Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban:

Have you ever wanted to become a wizard? Well here's your chance. Get Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. You get first eye view of what being a wizard is like. Get on your hat and cloak. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the game.
This game is very first-class. You will feel like you are an actual wizard. Have you ever picked up something and didn't want to put it down. Well this is what Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Once you pick it up, you don't want to put it down.
Running trough Hogwarts will make you feel that you belong to that school. You better watch out and not get caught. Speaking about getting caught, look out for all the knights. You also might want to look out for all the things that crawl around and fly around. Get as many bertie bots as you can. Look in places like desk, statues, and cloaks.
This video game is very easy to understand. Don't worry about which buttons to push. Down near the bottom of the screen the game tells you what to push, when to push the buttons at the right time. Be as quick as you can. After five to eight seconds the hint will disappear.
This is a good video game because it work's with play station 2, game boy advanced. This game is 30.00 dollars at wal-mart. The rating of this game is E for everyone. Kids younger than 6 years of age might get a little scared. If you like action I would highly recommend this for you.
Once you play this game you will feel that you're a real wizard. Get on your toes and go to wal-mart. Cast that first spell, but be careful don't hit anyone. In addition to all this you might want to try out this game. Don't forget this game is rated "E" for everyone. Hope you have a fun adventure.

Too short and too easy

Sorry to disappoint but this game is way to easy for an adult. For my 7 year old son, it was fine. There were no scary monsters like Aragog the Spider in COS and no impossible deeds like chasing Malfoy and Quiddich practice in the Sorcerers Stone game. Unfortunately, having mastered both of those games, the POA is so much easier to play and much shorter to get to the end. There were also no side games to play like the Dueling Club in COS. There were also no sneaky re-programmable debug modes to cheat the game with. In SS, you could give Harry a super jump or extra energy when he ran low. In COS, you could give Harry the ability to walk thru walls. There is a secret room in the tower of the Gryffindor common room that you can only access by walking thru the door. That leads you to a secret Gryffindor Challange and takes you on a hidden tour of the entire Gryffindor common room. The only way to access this is to debug the program.

Unfortunately, in the POA there are no debug modes, no secret rooms, no extra little challenges for TECHIE'S like me. And the challenges that they DO have like the Carpe Retractum challenge are short and simple.

If you are an advanced player, this game isnt for you. If this is for a child, great. And if you are a big Harry Potter fan, it will satisfy you.

Third time's the charm! POA great-

After purchasing the other 2 Harry Potter games for PC I find the 3rd game to be the best. Issues such as difficulty saving games and very annoying chocolate frogs are solved in this game and small details like the ability to skip some cut scenes and a bonus bean room make Prisoner of Azkaban move quickly and with a great deal of fun.

There are joint spells, Fred and George's shop and a flying hippogriff challenge that, while fairly tough, is very enjoyable. The graphics move much more smoothly and EA Games seems to have mastered things like flowing robes and mouths that match words. All in all, very happy with this one.

Better and Better

This game is unlike the others. It is a lot more fun and interesting! You start out in a train where all the students have something to say. You are already battling monsters and exploring the train. After that you start lessons and you get to be all the characters! You do so many things and a lot of it you can do over and over. So buy the game, pleasant encounters await you!

Pleasantly surprised!!

Upon getting this game I half expected it to be a simple kids' game along the lines of most kid's movie license games. So I had pretty low expectation to begin with, even if the games comes from EA.
Well, I was right, that it IS a simple kid's game. And there's only three (yes, three) real levels, after the LONG tutorial "lectures." But I was pleased with sheer amount of details (artwork/buildings/etc) they put into it. There's tons of hidden passages to get lost in, and many collectables that actually do have to do with the series.
Also the game engine itself is pretty well programmed and you can almost trick yourself into thinking that the title is a regular 3rd person action adventure platformer.
As a follower of the series, I'm pleased how this game turned out...I just wish it was a little more challenging and a bit longer. Keep in mind, if you have ANY experience in any video games you will breeze through the actual levels.

A GREAT GAME!!!!! review for everyone!

I know everyone says this game is boring and short, but it isn't!!! I'm really academic (and i loved reading everyone else's reviews) and don't play many games, and for me to beat this was a real accomplishment. The game has great graphics and "special features" such as playing as harry, ron, and hermione. there is no quidditch (YES!!!!!! that was frustrating in the second game) but you do get to fly buckbeak the hippogiff and control a small dragon. i loved playing hermione's challenge because it gave you a break from other annoying and a little frustrating parts of the game. i also think that ea spread out the frustration so you wouldn't want to throw your computer out the window all of the time. and, if you have already beat the game and think it's short, try only playing a little a day and it'll feel longer. if you think this game was super easy, i think maybe you played it too often. you have to give it a break and do something else (something academic??? :) ). the only bad thing about this game in my eyes is that it doesn't really stay true to the book and the plot gets a little confusing. if you haven't read the book (the movie doesn't help either) you might find this game confusing plot-wise. however, if you're only looking for great gamplay without much frustration, i highly reccomend this game.

Horribly missed opportunity

I agree almost completely with the review of darkgenius. Read that review. But darkgenius gave 4 stars while I give only 2. Why? Because it seems that no thought went into the game at all. There is nothing intense. Nothing challenging. Nothing surprising. Nothing to put you on the edge of your seat.

The Chamber of Secrets game was infinitely superior, more innovative, longer, more intense, had a real storyline, and had a real climax. This new Prisoner of Azkaban game has none, despite the book's being the best of the series and despite having access to the wonderfully dark and intense new movie.

Boo.

The easiest of the Harry Potter series games

No Quiddich in this game...some have complained, but I was glad for the break from it. I found the first two games somewhat hard to complete and lacking in saving opportunites...well, this game is much easier to get through, and saves are much more frequent (in fact too much at the beginning). The hunt for cards is offset by the opportunity to purchase them for Bertie Bots and other assorted treats. The ability to play as each of the 3 major characters is a welcome change...but as you play and come to the final exam for each character, you'll be wondering where the rest of the game is...Lots of great changes here, but it will leave you wishing for more gameplay!

Very well done

This was an excellent game. It's maybe a bit too easy, but that's all. I thought it was very well done because there are so many little sub-games and so many little successes that you can have in the game that you never get bored. It's really my sister's, but I am hooked. :)

Nice game but could've been better

The new Harry Potter game has very good new characteristics, but unfortunately some of the good old ones are gone.

The settings and castle grounds are enormous; you could spend half of the time in your game just fooling around.

Unfortunately in the third episode Harry Potter is old enough to walk around at night, there are no more prefects around that chase you at night and make you restart the level .,. and even though that may seem harassing ,I liked to sneak past prefects and make them chase me...
In this new game there are more spells than the older ones (like the transfiguration one and Patronus charm!!) but I still think there should be more spells you could use.

The best thing in this new Harry Potter game is that your friends (Hermione and Ron) are nearly always with you and they can help you "shoot the baddies down",(this is why i'll give it 4 stars instead of 3).
You can also cast triple spells to open some locks or to kill stronger monsters, and that is awesome.
In different parts of the game you switch characters (you impersonate Ron or Hermione) but still have your two friends helping you.

Fred and Georges shop is still there and you can buy all sorts of cool things in their shop, a thing that struck me was that in this game if you collect wizard cards your hp's don't become larger.

The thing that mostly disappointed me was that there were no quidditch games and no prizes to win, like the house cup, but sometimes in the game if you complete levels you get to go in the prize bean room which is great fun.

Anyway the game is worth it's money.
Buy it!!
