All I can say

This game starts out as a first person shooter until you get your lightsaber. It really takes some skill at first, cause you're not sure which direction to go. It's like a big puzzle but you use your force powers to get around. Great part of this game is your force powers, when was the last time that Star Wars fans got to play around with Dark Jedi Powers?? It's always a little force push or pull, throw your light saber. This game includes, grip, lightning, dark rage, drain, plus a bunch more regular powers like force heal, that comes in really handy. your powers progress as the game moves along. The controls are a bit tough at first but you get used to it. You can save anywhere in the game. For people that have played Obi-wan, the light saber mode doesn't allow as much freedom but blocking laser shots doesnt drain all your force powers. The computer automatically blocks shots fired at you. Many cameos by luke, lando, and others. It's a sweet game, multiplayer is INSANELY fun. And to refute an earlier review, made by someone whom hasn't played the game yet, THERE IS DISMEMBERMENT OF APPENDAGES when you cut people with lightsabers. And lightsaber battle is Greatly more realistic in this game than Obi-Wan. Go Rent it and play for yourself, I rented it and now I want to buy it.

GREAT GAME!!!

For a real Star Wars fan this is a good game to get.It has you playing as Kyle Katarn,a rebel jedi. The game has great graphics and sound. The game switches from first to third person(depending on if you have the lightsaber or not). The multiplay is just plain...AWESOME!!!...Lightsaber on blaster fights on cool locations, this multiplayer is action packed.Overall its a great action packed game .

This isn't your typical run through game, you actually have to think and take risk at times. It does get a little difficult as stated in alot of reviews but that's the thing I like most about it. I rate this just as good as Jedi Academy. My only flaws were the default controls, those were a pain. I highly recommend changing that and the force powers were a pain to use at first but once you got used to it it wasn't that bad. This has a decent story line as all the Star Wars games do and fun to play. I had to use a few cheat codes on some of the levels (like Level Skip)because it gets pretty tough, but I didn't have to do that much, maybe twice. Anyways, this is a definately must have for all the Star Wars fans out there.

don't waste your money.. buy Obi wan instead

This is an absolute travesty to the world of star wars gaming.

I would suggest that you rent it a local video store first if you don't believe me....

JEDI OUTCAST OVER-RATED

I just rented Jedi Outcast for my son and I to play, and was really disappointed. From the graphics to the way the game played, Jedi Outcast was weak. I am really glad that I rented this game first. I am a huge Star Wars fan, but would not buy this game. I am hoping Knights of The Republic is better.

Worthy title, could be better...

I just got "Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast" (what a mouthful!) and needless to say, I was impressed. At first. The visuals were an eyefull and themed appropriately. Everything seemed in order. Then I actually got into the game. Yes, this game was hyped. Yes, it was either reviewed with great scores or with poor scores. Virtually no one beleived it was mediocre. Now, I am a Star Wars fan, nonetheless, I try not to flame a game based on unfair ussumptions. After thoroughly playing the game, I beleive the review I am writing is fair. There are good points as well as bad points. Here is why it deserves a solid 3 stars.

Graphics: Yes, the graphics are superb in most cases and very good in bad cases. Minor lighting situations may cause confusion to the sensitive. In general, most should be very satisfied with the "Quake III" engine generated visuals. The modeling of the stormtroopers is the best yet. The bit mapping is astounding, and the paint job is amazing. Unlike it's predecessor, "Jedi Knight II" uses computer animated cinematics as opposed to live action. The one major flaw is the horrible physics. The one major flaw is huge. I shot a stormtrooper and he flew in the opposite direction (towards me). Or I was in a room suffocating on gas when I died and flew backwards. Overall, definetly a 3/5 stars for graphics.

Sound: Excellent quality. Bad content. The voice acting is nice a best and horrible at worst. Some actors/actresses are simply deplorable. Others are really talented. The music is booming about 1/10 of the time, usually during fights, and off 6/10 of the time. The remaing 3/10 is so low, it doesn't even seem like it is there. Overall 6/10 for forgettable songs I can't hear and for good and bad voice acting.

