The goal of this game is to escape from hell, according to the description. However, if you trust in Jesus, you'll never have to worry about going there in the first place. Therefore, this game is unnecessary to anyone who has accepted Him as their savior.

First off, let me say... this game was nowhere near as good as it was hyped up to be. The first couple of games in the series were incredible, massive amount of enemies, dead bodies lying on the floor, sweet weapons, what more could you ask for? Maybe a decent game on a next gen system.
A decent game is far from what you get, the graphics are good yes, but they aren't any different from what CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK: ESCAPE FROM BUTCHER BAY had. All the character's except two (the main character and Kelly) looked the same but with different haircuts. The enemies were nowhere near breath taking, and they repeat far too often. The sound quality of this game is good, but the sounds the weapons make... completely disappointing, the plasma rifle lost its oomph, the shotgun sounds dinky and the BFG...now I wont even get started on that. The thrills used in the game were also very cheaply done, it got to the point where I saw a dark corner, and 9/10 times, there would be an IMP or a dead marine inside the black depths of the shadows. The biggest thing that irked me was how short the game was, I finished it in about a day, I was expecting a long immerse game, and what I got was a dull, annoying bucket of crap. The people at ID could have done better, overall the game isn't worth the $50 dollar price tag, or the close to $60 mark for the collectors' edition. Rent the game before you buy it, you never know you might like it, but I would not risk throwing 50-60 bucks down the drain.

I just played for almost an hour and was dissapointed. There's just too much ocultism there. Pentagrams everywhere since the start, even the "loading" icon was a pentagram. I just can't enjoy it being a Jesus follower. I threw away $45.
Don't waste your hard earned money on this title

I really don't know where to start but here goes:
1. The storyline starts out trying to imitate the Resident Evil plot, only instead of the company being Umbrella Corp, the company is some United Aerospace Corp. or UAC for short. Why not come up with an original plot?
2. I wanted to go to the graphics from here... but I feel the need to warn you right now that the load times are IMMENSE, from what I have seen in other xbox games, these are typical, but are simply unacceptable in this age of technology. I lost interest after the second load time, and took the game back to the rental place.
3. Graphics, graphics, graphics... yes these graphics suck, they have PS2 written all over them. Goofy characters, WoW! am I dissapointed.
4. Sound -- the sounds don't inspire me or give me that "spine chilling" feeling. They are not erie, or horror filled. They really cheesed that part of the game.
5. Controlls -- what can I say, they suck.
Look, if your into this genre, please don't waste your money on Doom 3, get Resident Evil 4... RE4 is the best game ever made on any system, and beats this game 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 to 1.
What ever you do DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, rent it and you will see what I mean, you can return it and you will save your hard earned money.

Worst FPS this year.
I play alot of FPS and this is the worst I have played this year. You spend way to much time walking and too little time killing stuff. The weapons are weak and you have very little amo. The game bored the hell out of me. Buy Halo 1,2 or Counter Strike but foregt this game. I can not even finish it I am so bored with it.
Graphics so what

I can't believe all the high reviews for this game. Most of them are centered around graphics. If you want sweet computer generated graphics watch the Final Fantasy movie. Most of this game is so dark you can't even enjoy the graphics because you have to have your flashlight out to see them. And if your flashlight is out, guess what isn't... That's right a weapon. So you can see what the hell is going on and beat people down with a maglight. If that is your idea of a good time, go for it. I prefer using a weapon and being able to see the bad guys. The monsters are so retarded you can sidestep every attack and take them down with your pistol. Your marine jumps like a poonanie, if you fall off a box you take damage. The weapons are identical to the original, chainsaw, BFG 9000. I was really dissapointed in this game. There has been a decade in advancements since this series was first created and if all they can do is come up with some better graphics than that sucks. Me and my buddies were back on Halo 2 the same night we all started playing Doom 3. What a waste.
dosen't live up to the hype

doom 3 has awesome graphics, but it lacks in everything else.
the storyline was thin,
the gameplay was just average FPS stuff,
the A.I. was terrible, you could outsmart the demons every time(mabey endless hours of Halo and Halo 2 just made me smarter),
the mutiplayer seemed limited
and the music wasn't anything special, either. I may seem a little judgemental but once you've played the Halo series, you have a natural instinct to compare every game to it. take my opinion, buy halo and halo 2 first. both those games have better music, multiplayer, storyline, A.I. and gameplay. although Doom 3 may have better graphics, all you ever see is demons and blood. halo and halo 2 however, take you to tropical islands to snow-capped moutains to metropolis citys, and every where between.
just my two cents
Burn your Xbox

Doom 3's graphics engine is amazing. It looks very good.
Xbox cannot handle the origonal engine very well.
Doom 3 on Xbox looks terrible, and the gameplay is pointless. The only draw for the computer version is the fact that it looks awesome. I does not on Xbox.

Doom is supposed to be a fun game. Instead, you are weak, carry weak guns, and you don't even talk. in the game, you fight zombies over and over again it gets boring after 5 minutes or so.Also, you get lost easily because it's so damned dark and monsters leap out behind walls. also, you can't use your flashlight while you shoot. you have to shoot randomly. there is also to much gore in this game it is counted as one of the most violent game.doom came out a few months ago and it is 20 dollars on the pc.don't think because there are guns and monsters in this games it is a good game.here is my overall score.
graphics 7/10
sound 5/10
gameplay 4/10
controls 8/10
storyline 4/10
fun factor 2/10
overall 4/10
now, don't get offended because i say it is not good and you like it. i am only saying what i think about the game. I'd reccomend other games like halo, zelda, mech assault, metroid, and resident evil.
