I got this game and loved it. Lots of new extras and two new charecters. But, the problem is how the game ends. Its a big let down. I had hoped for more. All in all not a bad game and worth the price, but it could have been better...

Now THIS is the 'Game of Life'!!!

When I first got this game for some reason [i didn't have an influence or anything]I looked at the back and said in a confused voice, "Now...WHY did I get this?!" I'll tell you why I got this: This is the most in-depth, longest, hardest game you will ever play! You can do anything you want, from slaughtering demons with 7 of your friends, or trading like mad to get the godliest items in the game. I'm gonna give a bit of a review, but keep in mind that there is no point in getting this game if you're not gonna play online!!

Graphics: Hey, I'm playing with an 800X600 resolution, Mommy!! Does that get the point over pretty well?

Controls: Click, click, click...Hey i just cut the devil's headoff!!Yay!!Yeah, clicking is simple enough but it seems like you are really walking around instead of your digital Amazon, doesn't it?(Oh, and speaking of Amazon, there are 7 character classes; Sorceress,Assasin,Barbarian,Amazon,Paladin,Druid,and the Necromancer, each have unique abilities)

As someone who's boyfriend (now husband)got me into Civ I a long time ago, I must say I love diablo 2. It is awesome, play on battle.net, it rocks.

be prepared online to be the only female out there (besides me) and have a blast.

Ever been divorced then re-marry the same person? Then you know what its like to return to ..., as you will do in the upcoming Diablo II expansion pack:Lord of Destruction. LoD adds 2 new character classes, new monsters, thousands of new items, an expanded inventory space to hold more of those gems and goodies, and other new surprising features that will keep us die hard Diablo players glued to our monitors for days at a time again. You need the original Diablo 2 to play and as this is a continuation going into Act 5, you will need a high level character. This is defintiely gonna be great....Im so ... excited Im gonna buy two !!

If you are a fan of RPG's this is definetly the game for you! You can choose from 7 different charecter classes such as the Paladin,Barbarian,Necromancer,Barbarian,Amazon,Druid & Assasin. The game has single player as well as multiplayer options. On multiplayer you can connect with your friends on an IP connection or go on Battle.net to play with other people you wont know. This is one of the best games that I have ever played in my life! This game is definetley a must buy! Put this game in your cart now! Well I hope this review was helpfull to you!

Diablo 2 LOD waste of time after Diablo2

Diablo 2 is the best game when you start it up and the story is good up till about 1/2 way through the 1ST Act. It declines in quality very rapdily beyond the start of the 1ST because everything is the exact same old routine, just different wallpaper and different moving graphics to click on . .

With Diablo 2 LOD you still can NOT interact with the environment in ANY way -> the code for barricades would use a monster FLAG such as this: Can Not Move or Damage Player = 1 (ie the barricade = a non-moving, non-damaging monster).

Programming for monster artificial intelligence is still, basically ...: Monster Attacks Player Mindlessly = 1, or: Monster Uses Ranged Attack on Player Mindlessly = 1.

To sum up Diablo 2 LOD offers nothing new. The end guy in Diablo 2 LOD is FAR EASIER to kill than in Diablo 2 and as a result the ending is an anti-climax. The map sequence for LOD is pretty much an L shape rotated 90 degrees to the right. That's it. An L turned 90 degrees clockwise. I can do that in MS paint!

No puzzles, no traps (buckets that explode for no reason are NOT traps), no drama (medium-res pictures of the protagonists and the story, for example as a minimum), no mystery etc. Tonnes of useless items lugged around by creatures with Bags of Holding (seriously, how can a rabbit-sized leprechaun carry a Tower Shield or Plate Mail!!! (:O

The best items of course are so rare that you lose interest in the game WAY before you can appreciate 2 or 3 of them.

This all makes me highly suspicious of Warcraft 3 now, and I think the only major difference between it and Starcraft is just different graphics and stats for units. The trailer is very cool however, ALTHOUGH it is a MAJOR SHAMEFUL rip off of the Final Fantasy The Spirits Within dream sequences. You'll see --> just download it. VERY shameful because it cheapens the PC game and film animation industry AND undermines their own work, that can be very good, because it reveals that they have no concsience about capitalising on other people's originality and creativity. Diablo 1 was very ground-breaking, but somehow Diablo 2 and LOD [disappoint] after a very short time. Games companies must stay innovative to cultivate respect these days.

Hi

This game not just a game for most people playing online!
This game is their life. You have no idea how addicting this game is.
I have played Daiblo II for 3 years. Playing Day and night as it were. That's bad isn't it ;)
This game is all about developping the BEST character through skills, and by collecting the Best items in the game, of which some are super super rare and only obtainable by the elite..

There no end in your desire to get better items. And this is the main drive and addiction to the game.
Becoming better and better and obtaining more and more better items as you progress, spending countless and countless hours searching the items, hoping that they drop as you slay monsters.

As stated before, this game is not just a game, it is like a virtual reality where you can loose yourself and be perfectly happy about it.

The online community is very vivid and your character defines who you are and what you are about. You Are the Character.
Addicted players will understand where i am coming from.

I ended up forcing myself into breaking the Diablo Xp Cd in many pieces.

RIP Diablo :)

Good Game With Lots of Problems

When it works, this is the greatest game I've ever played. But there are 2 major things wrong. The real fun of this game is BattleNet multiplayer action. Unfortunately, BattleNet is down once in a while (when I have the time to play) or it goes down in the middle of a game. Then there's bad lag often. Or when they delete one of your characters even when you've played it more recently than the stated 90 day period. Yet, I remain hopeful that these things will get better.

But the BIGGEST problem is what they've done with CD-ROM copy protection. Because of it, the game can take a long time to start, or not start at all. Many times it says that I don't have the CD in even when I do. ...have the ORIGINAL CD in the drive. I suspect that's why this game crashes more than any other I've ever run. Under Windows 98 it crashed A LOT. ...less under Windows 2000. The Expansion Set crashes more than Diablo 2 did.

I'm noticing more game CDs that I can't make backup copies of. It's no coincidence that those same games are the ones that crash or hang on startup (when they check for non-standard sectors on the CD, I presume). I think game manufacturers should have to put a warning on non-standard CDs.

I was a hardcore fan of Diablo II and had been playing for several months. So when they announced this expansion, I went ahead and pre-ordered it online. I actually thought that Act Five was pretty decent. I liked the new characters, the Druid and the Assassin, as well. However, pretty soon, I stopped playing the game. I had played all the characters, Battle.net was always slow and choppy, and I already knew everything that happened, so the interest really wasn't there anymore. Please, take your money and buy a brand new game. Buy one of the Final Fantasy games. Buy anything other than this unless you're a really major fan and you just can't stand not to see the new cinematics, characters, acts, and other items, and reading about them online just isn't doing it for you.

The fifth act is going to be harder than the the acts before and if you have a chara on nightmare or hell dif you'll need to kill BIG d to acces the 5th act. You have to though convert your character to a lord of des.. chara and you can't set it back toa normal diablo II chara. The fifth Act also lets you hire barbarians and mercs become much more usefull because you can heal em. there will be thousands of new items which will make your character much better then he/she was beofre. A thing that I really appreciate about the Lord of des.. is the higher res (800x600) which will make the Grafics look a bit better
