Gran Turismo is an icon

This game adds to the icon, Gran Turismo hasnt let me down thus far, they have only been improvin the game with each release.

It gets boring after 1 or 2 days. The graphics are great but i dont like the way the car looks on the screen during game play. Dont waist money cause of what other people say rent the game first.

Poor driving simulation

After the incredibly realistic driving simulator Gran Tourismo 2, I expected GT 3 to be an easy buy. I was so certain that Sony couldn't mess up on this game that I almost bought it without renting first.

The biggest problem is that GT 3 is no longer a driving simulator !!!! All cars feel extremely fake compared to GT 2. I upgraded a sports car to the top of its capability and then noticed the game changing driving dynamics to compensate and make the game more "challenging"!? GT 3 feels just all other looser racing games, sorry.

Another big problem is that there are only 20 or so cars in the game. Unlike the 200+ cars found in GT 2, which, by the way, all had their correct handling/braking/etc. properties, including exhaust sounds.

The graphics of GT 3 are a bit overrated too. The cars just look like they have too much wax. I prefer the look of GT 2 much more. The gloving disk brakes are cool for about the first hour of gameplay.

Yet another problem is the replay camera, which is nowhere nearly as alive as it was in GT 2. It is rather dull compared to GT 2.

I honestly think that some other people worked on Gran Tourismo 3. What happened to those who made the spectacular-in-every-way Gran Tourismo 2?

Good thing the renting cost was a fair $3, unlike today's $6 game renting.

This game turned out to such a disappointment, that if I had bought it first, I would have probably given up games altogether. Due to luck and low-cost renting, the console game industry continues to see my money.

I don't know why some people are giving this game bad reviews. The reason sony didn't give a new game engine is because the old one was perfect! The cars handle just like in real life and the graphics are tremendous! At first I didn't think the graphics were anything special, but, that's because I was comparing them to movies and not video games. Ignore any of the reviews that give this game for stars or less!

my friend recently got his hands on a demo of gran turismo 3 you get to pick from a few cars and 1 race track as far as i can tell nothing will beat this game except MGS2 sons of liberty. pure perfection

This is the most extrodnary game ever produced by anyone. With it's absoulutly amazing graphics it is sure to be a best seller. But Gran Turismo games are not just about eye candy. In simulation mode you earn money by winning races so you can by new or used cars or improve one of your own. Although before you get to race for the big bucks you must get the licences which can sometimes be a little frustrating but they do improve your racing abilities. The arcade mode is excellent with tons of cars and tracks to choose from you'll enjoy beating your friend for hours. Even if your not a fan of racing games this racer is a must have item for your PS2 library. I've already ordered my copy and I suggest you do the same.

A gaming masterpiece that will blow you away

I, along with millions of other fanatical GT fans have been methodically awaiting the best racing game ever made. It is clear that this game was going to be a winner right from the start. Unfortunately the game has been delayed countless times leaving GT fans everywhere in dismay but the end product will no doubt blow everyone away because this game has had ample time to be refined and fine tuned to be the absolute best it can be. In the end fans will be rewarded with perhaps the most realistic gaming experience they've ever had.

The graphics are the most obvious improvement with visual so realistic it is hard to tell the difference between watching a live broadcast of a race on TV!But that is not all, the 160+ cars that will be in the final game are EXACT replicas of the real thing. There is just about every possible customization feature included in GT3, tons of race modes including the nearly seperate game all on it's own - rally mode. In addition the physics and AI has been futher advanced to provide the most realistic driving experience short of being in a real hi-end race car.

I am eagerly awaiting to do a final review of GT3 when it is finally released in North America but I will be expecting an absolute perfect game considering how many delays this game has gone through. It will half to live up to the hype and I think it will do just that.

Excellent Driving game! Be sure to read the hints, tips, & recommendations...and you'll have no problem taking on GT3 A-Spec. The license tests are great training ground - and when you get to the point of winning some awesome racing cars, you'll just flip! Have patience, save your money up for some terrific upgrades, and crush the competition!

I must say the graphics and sound are excellent, they are second to none. The problem is with the lack of cars, this game is on a DVD and a DVD has 9 times the storage of a CD yet Gran Turisimo 2 has at least 300 cars to choose from. You can tell this game has been rushed to cash in on PS2 new product poularity. This game could have been so much better.

SO overall good graphics, sound lack of depth. Grand Turisimo 2 is still the king.

Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec tries to hide its craptacular and atrocious gameplay with the looks of a gorgeous racer. But then it's like when you look at a movie star on an HDTV, and you see its appalling horrors that lie within it. To start off the controls suck greatly. For example; when turning a corner you will notice how you can't seem to keep your vehicle on the road, and it constantly slips and swerves like you're driving in snow. Another problem; the absence of a sense of speed. When I was driving I never felt the sense of speed that should be in racers. Instead, it felt like I was maybe only going about 40mph or less. Problem #3; the lack of interesting tracks to race on. When going through the various tracks I never felt compelled to look at the environments around me solely for the fact that they were so boring. Problem #4; crappy career mode. Never, in my years of playing various racers did I ever go through a career mode that was so dull and made me feel so unwanting to complete it one day. Problem #5; crappy multiplayer. Wow, what a horribly dull and unexciting way to challenge a friend to a race! Here's how it went; we raced around the boring tracks, swerved like we were driving in snow, and we were totally bored. So, then he took the game out of his PS2 and put in Kingdom Hearts... that is how bad the multiplayer is. The only positive thing; the amazing graphics, that was it.
