i could go on and on about how this game had so much potential but turned into a disaster, but I'll keep it short. The camera of the game is equal to Mario 64, yet worse because they expect you to react fast to things that you can't see. It simply ruins the game.
The enemies are difficult and so instead of messing around with them, you end up using the same 2-3 moves all the time since they are the best, it gets old really fast.
The game is completely linear and you are going through a tunnel the whole time really, there are no random doors to open or anything extra/interactive/fun like that.
The game is not just "difficult" as many people say, it's a game with advanced graphics based on old outdated N64/PS1 ideas which makes it annoying and a complete waste of your time and money.

If you were a fan of the original Ninja Gaiden games on NES, then you must own Ninja Gaiden on Xbox. Why? Well, because not only do you get this great looking new game, but you also get the three originals, all packed into the same disc! That's four games for the price of one, folks--you can't beat that!
WARNING: This new game, however, is beyond difficult. A lot of people have given up and traded their copies without ever beating it. So I advise you to rent before you buy. Ninja Gaiden isn't for everybody.

This game has been designed so very well, very detailed and very exciting!
everything ryu does make you want to become a ninja, playing this game you WILL "go in the zone" over and over as you try to defeat the game and get back the "Dark Dragon Blade", but i personally love the Dragon Sword.
The graphics are amazing!.......i wont say more you have to see it.
This game is so well designed that you feel like ryu, the game takes you in and maked u think like ryu. Wn you complete the game you understand the kind of ninja he is and realise that after all "it just a game"......lol
BUY THIS GAME you get a 4 in one (unlock the classis Ninja Gaiden 1, 2 and 3)
great game just really hard sometimes

Great graphics and gameplay and really what youd expect from the guys that brought you DOA. The cheep moves also transfer (remember draining a guys life meter only to have him opull every counter/combo in the game) The difficulty level is a roller coaster, just be ready to invest some serious time in playing it and replaying it. If you get sick of dying and restarting from where you began(some place dont have easily accesaable check points). Beyond the difficulty level, the camera can get sketchy, and the absence of a lock on feature which makes targeting the guy that you want totally random. Deffinitely give the game a try if you have patience and it deffinitely pays off. Just dont expect a cakewalk.
Setting the record straight...

Yes this game is akin to Devil May Cry, and yes its extremely challenging. These hardly constitute drawbacks. This game is nothing short of a masterpiece. Let it be known, this game was well worth the wait and you'd be hardpressed to find a superior action/adventure game. It seems most of these reviews were written by indignant PS2 owners who are beside themselves because the game library lacks anything worthwhile. Graphically, its second to none, and in regards to the gameplay, its beyond reproach.
this game is really really awesome
