This game would get a 5 rating from me if they could trash and get rid of those 2 stupid dream sequences...they almost kill the game. Good thing the action can pick up the slack. Different weapons...slow time...good stuff. I'd recommend it.

Max Payne is a great game that consists of violance and blood. This is something a teenager would like for a game. I think of it as James Bond a shooter game. Max is out to find who was in charge of murdering his family. He goes on a violent but fun killing spree. I beat the game in a day, that's how much I enjoyed it. I encourage you you to buy and play this game to have the fun of your life.

I loved this game it was so much fun to play.If u like games that are a walkthrough but u do gotta focus and play hard or else ur (out of luck) and sometime u have to try and get past that part again because it was kinda hard and if u like the bosses to be like only 3 times harder than the toughest bad guy and a really cool storyline and really real life like then u have Max Payne his wife and daughter were killed .the people who killed them were on a drug that night.In the game u get framed for murdering them and he has to fight his way and kill the company owner and everything of this drug.This game is really gory and ya i loved it. instead of health packs in this game you have pain killers and sence the guy gets so high on them u get to do a slo mo to kill ur fos but it only lasts a wile till u have no more and then u have to wait to get it to refill. gameplay=ill give gameplay 5 star but u gotta do slomo. gamelength=il give the gamelength 3 star cause its so short and i beat the game on the second day of owning it. graphics in this game the graphics are pretty good but ive seen way better(but there real good dont get me wrong)i loved this game and if u like it or think ull like it idd buy dead to rights when it comes out. all in all its my fave game for xbox right now .later ps:i hope they make max pain 2.

I enjoyed this! Max Payne is a very good character and I loved the storyline at the beginning but then it gets really screwed up when the old lady comes into it. There are basically 3 parts to this game. Part 1 is great and battling Lupino is fun. Part 2 is what I found boring until your in Punchinello's mansion. Part 3 is fair but I hate that lady though. So overall its a pretty good game, not great but good.

Worth every Dollar (In my opinion )

I Can't believe how many people say that the voice acting sucked and that the Bullet Time feature gets old. Max Payne looks and fells like an updated ganster movie. The voice of Max Payne is very Dark and Kind of scary, Which is perfect for the Character. Bullet Time is Awesome, It never gets repetitive or boring.
What I Like about the game- Realistic 3D enviroments,Good story,
Bullet Time is awesome and comes in handy numerous times.
What I Don't like about the game- There are two parts in the game where Max gets drugged, There are two weird Dream Sequences/Flashbacks where you have to follow a trail of Blood to Find your Murdered Wife and Daughter. Other than those 2 levels this game is a great Buy

... This game is full of action, from the beginning to the end. one of the unique things about this game is that you can dive and shoot in slow motion using the bullet time button. this is awesome because you can dive into a room full of people using the bullet time, and by the time youre slow motion runs out, you've killed everybody in the room and you're lucky if somebody even shoots you while you were in slow motion. buy the game, i have it, and i enjoyed passing it.

This is a great action game. It can't teach you how to be a killer, anyways it's just a game. Parents buy your kids this game even if they arn't 17 yet, trust me they will enjoy this. My parents bought me this when I was 12, and im 13 now. It doens't give me Ideas about being a serial killer. It just gives me action ajoyment. For anyone that first got a xbox buy this game first. And don't foget the guide book to give you hinks and stuff for when you get farther in the game.

Max Payne dishes out thrills like there's no tomorrow, and is definitely one of the original Xbox's finest action titles. It may be a third-person shooter, but that doesn't mean it isn't as cool as any other shooter.
WHAT THE GAME IS: You are Max Payne; a cop whose life has gone down the crapper because of the murders of his wife and baby, and now he's being accused of murder of a cop. So you must take out mafia and gang groups with a large arsenal weapons and descend into the New York underworld of crime, while solving clues and avoiding capture.
GRAPHICS: Time has not been kind to this game, it was released 6-7 years ago and the graphics don't look good, but rather blocky.
SOUND: Shooting, explosions, dying screams of enemies, and fairly good voice-acting.
MUSIC: The music is barely present, but luckily you'll hardly ever notice this blemish because of how much adrenaline will be in your system when playing this game.
GAMEPLAY: Character movement could use a little work, but the gun controls work great. Platforming is a little sticky. The gameplay is fast and feels like its on crack especially during the huge gun battles of dozens of enemies or more. This game is absolutely wonderful, though some low points are some sticky movements and the dream sequences Max Payne has are kinda difficult because they require you to go through maze-like environments.
OVERALL: This game could easily be enjoyed by any fan of action titles because of the great gameplay, interesting story, comic book-style cutscenes, a great selection of weapons (molotov cocktails anyone?), and the awesome slow-motion feature which would later be used in games like F.E.A.R.
THE GOOD: Fast bullet-spraying gameplay, interesting story, cool weapons, and the innovative slow-motion feature.
THE BAD: Some sticky controls and platforming sequences, and ugly graphics. Though most of these problems are easily ignored.

Max Payne is great and doesn't limit you to reality.

Max Payne is great. Although is face is sort of... graphically challenged, the game is spectacular. This game has a really good rep and its not just one of those games you look at and say "I've never heard of that game so it must not be that important,", the game is great and has 10 out of 10 violence and has alot to do with the mafia and the NYPD. It took me 12 and 3/5 hours to beat straight through. MP gives you the chance to zoom into the game and be Max yourself. Now the question remains... what will you do when you walk home from work and find your wife and baby dead with blood spread everywhere? Exactly. Play and you'll see.

This is a tight game despite the constipated look max payne has on his face throughout the game.
