Horrid

This is a horrible rpg if it can be counted as one. It lacked good plot, had a horrible level system, awful spells, was not mentally challenging in any way, had pathetic enemies, and had a pathetically easy boss.

BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game is boring. You are on a Quest to find your father. And you never do! Second, you fight in duels, and all the monsters are the same. third, a person shoots out water, fire, rocks, cyclones and wind out of no where. Take my advice, if you have the game, Quest 64, Burn It! Make sure you nrent this game before you buy it. Even if you hear all these compliments about it, rent it anyway.

Story
You are a magician, or 'Spirit Tamer' called Master Ayron. You live in Celtland, a peaceful place. But one day the Eletale Book, that tells of the Spirit Tamer's methods, is stolen and darkness falls over Celtland. Wild beasts roam destroying the land. Your father, Lord Bartholomy, leaves in search of the Eletale book. He disappears so you, Master Ayron, leaves to find him and bring peace to Celtland.
Graphics
The graphics appear nice to some, but the truth is that they are quite the opposite. Pop-up and terrible frame-rates don't help in making this game look very nice. But there isn't any fogging and the land looks colorful and appealing.
Sound
Nice music, but not so good sfx.
Gameplay
This game plays exactly like a true rpg should- no jumping and simple controls. The battles are turn based and can be ran away from if in the correct place. You and your enemies are given a set space to battle in. There are over 50 spells and over 100 enemies. There are also heaps of bosses and the final boss, Mammon.
Conclusion
This game will not appeal to game perfectionists, but the reason I gave it 5/5 is because of how much the game draws you in. I just couldn't stop playing till the end with such varied lands and attacks. It really gives you the feel of a true rpg, something the N64 truly lacks. Buy this if you want an addictive, highly entertaining role-playing adventure.

Terrible Game

I write this review to warn anyone interested in buying this game. This game has the worst soundtrack of any RPG I've ever played, the worst battle system, worst plot development, and worst overall gameplay. I passed this game quickly, and was vastly disappointed with it. My mom bought the game for me and my brother, and she had no idea what she was spending her 75 dollars on. It's not worth anyone's time, and I only played this game because someone I love bought it for me...however, if you want to buy an RPG, save your money and spend it on something worthwhile like any of the FF titles or Zelda.

I bought this becuase it was the only true RPG on the market for the N64. It was terrible. Way too easy to beat - and really slow and annoying game play. The plot is terrible and the items are numerous and confusing. A waste of money if you ask me!

The game was a disaster and disappointment. It was nothing I had expected. The game play is terrible. There was no plot and it was frustrating when you can barely go anywhere. Don't waste your money by the better RPG's and save the frustration.

A waste of money!

First of all, Quest64 is definitely not the greatest game in the world. Second of all, if you think Quest is cool, you should check out the Legend of Zelda games for N64! There is no comparison. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the best, Quest64 is a negative 7 and Zelda is a 12!

Quest64 has an easily understood storyline, as does Zelda. They're both about a young boy trying to become a hero and save the world, to put it simply. But Zelda takes off on the story more and does more with it. It adds more detail. Whereas Quest...how do I say this...doesn't.

The graphics in Quest are poor. It's all in 3D, but it's choppy movement. The battle settings are quite slow and dull, and there's really no excitement. You know, when you look for a good video game, you want edge-of-your-seat action, and you want something that draws you in and keeps you playing. You want to find a game that you can play for hours, but it only seems like minutes. Well, if this is what you want, then you do not want to buy Quest! It's BORING!!!!!

If you're in hot pursuit of a good game, then when you are browsing at the nearby Target or shopping around at Wal-Mart, then pass by the Quest64 game and grab a copy of either Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, or Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Don't waste your time or your hard-earned money on Quest64!

Worth a rent or two. Buy it if you find it for less.

........ Well, this game is okay if you're an RPG beginner of have to do this weekend and drank too much caffeine on Saturday Night. Very, very short game. Also very easy, if you're somewhat experienced in RPGs. It was much easier than I expected. Well, anyway, if you've got a couple extra bucks and nothing to do, maybe you'll wanna pick this up.

Good RPG, short however...

Kinda sad that this happened to be the very first RPG for the N64, but it was however worth my money and time. When I completed the game, it was about 11 hours, about as long as the first disc on Final Fantasy VIII.

The storyline is like a basic old RPG. Something was stolen, and you have to get it back. Not very original, but it's still a pretty neat game.

The one thing that kinda disappointed me was the soundtrack. The music wasn't all that good, and the sound quality wasn't really great either.

But this game is still pretty fun, and I do think that this game is fun. I'll be looking forward to THQ's next game "Aidyn Chronicles", so stay tuned!
