I just want to say that giving this game three stars out of spite is stupid. Yeah they tried something new with the fatalities and it has its ups and downs but it makes it a lot easier to bust them and there are a lot of options to do. But his other complaint about the ending was stupid. In deception when you beat the game all you saw were pictures that were presented comic book style which was so boring, this one isnt much better but is no way worse than the others. With that being said I will give my thoughts. I personally think this is the best one to date. It brings back virtually every character ever made in the game. Even the secret ones like chameleon, rain, and noob saibot which you can use by himself and not have to team him up with smoke like in deception. It also comes with part 3 with the original graphics and movments which is fun to reflect on how far the game has come. As well as some bonus games like a mario kart style racing game this is fun and funny to watch. But with the insane selection of characters and the option to do air combos and the huge improvement in konquest mode this game is untouchable. It would definitley have been cool to also have original fatalities per player but besides that this is probly the best fighting game to date.
The Final Mortal Kombat game is one of the best games on PS2/Xbox

First of all I will say that this is really the final MK game that will ever be made (unless they make a new one, but even then will it have entirely new characters and all of that). Every character in the MK series is in this game (Mokap, Styker, Motaro and even Meat from MK4 and Chameleon from the PSone version of MK Trilogy), which makes it great to have battles that we never got to see before. The Collector's edition has an extra DVD with is and (I don't know if the regular edition has it) the arcade version of UMK3. The only thing that does disappoint me is the fatality system. It's a good idea but it would be better if you had a choice of doing that or see a cinamatic fatality (which this game could of been on a dual layered DVD). thank goodness that the Konquest mode is a whole lot better than the Deception Konquest mode, which wasn't great. Overall, this game is a must have in your PS2 collection (I mean for MK fans).

This game is great!! You start off being able to choose from all the old characters, and there are a couple of new guys to unlock too who are pretty sweet. ("Meat" tears it up once you un-lock him)
At 1st I was bummed about the fatality system (like a lot of posters before me), but after a few days I figured it out and now I realize that it is way better than the old "single fatality" system. In Armageddon, you can still have Sub-Zero rip out spines (Down, Down, Circle) and there are a bunch of new cool finishers too. For example, you can use any character to rip off any other character's "Thigh" with (Down, Down, Square). To top that off, you can string together as many finishers as you are able to key in during the avaialbe time, so the sky is the limit.
The arena's are much improved too. A lot of them have special stage finishers that add some strategy to the fights.
Konquest is a little boring. It reminds me of a stripped-down Double-Dragon.
Motor Kombat is a nice addition. It is a low-budget mario-kart, each character can only use their 1 special item, but it is still pretty fun. It is a nice compliment to the rest of Armageddon.
I've had this game for about a week, and I like it more each day. It takes a cuople of days to adjust to some of the changes, and realize that they are improvements.

Ed Boon and co. worked very hard to make this the best fighting game on current generation consoles, and the results do not disappoint. A must have for any hardcore or leisurely gamer.

Great mindless gameplay I love kicking the snot out of the other fighters butts but the best part of the game is that you can use your envierment as a weapon too! and use anything as a weapon too! I mean this is one game where you can impale your enemy with a thorn bush. beat them to death with a paddle. grind them to death in a huge grinder. inject snake venom into a fighter. throw them into a big thorn filled bush. break their head open with a rock. smash their head agenst the ground. throw them into a creek. throw them into a deadly river. drown them in water. and so on and so on but its a great game.

This is a very good game, a must have for any die hard fan. Midway went all out for this game. The graphics are awesome and the game play is just like the previous MK titles. The only draw back is that with over 60 characters the fatalities are not the same, however the new kreate-a-fatality system still gets the job done. Online play and Motor Kombat is great as well.
