Absolutely terrible

This game might not be so bad if it wasn't so hard to find your way around. The camera is terrible and always finds a bad place to settle to. The dungeons are very repetitive and dull. In fact, it is impossible to tell one part of a dungeon from another or how far you have left to go in any of them. And very often, after one of the countless dungeon battles, you will be unable to tell which way you were going beforehand. So you'll end up spending an hour walking back to the entrance, only to have to turn around and go back the right way. As one of the Nintendo Power reviewers said about this game:

"It's more like a trip to the dentist than a quest."

This game was dissapointing

I did not like this game. The music was soo annyoing, and it took too long to travle from one place to another. Also the fighting seans were not pleasing, when you fought you were on a role-playing basis.

This game is a major let down

If you like RPG's, you may like this game, but I hated it! First, the battles are poorly performed. The frequency of the battles are annoying, you'll get tired of fighting the same easy villians over and over again. Not only that, but when you win a battle, it turns your character in a new direction. The story is uniform, you have to do everything in a certain order, completely taking out any form of exploration. The towns are pointless, you'll learn little from them. The bottom line is if you want a good RPG, buy a playstation and final fantasy 7 or 9.

Whats taking so long?

This is a horrible rpg if it can be counted as one. It lacked good plot, had a horrible level system, awful spells, was not mentally challenging in any way, had pathetic enemies, and had a pathetically easy boss.

BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game is boring. You are on a Quest to find your father. And you never do! Second, you fight in duels, and all the monsters are the same. third, a person shoots out water, fire, rocks, cyclones and wind out of no where. Take my advice, if you have the game, Quest 64, Burn It! Make sure you nrent this game before you buy it. Even if you hear all these compliments about it, rent it anyway.

I really didn't like this game........

As said above I really didn't like this game. For one the story just wasn't anything special. I mean your dad disappears and you have to find him and some other magical jewels. *Yawn* Secondly the battle system was HORRIBLE! I mean you're stuck in this big hexagon which if you position yourself wrong or if you want to hit the stupid monster with your staff and you aren't close enough you miss and get attacked three or more times and die and then you start all over again. That happens so often it's not even funny. The graphics are okay, nothing special though. The magic graphics were especially lame though. I mean they lasted for five seconds max.Thirdly the characters were boring, period!I mean the characters had no growth and were about as interesting as a piece of sand paper. Overall this game gave me several headaches and was just plain boring. I guess it's because I expected something more like Zelda and was disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, period.

O.....kay, what on earth is this?

What on earth? I thought this would be a great game. Of course, I was only 6 years old then and always thought everything was good. But back then, the game was too hard... and now, at 12, I see the poor quality of this game. At least THQ redeemed themselves with one of my favorite XBOX games...

Story (0.5/10)
You are Brian and you have to save your daddy and contain the power of some book. We have all heard this before.

Graphics (3.5/10)
Ha ha... the architecture is sucky! The paths in the first town are very "pixely" and have seams. There landscape is way to geometric (I know - most games on the 64 are very geometric. But the landscape looks like garbage with massive amounts of it. The creatures looked OK, but the spells and bosses? Sucky.

Sound/Music (2/10)
The music is not catchy and the music is the same almost everywhere, except it is played by a different instrument in each town. However, the Blue Cave music and Limelin music was so-so. The sounds are too synthetic, even for the 64!

Gameplay (0/10)
Yup... gameplay. This is too linear and beyond belief. There is no money in the game. You are attacked by monsters every few seconds. The monsters get too strong too fast. "Hey I now have 100 HP! Huh? Who's this guy? Crud!" You get your max HP up by being attacked... boring. There are no side quests, collectibles, puzzles, mini-games, etc. Beyond belief.

Overall - (1/5)
I would have given this zero stars. If you want an RPG, buy Morrowind for XBOX. Or Paper Mario. Even Pokemon was a better RPG... and I don't really like it anymore! Don't even RENT Quest 64.

This game could have been tons better

This game is a horrible game. It is really childish and I only recommend it for kids younger than 11. It can get nausiating and you get lost very easily. Also, it really doesn't help you find things so you are basicly guessing when you go place. The monsters are either very hard or easy. One of the worst factors in this game is that it is turn based. You get a hit and then the computer gets a hit. If you are fighting something more powerful than you, you don't even have a chance. Also, enemies pop out of nowhere. If you are trying to get someplace, you can always count on being stopped by more than 10 enemies on your way there. It is not Zelda or even Ogre Battle. This game is horrible, spend your money on a worthwhile game.

*sigh*

I felt like doing an old game review just for the hell of it. This just happened to be it. *sigh* this game flat out well sucks... The only thing i like about it is the old school feel i get when playing it. The other this is that the spells look kinda cool. But in reallity the game has no real good plot combat system or even challenge really. If you wanna play this game, rent it, and then return it. Ya i know it was very disapointing huh, oh well not all games can be good. In all of my reviews..... IF you liked this game I laugh at you....
