TO THOSE WHO DONT LIKE HALO 2

You gotta be crazy!
I play this game religiously, and even if you get tired of the story mode, (yea, the story was kind of a let down), there's always the online multiplayer (which you can tell, was really what the game was made for...)...
Also, there are so many other "little things" about the game, that those of you who think the end of the game is the end of the game are incorrect, like the skulls, the scarab gun, and many other hidden tricks you can do...
This is the best game I've played in a VERY long time, and I play a lot of video games...
Buy it, it is very worth it...

Excellent Game

This game is very excellent for me Saud. I am loving it and I play it all the time and my poor old dadeo gets no chance of watching his big television. And I don't even let him have a go at the game. That is how much I am loving it.
If you say the game is useless that means you do not know how to play the game rite.

mmmmmm... halo

I'd have given this game 5 stars for just the single player game alone - never mind the incredibly bad ending. But I got XBox Live for Christmas and it's like getting an entirely new game. There's so much more to Halo than the single player game. Get it, blow stuff up, then go online and blow up your friends and enemies.

What Was Already Awesome... Is Now Even Better!

I loved the first Halo, and I'm sure most of you also did. While I was playing the first one, I never thought any FPS could be any better - and that was, obviously, before I put my hands on Halo 2.
Halo 2 was hyped as hell, if it wasn't the best game ever it would disappoint gamers, so Bungie worked on it really hard for nearly three years. I was kind of let down at first when I saw that the most complex textures and details in the CG-like movies appeared moments after the basic ones. It's not a big thing, but it's still something. But when the intro was over, I got shocked... Could those be the graphics? Oh my God! The most incredible graphics I've ever seen in my entire life... It began a little bit like Half-Life, and when I found out I could shoot with two weapons at once, I said to myself: this is going to be the best game ever. Soundtrack and sound effects are far superior than usual even in a normal TV. I wasn't able to plug my Xbox into my home theater, but as far as I know, the result can't be compared to any other games avaliable. One thing I liked about the soundtrack is that the classical soundtrack from the first one has been changed and now there's a lot of rock'n'roll tunes - I like both classical and rock music, but guitars fit the world of Halo way more than pianos and violins, and you've got to agree. Voice acting is also top notch.
Now there are new enemies in the game. The variety of enemies still isn't the best thing ever, but it never gets repetitive. New weapons (I love the energy sword, it's the most powerful weapon), new vehicles... Halo 2 has improved the first one in every way possible. I loved the controls in the first one, and this time they're even better. AI is great... Enemies and allies are really smart - not smarter than me, though (hahaha) - in 99% of the gameplay. I have witnessed some parts of the game where the AI kind of failed - allies stopped shooting due to nothing while in a vehicle, allies refused to get into the Warthlog for no reason... Other interesting thing in this game is that you play with two characters: Master Chief and an alien, so it's two different views of the story.
Let's talk about the Xbox Live gameplay... Holy Spartans! I don't have much experience in online gameplay (it was the second time I've played anything online), but I must warn you: it's highly addictive. If you're tired about the single player game, ok, it's possible, but you can't get tired of this. It's different every time you play. There are many game modes, scenarios and there's still more to come - Bungie is always planning some new download contents. And Halo 2 includes a special code so you can play the game online with absolutely no charge for two full months. C'mon, play Halo 2 free, online for two months, you can't miss it. All you need is a high-speed internet connection and a credit card, nothing else. If you want to continue playing, no problem: pay a US$50 tax to play for another year or buy a Xbox Live Starter Kit so you get new games to play online and you don't pay anything else for a year. If you want to cancel, you can also do so and you won't be charged. Such things like playing Halo 2 online can't be written, you must play it, simple as that.
Overall, we're talking about the best game of 2004. I'm not a big fan of first person shooters, but this one absolutely rocks. Since it has no bosses and no puzzles - two things I don't like in games -, it's extra fun. If you think a game with no bosses and no puzzles is basically a very easy game, try to beat it on Legendary mode, dear gamer... Buy it right now! If you don't own an Xbox, it's worthy to buy one only to play this single game, which is, by the way... The best game ever.

This is one of the best XBOX games of all time. Yeah it has its little problems, like changing the pistol and changing the multiplayer maps. But you have to look on the good side like having 14 levels and being able to double wield most weapons. If you look past the little defaults it is a great game.

Wow I love Halo 2!!!

I just wanted to respond to all of the negative shipping reviews I've seen here. I went through the same trouble getting GTA: San Andreas, so I was expecting the same thing with Halo 2. But much to my surprise, I recieved my copy on the 9th (release day). I only placed my order on the 20th of last month, too, so it's not that I ordered mine WAAY back. I guess Amazon just has shipping problems sometimes.

Halo1 was a better game

Of course, the multiplayer is phenomenal with this game if you are lucky enough to have the online service hooked up. Otherwise, I felt that this game was not stacking up to the fist. The graphics got a major overhaul and look better than Halo1, but Halo2 lacks all of the huge and epic major battles that we saw in Halo1. This game would have done fine if it was just another shooter, but it surely does not offer something comparable to the original. You play as a covenant and can wield the cool sword. The game is fun, but the dissapointment of not meeting the expectations for me from the first game left me no choice than to view this game as just another shooter. Ive played the first game with a friend cooperatively on each difficutly setting all the way through and every time I am blown away by how action packed, exciting, and hair raisingly edge of your seat challenging the very end of the game was when you have to make your final escape. Halo2 had a very easy, cliche, and unmotivated boss battle with an ape with a hammer. I guess everything is explained in the special edition DVD in which the developers explain that they either had to cut tons of content for time or money purposes. This game maybe was a little rushed. It gets -2 stars for being like just any other shooter out there and another -1 for leaving me wantng to play the original more.

Medicore at best...

This game is not even close to "the greatest game" in the world. I feel royally screwed after reading all the great reviews in magazines and then actually playing the game. What I hate outnumbers what I like.

First off, Single player mode isnt even worth your time, its as repetitive as Halo 1, and the Objective list is pointless... To complete an objective all you need to do is go from point A to point B. There is no back tracking, or planting a bomb. The storyline is Dull and playing as the enemy was pointless.

Multiplayer mode is about the best there is in this game. However its very flawed, Only a couple fun maps the rest poorly designed. The lack of bots is really disappointing, because Xbox live just isnt all that fun, to many little whining kids.

Weapon balance is HORRIBLE in this game. The sword is completely overpowered. The pistol is worthless, absolutely all of the alien weapons are completely worthless. In multiplayer mode you will normally only use duel SMGs, Sniper, Shotgun, or sword. Everything else is completely worthless.

This game is graphically amazing, but I sadly it lacks character design. Metroid Prime 2 and MGS3 blow Halo 2 graphics out of the water.
