Project Gotham Racing #1 was extremely fun, providing the gamer with many different kinds of cars to choose from, (however most of them had to be unlocked which was a bummer) a lot of maps to choose from, and plus multiplayer mode.
Now PGR2 features even MORE cars then the 1st one, a lot more maps then the first one and what is best is that it has online capabilities.
Graphics: The graphics in PGR2 are amazing. The car models look extremely realistic and the background design is over average. To bad there aren't any cutscenes though...
Gameplay: The gameplay is PGR2 is pretty simple/self explanatory. Race your car and win! Thats practically it. However, PGR2 includes a feature that no other racing game does. Kudos! By cutting sharp turns, you earn a certain amount of Kudos which goes towards your "Kudos Jar." Some races depend on the abount of Kudos that you collect, some races depend on whether you come into 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. It all depends. This, i found was very unique and a cool aspect on PGR2.
Audio: The audio all depends on whether you like rap/hip hop music or not. If you like it, you will give the audio feature a 5/5, if you dont, then you will most likely give it a 2/5 or a 1/5 if you HATE the rap music that blares out of the radio in your car.
Online: The online feature in PGR2 is cool. You can basically only race your opponents online and trash talk them which is very fun! Plus there is downloadable content.
As a result, if you are a fan of Project Gotham Racing #1, you will fall in love with Project Gotham Racing #2!
The greatest racing game on the market today

I'm a big video game player and have tried out racing games since the days of Sega Genesis, but this trumps them all as the best racing game I've ever played.
The original Project Gotham racing was a very decent game with a high level of graphics and great playability. But the sequel is leaps and bounds better than the original. When you want to show someone what Xbox can do graphically, show them PGR2. The detail in the background and the buildings add to the simulated reality of the game.
With over 100 cars, you're certain to find at least one of your favorites, each with its own unique sound and handling. Plus, instead of having no control over what cars you unlock, you earn Kudos credits and use those to buy the cars of your choice.
They've also added to the racing games with a wider variety of challenges and more medal options so each challenge is not so out-of-reach.
Those who liked the original PGR will love the sequel that is better in almost every way. Those who have yet to buy a racing game for their Xbox would be wise to start here. Plus, at it's discounted price, it's a major deal.
Addictive.

I've never been a big fan of racing games but this one absolutely blew me away! A great selection of beautifully-designed cars and locales, challenging formats and the Kudos system keeps the game fresh through multiple replays. Racing against a "ghost" of your previous best effort is an appealing and well-executed feature, as are the area-specific radio stations. The controls are much improved over the original PGR, and you can sense the difference between types of cars. Nice damage modeling though the effects on drivability aren't particularly noticeable. All in all, a top-notch game.
It doesn't get any better than this

I brought this game early last week, and already tis is a must have title for Xbox Live. The cars look much better, the kudo system makes you imrpove your driving skills, and the new cities like Yokohama, Hng Kong, Barcelona, Moscow, Chicago, DC...these have some the best tracks I've ever used in a racing game, in particular the River crossing course in Chicago, the DC Capital Thrills course, and the Hong Kong courses Ive unlocked so far. Time for me to take that Enzo for a few races!
wow, this is an incredible game

I'm new to the xbox, but I've been driving on the pc for years and I've never seen anything close to this! just stunning graphics and easy play. you can easily defeat any challenge in bronze or silver mode with an auto transmission...but Gold? with standard? forget it! it's so deliciously frustrating! A game where you actually WANT to watch the replays just to see how the reflections on the windshield are rendered....amazing. The locations are beautiful and the physics of the cars seems spot-on.
The cons...
no in-car view
If you crash using manual tranny, it's over, you have to shift down down down down to get into reverse.
Damage models need to be improved, cars don't show much damage and don't seem to respond differently when damaged. In most pc racers, if you crash into a tree, for example, the car almost becomes undriveable. It would be nice to see dirt, scarring etc on the cars...and the city for that matter...everything's so clean.
In two-player mode, time differentials pop up RIGHT on the horizon line, so instead of being able to estimate your distance to a turn, you're looking at a text banner for a few seconds. it should be disabled, spoken or moved to one of the lower corners of the display.
The city's are completely barren, ok, so it's a racetrack with the city as a backdrop, but maybe if you put up guardrails in Hongkong and blocked off every street somebody might stop and check it out.
AI drivers are extremely aggressive, especially at higher levels, where to prevent a pass they'll simply crash you, and themselves. This isn't terribly realistic, why would a driver in third place crash himself back to last just to prevent a pass??
So, it's not a driving sim, but an arcade racer, and it's absolutely gorgeous!
Good reviews but they gave it 0 stars? Error

Everybody loves this game and has had nothing but good comments about it. There is some sort of problem with the rating system because people claimed they loved it but gave it 0 stars?
This game is simply amazing. It is the best racing game you can get for any system. It has over 100 cars (all highly detailed and balanced) and over 100 tracks (again all very good)
The single player plays really nice, expcially with xbox live. With xbox live you can put your single player scores up against others on the scoreboards and download other players "ghost" to compete against there best records.
Multiplayer is the best game on Live. You have live fast updated stats and an excellent rating styem. The rating styem is "Kudos" and the more you race and the better posstion you can get more Kudos points so yuo can grown in Kudos rank. The higher the Kudos rank, more cars and tracks you onlock for multiplayer.
This is a definite buy for racing and non racing fans.
Huge disappointment as a sequel

