when i first heard that metal gear was coming to the psp i was exited like every metal gear fan was when i played it i was expecting the same gameplay from the old games, but they turned into an rpg sort of despite that the game was good but if they kept the gameplay the same it would have been perfect so i would reccomend this game.

Its not what Metal gear fans want.

what you have here is a great portable system and a great game francise,so why is it that when they made a metel gear game for the PSP they didn't make a MG game with classic gameplay, which WOULD HAVE been a hit,but take a card based formula?
I don't see the DS coming out with a Mario game with card based gameplay...

I don't hate the game,i'm just saying it could have been something much, much, better

Horrible.. just horrible!

I'm sorry, the turn-based thing is just frustrating. Way back in the 80's, computers weren't fast enough to do any great continuous smooth animation. So the turn-based thing was thought to be a good thing, because the computer could 'pre-figure' where you were going and draw up the animation, then execute it. It looked cool at the time. True card game fans will say it's supposed to be this way, but everything changed in this type of game with Command and Conquer. Real time rules. The world has moved past this type of game. Same reason we don't do text-based adventures anymore. Remeber the original Zork? "You're staring at a cliff with two forks in the road." Who wants to play games in this fashion any longer? So this awful interface is terribly boring and quite frustrating.

W.T.F!

um.... no! if I wanted to play a card game, I'd go play a card game! I bought my PSP to play on the subway on my way to work, and this game is so slow that I make virtually no progress during a 20 minute trian ride! I LOVED most of the previous Metal Gear's but 1 hour of playing this game makes me want to lite myself on fire!

Great Story, Great Graphic, Great Game, bad cards

I think this game is really worth the money, because everything besides the card-game design is flawless. Hope they will release more Metal Gear games for PSP

Just doesn't add up for me

I really think that a card-based strategy game just doesn't work out for Metal Gear. The cut scenes are long, and you're mostly just staring at the same image for fifteen minutes.
When it comes to gameplay, I was baffled. I first tried to sneak around everyone, like you should in a Metal Gear game, but that never worked out. Then, I'd try to just kill anyone that was too close to me, but that didn't work because I never got the cards I needed. Then, once I was finished with the missions, I'd always get a D or lower, because they mark you down if you kill someone, are seen, or take to long, which I always did.

Buy this game at your own risk, because it's frustrating and takes some patience.

Great game

If you are fan of MGS, this is must have game. Is very smart that card based game. People complain about how much time to pass a mission and all, You just have to get used to. First mission I died at least 10 times before I pass, but soon as you understand the cards, things go a lot smoother. I guess is good that I have patient. Pretty soon I'll buy "Acid 2" then "Portable Ops"

Not what I expected.

This game is not what I expected for a metal gear game. The title should be changed, cause never had I thought that metal Gear could be played with CARDS!!! Sounds stupid huh? When I first picked it up I almost threw it in the garbage, but I figured I'd give it a chance. So after beating it several times and getting all the cards I realized how addictive this game was. It is interesting how the devlopers left the standard metal gear format and went to this. I think they did a pretty good job with it. However for changing the third person action gameplay to a turned base card action RPG almost, it loses a star out of spite.
