This game is great!... the most common and popular car games only have few cars, few tracks... but with this game you will get so much!!!, it is easy to use, nice graphics, very real enviroments... you will love it, rent it and you won't get back.

Too hard to control the cars

I know, I am not the best race game player in the world, but come on. While there is Need For Speed Underground out there why should I buy this one?

The cars are too hard to control at the turns, you end up hitting the walls, etc and plus you have this annoying Boingg!! sound. There is a huge selection of cars and you need to earn Kudos (tokens) to unlock some of them.

I definitely recommend NFS Underground, but if you believe you can control these cars, go ahead buy it.

Best racing title available.

With tight handling and mind blowing graphics you will never want to play another racing game again! The wonderfully implemented Xbox Live features make the single player experiance as fun and competitive with others around the world as the exciting multiplayer races. A must have game!

It's Not Gran Turismo.

The good:
Great graphics. Large number of tracks and vehicles. Good multiplayer.

The bad: (mainly for singleplayer)
You can't tune or tweak your car (no mufflers, turbo kits, increased displacement...).

Progression in single player mode is linear. You MUST go through the race categories in a certain order. You're also limited in the selection of vehicles you can race in a given category. Pretty much, you drive the default vehicle until you get enough kudos to unlock the best vehicle in the category, then finish off the rest of the races. Completed the category? Start over with yet another vehicle type, learn it's handling, and rinse and repeat.

If you like taking different cars w/ different modifications on races, and the progression of tweaking your vehicle, this game doesn't stand up to GT. Nothing quite like taking a 1000+ HP drag racer and trying to run Autumn Mini =)

If you're hunting for a good arcade multiplayer racing game, this qualifies nicely. If you want one with oncoming traffic and more emphasis on destruction, go with the Burnout series.

WOW! just perfect for its time.

This game came out in 2004 and was by far the best racing game back then. It has over 70 vehicles plus downolad content on xbox live. it has over 10 cities if you download content from live and has many, many races in single player as well as cities and even radio stations with authentic recordings by DJs of three stations for each city.

Its only $20, why wouldn't you buy this game?

Top notch game

Project Gotham 2 is outstanding in every way. It looks and plays great, and the difficulty is adjustable so nothing will overwhelm even the fleeting gamer. A must buy.

Perfect Game for New X-Box Users

I bought this game with my X-Box 4 months ago... This game has so many addictive features, like speed trap, cone dodging, fast lap race and finally you get to race in the mythical race track of Nürburgring.
With the license of manufacturers as Ferrari, Porsche, Jaguar, etc. You get the feel of driving those incredible Cars.. and when you get to use the Ferrari Enzo (F60) you'll love to pump up the volume of your TV set (or homer theater) so you can hear the engine roar!!.
Since it's for X-box you have a harddisk to store the music you want to hear while you're driving.
If you don't have much money to spend in video games, this is a first buy oportunity to play for days (months?) with either the computer or friends online.

The best racer out right now

Now, theres been a lot said here about this game already, so I don't need to mention some things. Its basically the best racing game you will get right now with the most realistic car modelling I have seen. As this is not a game for kids its AI is not completely forgiving, but much more easier than the last project gotham. Its definately moved on in a good way. The graphics of the sceneries are brilliant and very detailed enough to make sure you definately enjoy racing around different streets around the world. The sound of the cars' engines is excellent and it still lets you play custom soundtracks of your choice like before aswel as having 100's of songs already. But the gameplay is what really counts more than anything. The physics of all the cars is excellent, every single one of them has its own feel and handling differences that you really do notice. There are different types of races and challenges to go through which gain you kudos and access to other types of cars to use your kudos to buy. There is very big range of car classes to go through starting from decent road cars, then progressing through onto track racing monsters. Even driving slower cars can be fun though still as the game was well thought out. The game gets better as you get through it which keeps you interested in getting to the next class and unlocking more cars, challenges and tracks. Now, its not nothing like Gran turismo or Need for speed, this is a proper racing game and would only be appreciated by people that like quality and solid gameplay thats not layed out for them. Say, gran turismo, you could win by basically just ramming into cars in corners and getting a boost bounce off them to place you further ahead in a cheatingly easy way. And I won't even start with the sorry over hyped Need for speed that blinded people fall for every year. Its just terrible and has no real handling to it, a complete waste of money. This is definately one for the big boys. In PGR2 the cars also have a great feel to them, you can feel the force from the pad synchronized with the rumble from the cars engines and also feel every single bump and so on on the road as you drive to lots of different degrees. You get car damage which a lot of other racing games leave out and don't give you which is a nice extra. There is no customisation, but does it really matter if there is around 100+ cars to drive around and they ALL have REAL differences that seperates their handling apart from eachother. Just move on to the faster cars if anything. Its an amazing game which will sadly not get as much notice as some of the well marketed hyped and poor made games that are out right now scamming people. But for the ones who know and have sense, they definately know what its about and won't be leaving this game alone too quickly. It's a standard of what we should be seeing. Don't fall for these Need for speed practical jokes, if you want a good arcade racer get Burnout 3 which is class too. I guarantee that if you like cars, or even if you are half interested, you will enjoy this. Its not a complete arcade style game, but more reallistic and a great challenge if you are looking for one. Also Toca race driver 2 is extremely good and compliments this game with Burnout 3. Then after make sure you get microsofts Forza coming out mid/2005 which should hopefully be a complete answer to sony's Gran turismo series. So, for now, I hope I helped you decide well. C ya!

Wonky AI

This is a nice looking racing game that has a few flaws. The other drivers tend to ram you from the side to make you crash, so the other cars can pull ahead. 7 against 1, eh? Not very realistic. The other cars also try to get in front of you and slam on their brakes for no reason other than to slow you down. A plus is the fact that you no longer have to win the race AND get enough Kudos points to win the event as you did in PG1. Worth a look especially used.
