Absolutely terrible

This game might not be so bad if it wasn't so hard to find your way around. The camera is terrible and always finds a bad place to settle to. The dungeons are very repetitive and dull. In fact, it is impossible to tell one part of a dungeon from another or how far you have left to go in any of them. And very often, after one of the countless dungeon battles, you will be unable to tell which way you were going beforehand. So you'll end up spending an hour walking back to the entrance, only to have to turn around and go back the right way. As one of the Nintendo Power reviewers said about this game:

"It's more like a trip to the dentist than a quest."

Some people may not agree, but I think that this is a great game! The graphics are great, but the battles and music are annoying. You die all of the time, because when you walk outside of a town, every 5 seconds or so, you are encountered by a villian. They are easy to defeat, but it takes forever to get somewhere. Music? It's nice... but after a while... it get's really annoying, and it starts to sound wierd... it's not just my TV...

If you like games where it's really straight forward and you don't get to do much out of the lines of the point, ( in other words: an over efficient game,) then you'll like it. But, if not, try one of the Zelda games.

Quest 64 took some to get done, but it was definitely worth it. It was challenging, but not to hard to beat and I really liked the variety of action. If you like RPG's then this is one that I would recomend.

I wouldn't bother writing a review about this game if it didn't... so much! ... The game is repititious, confusing, boring, and childish. It pretty much summed up the game right there. Unless you are a huge fan of "puzzle" games and have a lot of time on your hand for something stupid, please, please, do not get this game. I'm usually not this mean, I'm just a little frustrated at the moment.

The Reason Quest 64 is the Best Rpg Game

This game has pretty good graphics and and great spells. The plot (like in most fantasy games) is to save your once-peaceful town from destruction. I would say that overall this game should get a 10 out of 10 (thats amazing for this kind of game I'd say). Don't listen to 1-3 star reviews. Don't waste your money on a game like Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, spend a good $10-15 dollars on this game (if you don't own it already) and get ready to play a game you can't live without. So go ahead and get this game, It's more than worth it!

Not bad for a first try

This game wasn't very bad, but it's no Zelda. It's the only RPG for the N64 with turn based battles to date, though I imagine Ogre Battle will be the second. You play as Brian, an apprentice spirt tamer who is searching for his father who set out on a journey and hasn't returned for a month. Worried about him, you set out to locate him, even though the people of the castle fear your saftey. Through your adventure, you always have a staff and your spells. To upgrade your magic, you collect spirt elements, which are gained from enemies and found on the overworld map. The graphics are very nice, and the envirorments are suitable for this game. Now, the flaws. Battles appear way too often, sometimes you can't get three steps without having to fight. Levels are kept behind the scene, so you never know what level you're at. Also, Brian doesn't talk (is he a mute?) no one knows. The story isn't too exciting.I wish you could ride horses too, I read somewhere that you could ride horses in the E3 update in Nintendo Power. If you beat Zelda and you're a fan of RPGs and you dont want a playstation, this might be the game for you.

Quest 64 is one of my favorite games. I like the game because it has lots of action and different levels and bosses. This is a really cool game that I think anybody who has a Nintendo 64 would like. It also is a good game if you have a playstation because the graphics are alot better. NO offense to those w/a 64. The enemies have much better attacks and hitpoints. After awhile it gets really hard to get elements unless you battle until hair turns grey.

Worst Nintendo game ever

This game is boring, shallow, and repetitive. This is undoubtably the worst Nintendo game I have ever played.

If you want a RPG game with real story, great graphics, depth, and interest, get Zelda. There is NO COMPARISON between Zelda and Quest64.

This is it!! The gem in gaming that shines brighter than the sun!

Quest 64. Amazing. Really! Ok this game is so much dang fun I just couldnt believe it was so much fun! Now Nintendo 64 isnt suppossed to be an RPG system, but this one just plain out blew every other RPG out of the water. Quest has amazing graphics(the best I have ever seen in any system). Some dont like how enemies will pop up out of nowhere when you are outside, but HELLO PEOPLES! I THINK IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT THEN YOU SHOULDNT BE PLAYING THE GAME, EH? AFTER ALL, THE ENTIRE GAME IS PRETTY MUCH FIGHTING THOSE VERY ENEMIES. eh hem, now back to the game's shining assests. The fighting system is wonder ful I love shooting fireballs and ice rays at enemies or just whacking the living daylights outta them with my staff. The last thing I have to say is that with all this nonsense coming out these days(Playstation2 AND 3, Xbox 360, PSP, that weird FLY thing, and other garbage) it is a pure blessing that Nintendo has the respect to make classics that are amazing and never get old. Nintendo, in a world of scams and stupid junk systems, you guys rule! The best games are QUEST 64!!!, Yoshis story, and Super Mario 64. Dont buy into this new crap*AKA Xbox 360* Get the old classics that rule in gaming!!!

I felt like doing an old game review just for the hell of it. This just happened to be it. *sigh* this game flat out well sucks... The only thing i like about it is the old school feel i get when playing it. The other this is that the spells look kinda cool. But in reallity the game has no real good plot combat system or even challenge really. If you wanna play this game, rent it, and then return it. Ya i know it was very disapointing huh, oh well not all games can be good. In all of my reviews..... IF you liked this game I laugh at you....
