This game is awesome except for one minor thing. It freezes A LOT. You'll be in the middle of an important thing in the game when it freezes, you have to restart the computer and start your big event ALL OVER AGAIN. This has happened to me so many times and I am starting to get frustrated. And it's not just me either. My friend has this same game and it happens to her too. My advice: Every day, play until you get to a savebook. Then turn off the game and don't play it fot the entire day. Repeat until you have finished the game. Hope I helped!
This game is OKAY

This game is good but will never live up to The Chamber of Secrets. The graphics are really good but the game freezes so much on my computer that I mostly play it at my friend's house. The final exams are really hard. I am still stuck on the Draconifors/Lapifors final exam! The Womping Willow, Peter Pettergriew, and werwolves, have almost nothing to do with the game, even though they do in the movie. And what's with the big path in the Womping Willow full of skeletons?!! In the movie Harry and Hermione just walk through a little tunnel and they're at the Shreiking Shack! I really don't get why after Harry defeats all those dementors at the lake one time, then goes back in time, reascues Sirius and Buckbeack, goes over to the other side of the lake, and does it all over again! There are some positive things though. Portrait passages help you get to where you need to be faster and Fred and George's shop is a cool new feature too. There could be more spell challenges though.
Hope this review helped!
PS: if have the Prisoner of Azkaban movie and have ever watched the game preview on the extras disc, YOU ARE SEEING NOTHING FROM THIS GAME! I'm not sure if the is some better version of POA out there, I'm only sure that is there is, it's not this.
A must-buy game

I loved playing this game, and since I've never played another HP game I have to say itwas the best.
this is why I liked it:
1)THE GRAPHICS ARE INCREDIBLE!!
2)bean,pumpkin pasty,& cauldron cake collecting is great fun
3)the ice slide in Harry's glacius challenge was a bit like the 1 in 3D Mario
4)you get 2 fly around as a mini,fire-breathing Dragon in the Draconifors/Lapifors challenge, which is really cool!
5)great mini-games like Hippogriff ridin' which is a bit challenging but great fun!
6)cool secrets 2 discover
7)you get to fit the controls the way you like them
some things I thought could be improved:
1)some things were not explained fully such as HOW Wormtail betrayed Harry's parents.
2)the great hall was missing
Overall:this was an excellent game, the explanations were not full, but otherwise I
loved it.

Different (but not necessarily better) than the Console version

I originally got this game for Gamecube, and after completing that version, I decided to get the PC version because I heard that it was different.
The layout of the castle is COMPLETELY different from the Gamecube version. The layout of the casle in the Gamecube version seems to be based more on the movie than anything else, but it seems like the makers of the game used their imaginations more when the designed the PC version. Also, there are different spells, and different items to collect. However, I liked the Gamecube version better (I don't know about the PS2 or X-box versions because I don't have them).
The Gamecube version was more challenging, flowed more smoothly, and lasted longer. The PC version, on the other hand, was too easy (I completed it the same day that I got it) and seemed to consist mostly of running around collecting Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans and other items. The PC version was also kind of frustrating because there were lots of characters that encouraged you to explore, but you could never find time to explore because you had to go to class and what have you. Only when you get to the end of the game can you explore freely. In the Gamecube version, you can explore at the end of every day. That was another thing that frustrated me about the PC version; it felt like the story took place over one long day.
One thing that I liked better about the PC version was the graphics. The Gamecube version's graphics were a very low quality and looked rather rushed. The PC version's graphics, on the other hand, were very richly detailed. But graphics, in my opinion, are very unimportant when it comes to video games.
My final suggestion: If you want a game with good graphics, get the PC version. If you want a good game in general, get the Console version.
This game is amazing, but its predecessor is better.

This game is not as long as Chamber, but it is still extremely enjoyable.
The downs-
1. There are not as many chances too explore.
2. You feel tired with challenge after challenge. There aren't many breaks and side quests.
3. The whole environment is not as lively.
4. You can only trade wizard cards.
5. You cannot make potions.
6. There isn't much motivation to collect the cards.
7. No Quidditch
8. No dueling.
9. Secrets not so cleverly placed.
10. You do not get to choose who you want to be.
The ups-
1. There is a great variety of cards to collect- wizard, witch, hag, vampire, dragon etc.
2. You can revisit challenges.
3. The grounds are much better.
4. Before each challenge, you do not have to master the spell symbol.
5. I love Lapifors and Draconifors spells.
6. There is transfiguration.
7. The Bean Bonus Room is amazing.
8. Many more floors in the great hall.
9. Fred and George's Shop is great.
10. You can collect pumpkin pasties, cauldron cakes and beans for currency.
11. Portrait Passwords are great fun.
12. Good change to be Ron and Hermione sometimes.
13. Many creatures and amazing spells.
All in all, this game is fabulous, and if you don't have it, you MUST buy it.
Falling short of its predecessor in almost every way

