Zoo Tycoon 2 made lots of inprovements and ten times better than the frist one.It has great Graphics.It haves nice songs. You can feed your animals.All the animals are 3-D like you were just at the zoo right now.And has lots of food stands and carts like the cheese cake cart.And some of the Animals are cute when they swim or eat.

1 OF THE BEST GAMES EVER!!!

I PLAYED THIS GAME AT MY FRIENDS HOUSE AND IT WAS THE BEST EVER. I COULD NOT STOP PLAYING THIS GAME. MY FAVORITE ANIMAL IN THE GAME IS THE POLAR BEAR. I FREEFORM MODE BECAUSE YOU HAVE UNLIMITED MONEY. I ALSO LOVE THE GIANT PANDA!! BEAVERS ARE INTERESTING BEACAUSE YOU CAN WATCH THEM BUILD THEIR DAMS. LOVE THIS GAME!! I WOULD RECCOMEND THIS GAME FOR AGES 7-ADULT!!!

With the expansion pack, this game simply is awesome to play. Well, still good with out it too.
Great graphics, tons of animals, and locations. Comes with a freeform mode with no monetary restrictions. You can walk around the zoo. Clean up trash, empty trash cans, clean up excrement, groom and heal the animals. Or hire staff to do it.

My 4 year old cannot get enuff of it. And has played this game, sitting quietly, for as much as 5 hours at a time. And has no trouble using the interface. The freeform mode allows him to do what he wants with no penalty.

Even my wife, who almost never liked playing PC games has been playing it. When she can fight my son off :)

If you or your kids like animals, this will be a hit. Should grab the expansion pack as well!

an awesome game!! A must-play or have for every age level!!

The minute I started playing this game, I loved it!! I'm not a game whiz who spends all her free time on the computer, but I absolutely loved this game!! You don't just have to worry about building pens for your animals, you have to make sure they're in a good mood, and if they aren't, you have to figure out what is causing the bad mood. Maybe they're hungry or tired, or just wants another animal to play with. And don't forget your guests. You have to make sitting and eating places for them, and if you don't your zoo loses fame and money. There are different kinds of zoos to choose from all over the world, and there are different kinds of formats of zoos you can play in too, from freeform, where there is no money limit, to a challenge game, where you have only a certain amount of money to spend. I personally like to play freeform because I can add whatever I want to to the zoo and not worry about costs. But it's really up to you. The only, only thing that is very minor is sometimes when you have such a big file, there are errors and the software shuts down. This happens rarely, but it's happened to me a few times, so just save your zoo often. But other than that, this is an ideal computer game!!

At first I thought, "It probably won't be as good as the first one". Boy, was I wrong! This is everything a Zoo Tycoon game should be. From the graphics to the first-person view, this game is perfect! I enjoy the variety of animals, the great sound effects, and the ability to download updates to the software.

The girls love it

My 8 year-old daughter and her best friends all have birthdays at about the same time, so I bought this game for all of them. They are addicted to it. They call each other and talk about it all the time. My daughter sets her alarm and wakes up an hour early so she can play it a while. They had a few problems to start, but they all figured it out and are looking forward to getting expansion packs!

best simulation game!!!

pros: amazing graphics
1st person view
detailed behaviors of the animals and guests
do what ever you want in sandbox mode with unlimited money
fun chalenge games
real life behaviors of the animals Example: a mountain gorila does not have one mate the male has control over the females.

cons: beside the gender the animals in the same speices look the same

overall: get this game it is fun and challenging

If you have ever played the first game in this series, then you might not find this game so enjoyable. Here are some pros and cons that compare and contrast this game from the first Zoo Tycoon:

Pros:
Great graphics: the graphics in this game were significantly greater than the ones in Zoo Tycoon 1. You can zoom in and get up close and personal with your animals and guests. The animals, guests, and buildings now have better details than before.

Environment Creator: there is a simplier way to make the environment in the exhibit more compatible for the animal, another simple click and drag system. This can also be a con however, if, like me, you are one of those Zoo Tycoon fans who liked clicking around on the grid trying to make the exhibit look amazing.

Cons:
Less Animals: This game has less animals than the original Zoo Tycoon. I kept wondering whether or not I would have to research the missing animals, but I did not find them there.

If you buy this game, be sure to pick up the endagered species expansion. The Marine one is no good though.

Overall this is a good game worth buying and playing. Microsoft could have done better.

I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!! I collect all tycoon computer games and I looooooove Zoo Tycoon 2!! It is way better than Zoo Tycoon 1.

This game is...well...it's great at first but...after a while you wonder,"Why so few animals?" They seriously only have like 10 animals! The lemurs multiply like crazy!*just a warning*(LEMURS ROCK!) Others get unhappy for no reason what so ever! Being a zookeeper is cool, but the controls are hard to manage, and again WHY SO FEW ANIMALS!
