Back in 1999 when Playstation2 was first announced one of the first title they talked about was GranTurismo2000.After being, many times, delayed they decided to call it GranTurismo3 as it didn't make any sence calling it GT2000 as it would of being released in the summer of 2001!People thought that GranTurismo2000 would of been just an upgrade of GT2 with considerably better graphics and with fixed up menus! If it was just an upgrade, then why did it get delayed so many times?Simply because Sony and Poliphony decided that GT3 had to be a completly new game with different cars, all new layouts and better gameplay and phisics and with stunning wheather effects that made this game the masterpiece that we are waiting to get released!
The Best Racing Game Ever

I have the demo version of this game, and let me tell you. This game is going to ROCK. The best racing game ever! Better than the first two, better than Ridge Racer, or any other racing game.

This game is really realistic! Yeah, but so would a dishwashing simulation. Analysis: I don't really give a crap about taking each corner perfectly, and braking so that I get the perfect amount of speed. I don't like how my car can't turn with a crap, even if that is how it really is. I don't care. I play games for fun, not for realism. You know what's real? Go outside and play lacrosse or join a street racing team. I don't want my video games THIS real.
Good, Great, GRAN!!!

GT3 is almost everything I had hoped it would be. There are some features I miss from GT2: No more used cars to start the game with...forces you to purchase a Diahatsu to start unless you can win a car by earning all gold in your license test. Also lacks the three different driving views that GT2 had. Other than that, I really enjoyed this game. It has incredible graphics and sound. Definately recommend you purchase one...
The best racing game in history!

This is the absolute best racing game I have ever played, and that includes racing games found in arcades. This is not just a game where you build up from scratch, win some races, and buy faster cars. To do all of this you actually have to choose what cars you buy carefully, win races that will give you enough money to soup-up your cars and customize them, and then, if you wish you can buy fancier cars. You are in complete control. You actually feel pride of ownership! The variety of cars is outstanding, too. In my case, when I started I decided to buy a Chrysler PT Cruiser. Stock it's not that great, but add a lightening kit, a turbo kit, and an enhanced intake/exhaust system and it's rocket city! Oh, and I splurged on some fancy looking wheels, also. They don't enhance performance, but they sure look nice, and it makes the car feel more like "mine"! The multitude of races is also amazing, for example, there's even an "1980's only" race! And WHEN you buy this game, I HEAVILY recommend that you buy the Logitech GT Force steering wheel to go along with it. This is what makes the driving so realistic. This wheel actually feels like a real steering wheel, complete with resistance, and it even jerks when you hit the wall, go over bumps, or when other cars hit you. ...Try it and you'll ditch the normal controller for good, I guarantee it!

I have been in love with the title Gran Turismo since it came out. If you have played the other Gran Turismo's than you know the deal buy it and sit in front of the television (hopefully you have a 36" WEGA) all night long trying to get all the licenses. Well other than that the game is beautiful in graphics, the controls are easy to remeber and the soundtrack is off the chain. Well thanks for reading this and if you have any questions of me about video games email me some other real good games to buy for the PS2 are NBA Street, Red Faction and an all-time classic SSX they all get 5 STARS in my book.

really good game. i like that you can buy cars and tune them up. the only thing i dont like is that you cant buy muscle cars, but the wide selection of other cars make up for it. so does the rally races. they are really fun. and if you like racing with a friend you can do that to. this is one of the best racing games for ps2. i recomend it to anyone who loves racing games.
This kicks the @$$ outta the other driving game!

Alright this is yet so far the best realistic, simulation driving game in the whole entire world yet so far!
Move over X-BOX graphics (Im no X-BOX hater since I have it) and come in Gran Turismo3!
GT3 is yet far the most impressive simulation ever seen in peoples lives!
----------------------------------------
Gameplay= This is a great game for all your peeps that keeps it realistic..but I hate the fact that its too real..The cars really dont move fast as far as other racing simulation but this beats the heck out of every realistic driving!
----------------------------------------
Graphics= Even thou the X-BOX has a better processor, Gran Turismo is the best graphiced game ever! At least one of it!
----------------------------------------
Value=Its worth the great A+ ride but it is missing the gameplay.

The superlatives that exist really dont describe the breadth and length of this game. I had bought the console and was looking for a game that would really show off the Playstations abilities, I am not sure whether this is really the case with GT3 but this game is astounding. Colors, graphics and car content is really awesome. After a couple of weeks of 'getting' into how the game works, I took the plundge and decided to try and do the full story, and now at 68% completed and some 8months later (I still want to remain married !!) it really is addictive... I said to myself that I wouldn't buy the GT4 until I had finished the GT3, thanks to the guys in Polophony that launch date has been pushed back !!.
WHAT A GAME, no wonder it is one of the most sold games for the PS2, or is it a simulator.....
Dispelling the bad karma...

First, this game is amazing. Great selection of cars, amazing graphics and great gameplay. And for anyone that's played the series before, this game is above and beyond the best so far.
The bad: there are lots of complaints about not being able to handle the car correctly. Unfortunately, as you progress further and further into the game, you will find this to be the case. The best way to increase your handling and improve would be to ditch the control stick and pick up a steering wheel/pedal combination.
The most annoying thing I've read is that this game is "too real" for some people. Well, that's what they advertise this game to be: the most realistic driving sim around. If you bought the game thinking something else, that is your problem and not the games.
In closing, this game is a keeper, but don't go in expecting your average driving game.