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban could have been a mediocre game. There are some strong points, such as flying Buckbeak and great graphics, but there are so many things that are surpassed by the Chamber of Secrets that this game is at best only a vain attempt to live up the previous game. The story is almost entirely told not by the player but by the cutscenes have the same problem with the related movie: overacting (facial expressions are WAYYY too dramatic and character voice is overdue). The characters are annoying with their goofy movements and good-for-nothing lines, and I couldn't care less if my character is killed in the middle of the mission. The gameplay is smooth, though, but not as good as in the Chamber of Secrets (e.g. Harry cannot run around and cast spells at the same time). The levels are far less creative and complex than the ones in the previous game, and the numbers of them is even more pathetic. With just two non-class levels, I suddenly found near the end of the game. Overall, this game makes the player do a number of semi-related stuff without making them feel being an actual part of the game. It is much simpler, to be sure, but does that really matter? I beat the game within 24 hours (I repeat, 24 hours for a person who has serious problem playing Jedi Outcast), and I feel far less satisfied than I was when I completed other harder games.
I don't think I really care about playing as Hermione or Ron, either because the characters are really annoying, or this is just a bad game. I was really happy when I just played as Harry in the previous games.
GOOD GAME, EA GAMES' LAST GOOD GAME, LOOKS LIKE...

This was a great game. I enjoyed killing the dementors, casting new spells, and most of all, I can now control Ron and Hermoine(I spelled that wrong I think), just too bad that they ech only know the spells that come with them. ANYWAY, IF EA GAMES MESSES UP THE 5th GAME, THEN IT WILL BE TRUE THAT THIS IS THE LAST GAME OF HP THAT THEY didn't screw up on. Buy this one, but never even consider the fourth, I mean...look at the ratings!
Wow.

I love this game! I have all the HP movies and all the games! This one is my favorite, though. I like how the only treats are not just beans. I got a little tired of them. I think the beans in the 3rd game are more realistic cause they are smaller. And then there are pumpkin pasties. And cauldron cakes. I also likethis game because you can play as all 3 characrs. How Are those "realistic and beautiful" graphics? My game looks very fuzzy and does not have those wonderfull graphics. I don't think my computer can really support them. hmm. I love prof. lupin's carpe retractum challenge! You have to dangle over bottomless plunges, though. The bean bonus room is where all the beans live. The draconifors-lapifors challenge is really cool. You get to play as a charmed dragon or rabbit. In the glacius challenge you slip and slide on icy drops and teeter over bridges over bottomless gorges. Also, you can explode imps. Hermionie's cat,Crookshanks, causes alot of trouble. The secret places out on the grounds are-oh! I have to leave! See ya! -Alek Salka

Another really fun installment (for PC) in the series, but there were several disappointments.
Pros: - Challenging levels with replay incentives
- Fun and interesting secrets, gorgeous graphics (the rabbit in Hermione's challenges & final exam almost looks real)
- Interesting flying aspect with the Dragon and Buckbeak (although the Buckbeack challenge is supremely challenging to the point of frustration)
- Familiar musical cues as in previous games
- Exciting dramatic sequences
- Love the addition of Fred & George's shop and the picture passwords - added a whole new level of fun.
Cons: - Where the HELL is Professor Snape??? One of the MAJOR characters in the series is MISSING from this version of the game COMPLETELY. This is inexcuseable.
- In fact, MANY of the other characters seem to have been edited out or forgotten entirely. Madam Pomfrey (a part of the last game)? You can't even get to her ward, let alone catch her anywhere in the game. Professor Sprout (also a part of the last game)?? Professor Trelawney?? Surely some little mini-game could have been devoted to HER. The list goes on...
- And why don't we get to go to Hoggsmeade?? That would have been a really enjoyable sideline.
- These aren't the only changes you see from the last installment in the series (PC version) -- the layout of the castle itself, in addition to the grounds, have changed COMPLETELY and drastically (similar to what they did with the set for the film of the same name). Sure, the game itself LOOKS better, but why did they decide to completely delete the Great Hall, for example?
- And why aren't the house points important anymore (no hourglasses, etc. anywhere to be found)??
Much of these deletions or edits add up to a very fun but very short game. The parts of the game left are really enjoyable, but there just aren't enough of them. Consequently, what I found particularly frustrating was reading about the versions of the game designed for other platforms -- these versions have whole spell challenges completely GONE from the PC version, as well as numerous other mini-games and levels, etc. Frankly, that really ticks me off -- the whole reason I play PC games and not console games is because the graphics are better and in general (up until lately, it seems), the games were better. Yeah, my 'platform,' the PC, costs more than a silly little PS2 etc., and I have come to expect getting a superior game for that reason alone, not to mention for paying the high retail price. So to receive a drastically shortened and over-edited game is very disappointing. Just when you're really settling into enjoying your progress in the game, the term is over, you've collected almost all of the cards, found all the secrets, beat all three (only THREE?!?!??) of the spell challenges and passed your final exams, completed the paltry few mini-games there are, and the only thing left to do is finish those dratted Buckbeak flying sequences (which really do become ridiculously challenging towards the end of the set of five). Where's the rest of the game???
Overall, I recommend this game as a really fun addition to the series, but it definitely leaves you wanting more, more, more (and if you'd paid the asking price when the game was first released, it probably also left you feeling like you'd wasted a lot of money). Buy it at the current price, if you haven't already -- it's worth an amount much closer to that.

This game is unlike the others. It is a lot more fun and interesting! You start out in a train where all the students have something to say. You are already battling monsters and exploring the train. After that you start lessons and you get to be all the characters! You do so many things and a lot of it you can do over and over. So buy the game, pleasant encounters await you!