The original Project Gotham had so many things that worked beautifully it was a complete surprise. The kudos system was a fun new tweak to an old genre, the controls were fantastic, and the ability to play your own music was great. Unfortunately, PGR2 has killed a great deal of what made the orignal fun.
First of all, the controls are entirely different, and not for the better. Veterans of PGR1 who had mastered the F50 will be surprised and annoyed at how ridiculously awkward it is to even get the Z28 moving well. PGR1'a cars could be quite difficult to control, but gave you the feel of actually driving a car, rather than the feel of manipulating an object on a screen. It's difficult to explain, bu the "zip" in the driving that put PGR1 over other racers is lost. PGR1 driving physics were simply better, especially concerning high speed turns. You could get more out of the cars with the proper practice.
Secondly and most egregiously, the kudos system has been castrated. The large, bright corner numbers happily ticking away have been replaced by tiny white numbers that do not move. They quietly register in one total and then add to your score. Not only is this a fun-killer, it's an unpleasant pain in the neck-- in order to know what your kudos score is, you have to turn your attention completely away from the road because the numbers aren't as visible.
Furthermore, there are no kudos in multiplayer! This was simply ridiculous and really hurts the game's replay value. Sooner or later, you figure out the ins and outs of the computer and the real fun comes in playing other human beings. PGR1 became legendary for me after the computer had been mastered and it became heated competition between my friends and I. The kudos were an important part of that and there is no good reason why they should not be there. Yes, yes, they are there if you play on X-Box live, but those of us who are not hooked up to X-Box live are paying the price here. I think that is a pretty crass commerical move-- rolling back fun to get more X-Box live players.
The graphics are the only real improvement-- the game looks great. But that's not enough to excuse annoying flaws like those mentioned already and in other reviews. (The time differentials in races show up right in your field of vision, preventing you from correctly judging upcoming turns-- come on, guys, that's just lazy!) Technically it's a 2 star game, but you can still import your own soundtrack, which makes it more fun.
One reason to get this game: NURBURGRING!!

If you are a racing fan like me and you are familiar with some of the great racing tracks of world then you need to get this game because it has one of the most majestic and thrilling racetracks on earth the famed Nurburgring. It is 13 miles of high speed bliss. Try taking The Enzo Ferrari for a spin on that track and you'll see what I mean.
This is a great game but I have some complaints about it:
1. No in car camera mode
2. Too many street circuits and not enough natural terrain road courses
3. Should have allowed more freedom to tune/tweak the cars
Some of it's strengths:
1. THE GRAPHICS!!
2. Really cool cars
3. Very realistic physics/handling
It's not Gran Tourismo, but it's not bad

I have to say, PGR 2 really took my breath away in a way I was not at all expecting. It is far better than the first PGR and finally gives the Xbox something (almost) comparable to Gran Tourismo. Gran Tourismo still touts PGR 2 for realism, but PGR offers online play and beautiful graphics, as well as the added fun factor of Kudos. For any racing fan who owns an xbox, do not hesitate to buy this game. While it doesn't offer any of the vehicle customization options as found in the GT series, it still showcases a wide variety of cars that are a blast to drive, all with their own feel and sound. The sounds in PGR 2 are a true treasure, every car and every type of terrain (from cobble stones to grass) has a perfect and unique sound. At a price of 30 bucks, this game is a must have.
GEE WILLIGERS!!!

Forget about Gran Turismo, this is truly the best racing game out there. The challenges are great and the cars look SICK! If you own an X-Box and have a TV... this game should be right next to your X-Box. Here are some reasons.
GRAPHICS: 5/5 *****
...Oh my god... if i had one word to discribe these graphics it would be fabulous, simply fabulous. No visible pixels, the cars look buttery smooth and sleek, and the enviorment and surroundings are stunning, like the water for instance, it has nothing to do with the game, but the effects are truly amazing
SOUND: 3/5 ***
Well, the sound effects are brilliant, like the engine, skidding, braking, those are all brilliant, bloody brilliant, but the soundtrack is weird man. Like there is some japanese stuff in there that i can barely understand and it gets old and bland, but luckly, there is custom soundrack ^-^
GAMEPLAY: 5/5 ***** (duhhh...)
I fell in love with this game when i first looked at the front cover of the box. This game isn't just racing, it's about earning Kudos(you'll see) and there numerous challenges that you have to do to earn Kudos from time challenges to street races, or my personal favorite, cone challenges. and you grow ranks, and when you grow a rank you get kudos tokens to unlock and buy cars with. Man, you get huge variety of cars, from a Mini Coop, to a FERRARI ENZO!!! hot dog!!! And I could re-play this game over, and over, and over, and over, and over.
OVERALL: 5/5 ***** (hoaaaahh!!!)
Over all this game is the best racing game that you will ever play in your life(Unsless project gotham 3 comes! :P)
