Quake is much better!

Long loading times lead to too much wasted time that could be spent playing the game. This is the same old thing, run around shooting monsters with nothing new or special added. The first Quake created a far superior atmosphere than this game. I took the game back to Blockbuster within a couple of days because I just didn't look forward to playing it.

Is it really released? What is going on......

Is this game really released? I dont know if I can believe this. The release of this game is not even acknowledged by www.xbox.com, so what is going on? Amazon is the only retail store that has this game, for instance..www.bestbuy.com says it is still on "preorder status, it comes out Jan. 5, 05." someone explain this to me please.

Is this the same Doom 3 as the PC? developed by Id Software and distributed by Activision? And howcome there is no boxshot? There are plenty on the internet.

Anyhow, i played the PC version of Doom 3. It was excellent. The environment just gives you a clausterphobic feeling, a feeling that something bad is going to happen. I jumped back in fear many times, as their are enemies that pop out of nowhere. The weapons are excellent, especially the shotgun. At close range, it kills a weak enemy with one hit! The pistol and assault rifle are also very effective, and there are many other weapons also. The enemies are fairly smart, but not the best. They dont know how to dodge bullets, but they will fight back. The sound is amazing, giving you the feeling that you are actually there. As many other people have stated, play this game with the volume pumped up and in the dark to give you the ultimate spooky gameplay experience.

As Computer Gaming World stated, this game is truly "A masterpiece of the Artform"

this game is hot. scary as hell too. don't hate just because it isn't halo 2.

What happened to John anyway...He's the father of 3-D gaming, polygonal rendering, I believe he has to be proud of his accomplishment. He's one of the few gods in technology.

Worst FPS this year.

I play alot of FPS and this is the worst I have played this year. You spend way to much time walking and too little time killing stuff. The weapons are weak and you have very little amo. The game bored the hell out of me. Buy Halo 1,2 or Counter Strike but foregt this game. I can not even finish it I am so bored with it.

You don't need to buy this game!

The goal of this game is to escape from hell, according to the description. However, if you trust in Jesus, you'll never have to worry about going there in the first place. Therefore, this game is unnecessary to anyone who has accepted Him as their savior.

If you give this game a bad review you must be an idiot. The game delievers on all fronts as far as horror is concerned. So what if you have a flash light. If you haven't noticed they make it very easy for you to switch between flashlight and weapon just by hitting the white botton on your contoller so stop complaining. Some have suggested that it would be better if you could tie the flash light to the end of your gun. What sence does that make when you constantly switching back and forth between Guns? Think for a secound.Maybe it would make more sence to have a flashlight built into your helmit but then again it be kind of strange for the developers to have you walking around the wole game with a construction hat on just to help the players see in the dark. The darkness is there for a reason. It's suppose to add to the thrill of the game. As far as night vision goggles go this is not "Splinter Cell".

The only thing i find about th game to be a little off is the monsters comming out of the walls. I don't mean them braking through the walls i mean a door sliding up and there right behind it in like a little toilet stall. Makes it look as though they were waiting in that tight little space the whole time untill you show up. Not very monster like if you ask me. Sounds more like something Haunted Houses do at Halloween.

I say buy the game. The variety Guns and Monsters as well as the Graphics in the game are really good.This isn't a party game. More like a haunted house game that you can play with a friend on co-op. If you want a party game buy a gamecube and get Halo 2.

Definately better than Halo as far as campaign is concerned. It's just not what I would call fun. It's hard to get into the game it being so dark and moody. Otherwise, it's good.

doom 3 has awesome graphics, but it lacks in everything else.
the storyline was thin,
the gameplay was just average FPS stuff,
the A.I. was terrible, you could outsmart the demons every time(mabey endless hours of Halo and Halo 2 just made me smarter),
the mutiplayer seemed limited
and the music wasn't anything special, either. I may seem a little judgemental but once you've played the Halo series, you have a natural instinct to compare every game to it. take my opinion, buy halo and halo 2 first. both those games have better music, multiplayer, storyline, A.I. and gameplay. although Doom 3 may have better graphics, all you ever see is demons and blood. halo and halo 2 however, take you to tropical islands to snow-capped moutains to metropolis citys, and every where between.

just my two cents
