Nick;evidently you and many others have not fully explored the game as i have; logged over 227 Man hours in to this game and not for eye candy or being a crazed maniac,But to prove a point and the volleyball game part is not as easy as some would have you believe!!capiche!!Next THERE is Nudity in this game but some of you young naive folks ,just haven't seen it or did enough exploring .i don't mean in the games cutscenes either,Read the box Nudity,not there for print.1 Gamer Mag 2 yrs.ago went into detail how too see the babes Topless..then i found other ways own my own..i am not a pervert,Busted a few in my job(Law Enforcement)But this game is wonderfully made (add your own music)Please;just to shut up Rodman..This Game will go down as 1 of the most played X-box games ever ,and sold. Now all you Adults ,Hurry up and by it now..Great fun..

If your buying this game for the actual volleyball, DONT.. It's real bad. I have been playing beach volleyball for 10 year (Miami Beach). It dose not come close at all to the real thing. It only has the concept of the game. I can put it this simple; it's so bad that it does not have and out of bound line. There is no tourney just pick up games.. It's that simple. Way to easy, 2 buttons control the whole game all u can do is spike and dink o and handset. No cuts shot or deep shots. The girls only talk in Chinese with translation line in the bottom. I could not find a way to make them speak English. Well enough trashing. Lets look at one and I mean one good thing, the graphics are awesome. So if want to get a cheap thrill of a cartoon then get it. But its way cheaper to surf the Internet and get better pictures for free.

Ok, the graphics are really great, the girls are very nice looking, but the gameplay is horrible.

The whole idea of only using 2 buttons on your controller to play the entire game is just plain weak. There is no game play here...

So, I took mine back.

I agree with most others than the game is pretty much about stunning visuals and scantily-clothed beautiful girls jumping up and down yelling in Japanese. There is very little depth to it, and most men will get tired of it after a few hours.

But the funny part is that my GF likes this game much more than I do! Although she likes the simplified volleyball simulation just fine, the main attraction to her is the ability to pick and choose the complete set of wardrobe for the girls. Now this has turned into a Japanese barby doll simulation.

I don't know how long her interest will last on this game, but at least it accomplished its mission.....it sold a copy of game to me! (I didn't want to buy it but my GF insisted.)

I played this game at a friend's house, and I could not believe the graphics of this game. I couldn't believe the graphics of the Xbox on some of his other games. DOA Volleyball was a game that I thought was going to be really boring, but once you play it your hooked. If you are determined to win then you will keep playing this one. Oh, characters in it are interesting as well.

Dead or Alive Volleyball, is a pretty weak game. It does has beautiful graphics; the women wearing bikinis and sun bathing or playing volleyball. ... The backdrops are beautiful as well, with nice beaches and island spots. I also had a bit of fun with the casino mini games included. When you gamble and win at the casino games, you earn money to buy gifts for your girl/characters- buy them a new swimsuit, candy, flowers. It tries to simulate interaction with a virtual girl, but it is very limited. The volleyball game (which is the whole purpose of the game) lacks responsive controls, and has very bad camera angles. The bad camera angles ruin the whole game because when you are playing volleyball, either your character or ball will leave the play screen and then you end up losing points! Terrible. The music and sound effects are generic but they can be turned down.

+casino games

Cons:
-junk controls
-camera angles sucks
-you cannot adjust camera angles
-generic music
-weak sound effects
-not very exciting

Overall this game is below average, it tried to implement lots of good ideas, and the casino games was a nice bonus, but the negative points affect it badly.

Dead Or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball Is Already Awesome

This is one of those few games that just can't help but be awesome. Conceptually you just don't get any better than this, but added on top is that it looks so good too.
One dead give away is the fact that the makers (Tecmo) are taking the time to polish this game to perfection. Also the basic features, 4 players, custom soundtrack, those little details are going to help make this one of the best games of 2003.
Really, who cares about pansy Zelda boy, when you can get some serious beach action with the girls from DOA?!

If you are looking for an "Adult" game - this is not it. This is no BMX XXX. There is no nudity ! There is no strip volleyball. There are just a bunch of chics in bikinis playing volleyball. I like that. But this is not worth the "M" rating. GTA: Vice City, a game where you can pay for sex and murder people indiscriminately and one of your ultimate goals is to buy the local stip club, is worth the "M" rating. BMX XXX where there is bona fide nudity and REAL hidden codes that offer more is worth the "M" rating. This game is a light, fluffy, feel good game that you and your girl friend will enjoy playing together. Girls like to shop and much of this game revolves around shoping and gamboling. Once my girl friend got over the discomfort of my watching cartoon babes in skimpy outfits she took over shopping for them and gamboling. The only reason I was still around was to play the volleyball part.

Anyway, do not be DECIEVED. This game should be rated "E" for everyone !!!

This game is only marginally entertaining for about 2 hours. The volleyball "gameplay" is only two buttons. The casino is incredibly boring. The graphics are nice, but so what? How long can you look at cartoons in bikinis? The HUGEST, most GLARING failure of this game is that there are NO character endings, i.e., there is no goal to achieve in this game. You don't even have any real incentive to play volleyball at all, except to break up the monotony a little bit. I can't believe this game was actually made and marketed. Mine's going back to Best Buy immediately.
