could have been great, but ain't

Sadly they forgot the game is about volleyball, the game play is slow and unrealistic with the gilrs animation being jerky and silly stuff like them streching a leg because they have been idle and then just jumping straight up out of it to perform a spike!! The camera moves poorly and the game play is very shallow, Graphics are awesome but the lack of animation lets it down badly. Its a shame they wasted time on a stupid casino that plays worse than all free online casinos and even simple card games on the pc, and buying clothes and outfits to get new partners makes for very sad gameplay!!! Two players only!! big mistake, and you don't have full control of your partner. I've played Beachspikers and it plays a way better game allowing 4 players to go at it and flawless control, although it has a very limited one player game, however it is an absoulte master of volleyball physics and game play that is fun for everyone, Though its currently only avalible for Gamecube. I'd advise rent DOA Xtreme and checking it out for yourself as you will bore with it within a night.

Granted, this game does have some attrractice girls in it. I'm sure that alone will sway some guys into buying this game but please take my advice and don't. I thought this game was going to be great and after I had played it for about five minutes I realized it [was bad]. The camera is absolutely horrible. You get only an angled view and it is annoying to try and get your girl into place on the court. Most importantly, the game play [is poor]. You serve it and then have a short rally until someone spikes it and wins the point. There is not a whole lot of strategy as you just keep spiking it until the other person can't return it. It will get very old very fast. Do not waste your money. Unless of course the girls are what you are buying it for, not the actual gameplay.

The game looks great. The graphics move smoothly and are nicely detailed. You can zoom in/out on the girl, but only for a short period of time.

The game's soundtrack is annoying, and all character voices are in Japanese (except Zach's). Luckily, you can use your custom soundtrack from your Xbox.

The game isn't fun, plain and simple. It's extreme shallow--A button to hit, B button to set up. That's it. The game is quite weird too. You automatically jump to spike the ball most of the time. There is little thinking involved to win--the game's too easy. The game automatically makes you jump and hit the ball during the match! How good can this game be???

This game is just NOT worth 50 bucks. $20 max. This game doesn't play well, has lousy soundtracks, and a very basic (and unfinished) casino. Don't buy this game--I made the mistake of doing so.

Great Game for Girls.

This is a great game for some of our female players who don't like violence. It's great because it is very unique and has beutiful grapics. I love the characters of this game. I enjoy playing games and hope to play more in the future. It is appealing to both genders. These women are the most attractive women in fighting games. If you like these characters check out Dead or Alive 3 and Dead or Alive Ultimate.

Don't listen to the reviewer who says there's nudity........

The code that EGM listed in its magazine is intended as an April Fool's joke. I guess this guy was too stupid to fall for it. However, the game is still a lot of fun without the nudity, and I highly recommend it.

This game is awesome
I would recomend it to anyone who likes the DOA ladies
there are very very very special surprises in the game that you have to see for yourself.

I've read several reviews that criticize this game because they think people like this game only because of the CG of the girls. Many, who criticize this game, have never laid their hand on this game. They simply made the conclusion based on the preview video Tecmo released. I am a hardcore DOA fan, but I have to say many months ago when I first heard this game and saw the video, I, too, was wondering whether Tecmo is trying to sale this game only by the CG, not the game play. So when it finally came out, I rent one without knowing whether I'll like it or not.

During the game play, the quality of CG did not surprise me at all since I've seen the preview video of this game. However, what did surprise me is that this game is not all about the CG of the girls, the game play is very challenging as well.

I've read the people that who played the game and still criticize the game play. I don't think those people understand what's called "mastering" a game. The concept behind DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball is very similar to the DOA serie games. Games like DOA3, anybody can win a game by randomly pressing the buttons at very high speed. However, to truely master DOA3, you'll need to know the moves and combos, know when and what to press. DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball is very similar in this manner. It is easy to win some game in DOA XBV by randomly pressing the buttons. However, there are a lot to learn to truely master the game. And if you are one of those people that truely understand the art of mastering a game, you won't be disappointed by this game. Of course, on top of the game play, the CG is great as well ;-)

People criticize this game after they played for only several minutes do not understand how challenging a game could be even when it looks simple on the surface. DOA XBV is in fact a very challenging game if you want to truly master it.

DOA XBV is a great game. If you are a gamer that try to master every game you play, then you will love this game. But if you're just somebody that try to waste some time, and never planning to get into any game, then I can't guarantee you anything about this game. You might hate this game like many other reviews did. Who knows...

Simply an entertaining game

This game offers so much more than volleyball, so don't let the title deceive you. Each chic is pretty unique. The girls appearances and moves are modeled after four real chics from San Diego. There are codes that do some pretty craaaazy things, too.

Overall it's just a really entertaining game, living the life of a girl, walking around, playing blackjack, volleyball or whatever you want to do. There is so much to this game.

If you are a volleyball fan or are looking for a game based on the sport itself, look elsewhere. This game is about fun, but most of it is not related to volleyball.

The basis of the game is to make lots of friends and collect all kinds of gifts that they give you. There are bathing suits, sunglasses, hats, guns, and whacky other accesories to choose from. If you love the DOA girls, you'll love being able to switch the camera views while they pose wearing whatever bathing suit you want.

The game was rated an M for nudity by the ESRB, but there really isn't any full nudity. (Partial nudity everywhere though)

This game has been called all sorts of things, and criticized in many different ways, as well as complimented in many different ways.

I always knew, from the get go, I would love this game! From the minute I heard about it! And that feeling held true after I had received it. I truly enjoyed this game!

The volleyball action is surprisingly easy and fun to play. It is very quick pick up and play fun. I know this game has been rated mature, but I have been playing this with my son since he was around 2. It really is fun.

Speaking of my son, his favorite minigame has to be the hopping game. Now, the trick is to skip across the pool, but for him, its a much more fun to fall into the water. He can do that again and again, and never grow tired of it. He never wins, but in the end, isn't it all about fun!

I, on the other hand, love the gift exchange and "girlfriend" sim fun. I also enjoy the gambling. My son likes the part on the roulette game, when the asian figure falls down on the table on the chosen winning space, and calls out !!!!YAH!!!! He loves to play that over and over again too!

I would recommend this game for any male gamer who enjoys female companionship, and videogames. Must also like playing dress up (with the character.)
