I think I need "spidey sences", I CAN'T GET A HIT!!!

All-Star Baseball 2003, What can I say. Graphics- great. Features- Outstanding. Gameplay- Someone cry me a river! The reason this game gets 1 star is because this games gameplay is at an all time low! And as we all know you can't have fun in a game that has horrible gameplay. First off, the battin coursor. You have to guess where the pitch will be thrown before the ball is pitched (duh) and if you have "Spidey Sences" piece o' cake! But I'm no super hero. This means if you get lucky, you'll get between 2 and 4 hits after 9 inings. Pitching isn't great nor is it a disaster waiting to happen, kinda in the middle. There's not much to be said about it. I wanted to rent MVP Baseball 2003 but got stuck with the only baseball game in stock this one! if you want a great baseball game AVOID ALL-Star Baseball 2003! Now I'm gonna continue shopping on Toys R US.com and buy MVP Baseball 2003.

this game was supposed to be online capable but its not. i spent 50 bucks on this game and i took it back to [my local store]. and i e-mailed acclaim who is the maker of ASB, and its been 3 weeks and they havent sent me one response. so in conclusion dont buy this ... game

I don't really like this game the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the franchise mode is awesome. I hate playing the games.

This game has a lot of things to do. If you visit the acclaim sports website you can take a tour of the game. This game is the best baseball game I've ever seen. I wolud like to say one more thing. That is, My name is Dutch, I love you very much, My name is Dutch, Oh Ohhhhhhhh. I'd also like to say that swiss people rock.

Just got the game and have been playing for a little bit now. Unbelievable!!! The graphics, sound, commentary, crowd are amazing. Real to life. I have been onboard with ASB since 2002 and this is many many times above last years game. Very possibly the best baseball game ever.

I have been a long time user of ASB games, all the way back to the ones for N64. Again, it holds true that the graphics are awesome, with each current stadium, and many past ones. Players' faces mostly look like themselves. The hardest thing to get used to is the batting because there is no way to track the pitch from the pitcher's arm until its right over the plate, and the ball arrives so fast. I just got the game today, and that is the hardest thing to do - hit. But I think with practice, like everything, it gets easier.
The sounds and voice commentary is great. Players move a little slow in the outfield chasing balls, and a some pitchers only have 3 pitches to choose from. Other than that, ASB 2004 is a great game to have! There is a ton of extras for the game, from create players, to making expansion teams and in-depth stats.

The graphics and franchise depth are incredible, but the pitching is nearly impossible. Randy Johnson cannot go 2 innings in a game without giving up at least 3 runs on ROOKIE mode. Games can be high scoring affairs when the computer hits anything you throw to the plate even in a perfect spot. They hit pitcher's pitches far more often than they would otherwise. Playability-wise, this game is much more difficult to master in the pitching realm than all-star baseball 2003.

This game has some great features. I had fun setting up a franchise and drafting a team, etc. Then, I started to play the games. It was then that I began to hate it. From the graphics, to the players, to the motion of the game, and especially the hitting, All-Star Baseball '04 is lame. Even EA Sports '02 is far better. I'll be selling this game and buying the new EA Sports baseball. I'm sure it will blow ASB away, and has most of the cool features, too. Don't waste your money on this one! It simply doesn't measure up. I bought this because of the special features and the reviews I read on this site. Trust me, whoever wrote these probably works for Akklaim.

Thought buying was a good idea....it wasn't!

One word......Weak! On the outside, the game seems great, but once you dive into it, it not all what it's cracked up to be. I like a challenge, but trying to guess where the pitcher is going to pitch the ball is a bit difficult on a computer game. Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking for a hit everytime, but it would help if the hitting zone for each player was a bit bigger than the 2mm it gives. Gameplay is a bit slow, and the runners speed to the bags are way too fast. It's almost as if they have a rocket strapped to their back to get them from base to base. If at all possible, preview first before buying. Just a suggestion.