Playability: Good. Not great. The level design is frustrating and simplistic. The average level goes: Slaughter commando. Take key from slaughtered commando. Walk to door five feet away. Open door. Repeat. The level design consists of the same elements over and over and over. The use of force and lightsabers is generally not incorporated into the game. However, the levels are quite entertaining because they Involve many lightsaber battles and a lot of gunplay. The weapons are lacking in punch. I do not care for the balancing, the flechette (shotgun-like) is way more powerful than any of the other weapons besides the rocket launcher. Nice effort, but average compared to games like "HALO". 8/10.

Controls: The worst field in "Jedi Knight II" is the controls. They are nicely calibrated, however the places they put the controls are horrible. If you are running and want to switch weapons, to bad. The left thumbstick is run and the switch weapons/force/inventory. The weapons usually miss. 2/3 shots are worthless. Nice try, but the controls just don't work. 2/10.

Conclusion: Likable title for Star Wars fans, but just okay for other casual gamers. Disappointment for most "Darkforces" and "Jedi Knight" fans. I was entertained through the single player, but the strength of this game is the multiplayer. The framerate slows with 14 bots, but the game is customizable to the last lightsaber. All in all, 6/10 (3/5). The game seemed rushed.

If you are a Star Wars gamer, you might like this but in all cases, rent before you buy here. I hope I was helpful and until next time...

if anyone should see this in a store iand wonder if they should get it or not my advice is:GET IT!!!! this is the best game since Dues Ex (which by the way the second dues ex is coming out soon) i play it for such a long time until im kicked off the xbox... sure the controls are a bit hard at 1st but then it feels like youre in the game the only problem is probably that you dont start with the light saber and when you do get it and all your force powers you have to go through all these tests and o yeh u should save very often it is really hard game (hope you have enough room on your xbox harddrive!!!) the force powers are: push, pull, speed, jump/mindtrick,heal(which is a bit cheap but for one level you have to use it other wise it is impossible), choke and lightning and have in mind you will upgrade or get a new power after every level. my favorite force power is probably choke especially when you get up to the part with all the bad Jedi dudes and you just choke them and throw your lightsaber at them while they are choking themselves and for heavily armed storm troopers i suggest force pull to get the gun out of their hands and then just push them or do it the old/new way; slash him with the old lil light saber!i am absoluely serious, i have played over five hundred games (much much much more)and this is my second to favorite of all of those games i cant wait for nites of the old republic... these kind of games are the best puzzle action and adventure nothing beats these games!!!!!NOTHING! it is pretty hard tho the first part your very likely to get stuck on is probably... it depends how used to it you are but if a person who isnt very used to this kinda game probably the part where you have to blast open the door people who are very used to it will probably get stuck at the part where you have to customize the codes to exactly match but for people who are extremely experienced will probably get stuck in the sub 0 chamber. i have to admit that this is the best of all the series of the star wars games! o yh one concern abt the graphics, in cut scenes when you c the guys talking their lips move but they dont open thier mouth and it looks to much like he used braces. but all in all it is an amazing game( i just hope that Nights of the Old Republic is better than this game and will be the best game ive ever played!)i havent beaten this game yet because of its amazing dificulty level and all the puzzles but im still awsome at it! when i was begining it the site that i used for a walkthru was [website] if you really need that site use it but im warning you it may make the game all that much less fun.this game is definitely worth your [money] ...

I expected this game to be so much more fun, because of the lightsabers and different worlds. Little did i know, it wouldn't be so hysterically fun. It's not THAT creative. Also, sometimes it's so hard it takes months to get to a different world. You get tired and will give up TOO easily.
The upside: You don't have to just play a mission. Jedi arena allows you to play with others in your household, Jedi against Jedi.
Graphics are great on this video game, but other things just make you think, "And i bought this because?"

THIS IS A AWESOME GAME

This is a very cool game Kyle Katarn is a famous person who defeated the dark lord Jarik. Kyle quits the jedi order after this. He comes back too a jedi after Dasann a failed jedi "kills" Jan.

Okay for XBOX, Outstanding for PC.

Beaten the PC version, In cloud city for xbox. First, the controls for the PC version blow the XBox controller out of the water. There are also some features on the PC that are sorely missed on the Xbox.(3rd person viewing with the guns for one.) Other than that there both the same game in a way. If you have the choice between playing it on either system. Play the PC version.
