for them.

FIFA 2004- This game is the most visually packed soccer game on the market. It has fully lisenced teams from all around the world, stadiums that are detailed down to the right grass design. If you want a game that is easy to pick up and even easier to look at, get this game. It feels arcady and easy, yet the difficulty can be bumped up and it can be a fight for the win. I must say this is the first Fifa game I have withheld from buying for the past 10 years. Since Game gear fifa soccer 1994 I have been buying FIFA. This is the first year I've bought a different soccer game before FIFA and that game of course is,Winning eleven 7.

For the soccer enthusiast who wants to play a soccer game that any pro soccer player would pick up and say, "yes this is how I would make it." Imagine a soccer player like brazil's Ronaldo picking it up and playing Michael Owen From England International.. The way they play soccer on the field would be evident right on the screen. The game allows anyone to decide hundreds of mixes of strategies and tactics!! Okay for those people who need to see every person from the world of soccer in this game you'll be upset because the names are mostly made up... If that's such a big deal edit the teams to their real counterparts, it'll take you about 5 hours to do the whole game, I did it and I'm happy with it.

I must say the graphics are nothing to snicker at, but they do not stand up to 2004 I think that the polish award goes to Fifa. But the feeling for soccer has been captured by Konami in their Fifa Rival... Winning Eleven 7.. and you know what? after I play my brain out on winning eleven seven I'm going to probably have to get Fifa 2004 just so I can say I have the prettiest of all soccer games and my 14th FIFA SOCCER TITLE!! oh yeah game gear, sega genesis, PC and every year including special world cup editions of the year!! A true FIFA fan loving Winning eleven GAMES TOO?? am I mad? Nah I'm just a guy who loves soccer.

great soccer game!!!!!

ok, i happend to be the proud owner of both soccer games that have come out lately "fifa 2004" and of course "winnig eleven 7". So i can compare the both of them. first thing first, fifa does have good grafics and licence shirts, but is too slow and sometimes a little hard to handle, because they tried to make it real but i think they went too far. but we're not talking about fifa, we7 is the total opposite of fifa, now personally i don't care about the licenced t-shirts, we the people care about the gameplay, and we7 has it, they have so many moves, so many features that it's amazing, 21 stadiums, lots of teams, i mean to tell you the truth is a lot better than fifa!!!! and the most important thing: YOU CAN EDIT PLAYERS THAT ALREADY EXIT AND CREATE PLAYERS AND TEAMS!!!! now that's fun!!!!!!! i suggest you buy it like....... NOW!!!!!!! Gimzon portate bien!!!!

watch out gamers, what do you get when you combine astounding graphics with unprecedented player movement and dexterity? Arguably the world's most exciting soccer game to hit the markets thus far, with nothing sub par about it. Konami upholds its tradition as a heavyweight contender in sports action gameplay. February 2004, bigger news than Janet at the super bowl.

WOW!!!! Winning Eleven 7 is a step way above 6. If you loved 6 then this is a no brainer! Gameplay is even tightter then before plus all the new options are just over the top. I spent a couple of hours just going through the options without even playing the game! Graphics now are on par with the FIFA series. Great! The only things that dissapointed me were the sound which is still only available in mono and stereo and the fact that there's no online option. Other then that this is probably the best soccer game ever released to date!! get it now if your a true soccer fan!!

If you want to experience realistic soccer gaming and complete control of the game than WE 7 is the right game. If you want great graphics and an arcade feeling of the game than FIFA 2004 is a better choice. In my opinion WE 7 is by far the best soccer sim in the market. The game's graphics are now comparable, if not better to FIFA 2004. The game play and realism is way ahead of any other soccer game in the market.
WE 7 has a lot of improvements which I can't go into detail because of the time. However, I will say that the sound and graphics has improve dramatically and the game play is even better and more realistic than before. The movement of players in the field is incredible and so are the strategies that you can implement during the game. This is currently the best soccer game in the market.
Perhaps the only drawback is that Konami will not invest in acquiring a FIFA license and as a consequence we are stuck again with teams such as Chamartin (R. Madrid), Cataluna (Barcelona), Trad Bricks (Manchester) and so on. You can still edit the teams name, kit, and flag to make it as close as possible to the actual team, and if you are lucky Konami included the real call names for some teams. In addition to the previous comment, I am confident that someone will or is already working in a FAQ that will show the steps for editing team flags and kits to be more relistic (If someone has more information about this please let the public know).
In conclusion WE 7 is the most realistic soccer sim available for the PS2, and if you don't own a PS2 this is the very best reason to get one.

Best Sports PS2 game of 2004--even better than Madden!

I pretty much play only sports games on my Playstation 2, and this rates up there with Madden 2004 and ESPN NBA Basketball as the best sports games I have played this year. This game is so good it will actually make you want to watch soccer, and when you do you will realize how this game almost eerily recreates the atmosphere and gameplay of real soccer. It truly makes FIFA 2004 seem laughable--and FIFA 2004 is a pretty good game by sports games' standards. Warning: this game is fairly complex, with a 50+ page instruction booklet, and can cause a little frustration, but once you get into it you will be completely absorbed and probably push aside all your other games for at least a month. Here are some suggestions to help you out if you have never played before: 1. Start with the basic controls on the two star level (three stars is the default, and is really tough on beginners). 2. Go to training mode, click on Challenge Training, and prepare to have fun and learn a whole lot about how to play this game. These are much like the Madden drills, and teach you skills such as passing, shooting, dribbling, defending, and free kicks. 3. Play in Cup Mode with an international power such as Brazil or England. You should be able to pull out a good finish. 4. Check a website like www.cheatcc.com or db.gamefaqs.com and go to Edit Mode and rename the club teams. Most of the players already have their correct names, but it is nice to know when you are playing Manchester United. 4. Now you are ready for Master League, the greatest franchise mode in any sports game. You will start with a mediocre team, so when negotiations come up grab an unlocked player or a player without a club. It is okay to go in the red as long as you are not under 10,000, and have money when the next season begins. 5. Go to options and play around with the language of the announcers. Even if you don't understand a word of French, Spanish, German, or Italian, these announcers make the game a lot more fun! Gooooooaaaaaaaaalllllll! If you have a reasonable amount of time to dedicate to a soccer game, this is the one to get. It is so great it actually will make you a fan of this incredibly popular international sport!
