How dose this game have the good reviews? The games Singleplayer sucks, but thats because its meant to be a mulitplayer game. Well multiplayer sucks also. I play alot of Xbox live games and if your thinking about buything this game, don't. Get Rainbow Six instead or something. Because the gameplay makes this not fun. Also the graphics are very medicore. Don't waste your money on this game.

The graphics are excellent, the game play is as well. They really need to make aiming easier. I'm very good at the PC version, but it is very difficult to aim with a little (joy) stick compared to a computer mouse.

The new weapons are very realistic, the new maps are excellent as well. I prefer the buy menus on the X-Box version better than the PC. The AI is absoutely unbelievable. Half-Life 2 is going to have a tough act to follow next spring (or whenever it comes out). Honestly, when I first played at a friend's house, I didn't know for nearly an hour (at which time he told me) that I was playing against Bots rather than real people on X-Box live!

Thanks for the fun Valve, fix the aiming!

Get Halo instead

I bought it because they convieniently put the best looking screen shots on the back of the box and the PC one was so much fun. When i opened it i played the off line version first so that i could get used to the controls, and i was pissed off to find that the graphics are a complete joke. It looks like something off the PS1. The bots walk and run like hunched over retards and use combat skills much to the same level, they are useless. When i tried it on Xbox live it was not much different, with only 2 game scenarios, very few maps, too small maps and complete jackass' booting me from the game because i was using cheap weopan combos.(i had just played so i didn't know what was good, and since when have 2 pistols been better that an M4 assault rifle). They say that the game should only be bought by people who own Xbox live, but even they will be dissapointed. If you want a good, longlasting game that is always fun then get either Rainbow 6 or Halo 2, they both rock online, have good graphics and lots of people are always playing.

Sorry X-Box-ers, CS Has failed on this console

I have played CS for 6 years and when I tried to played CS on xbox I just about gagged and fell over, I cannot stand the controls. I do have to give kudos for trying but I didn't like it at all.

At heart CS is a mouse and keyboard game, and with the min specs for cs being 250MHz and 64MB ram for lan games (HL 1.1.0.0, CS 1.5) there isn't much of a excuse for playing it on a console than a PC (unless you havent gotten a new computer since 1996)

Price comparason:
PC: $10 (Half-Life can be found in the bargin bin then download CS from somewhere that has CS 1.5 or 1.6; or buy CS retail {not CS:CZ} for the same price at Wal-Mart/Fred Meyers)
X-Box: $20-35

Choice is clear: PC wins

No storyline...no fun!

This game is a huge dissapointment! If you want a game with a great storyline, vivid characters, stimulating environments...DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. There is no point to this game but to shoot at enemies you can barely see. I think the idea of having to buy your weapondry is bogus, and the maps are very limited in structure.

Maybe if I had XBOX LIVE I would have had more fun with it, but the fact that they give you only two options in game play, to plant a bomb or to rescue hostages, is sooo boring, I played it 3 times, and sold it to a friend.

The graphics are ok, but nothing to rave about. Don't even bother renting this game, it's just really lame.

Ok, just to let you know this game has no storyline, you can't beat it, you can't even beat a level. You can play a level but not beat it, you can beat a round but that is it. So it is pretty much useless unless you have xbox live. Now there are two game modes: demolition and hostage rescue. You can either be a terrorist or a counter-terrorist. A terrorist in hostage rescue makes sure the counter terrorists don't rescue the hostages and the counter terrorists rescue them. A terrorist in demolition plants the bomb at either a or b bomb site and the counter terrorist defuses the bomb!

Pros:
1.second funnest game on xbox live (Rainbow 6:3 is #1!)& super addicting
2.good graphics
3.good weapons
4.realistic
5.buy weapons adds fun
Cons:
1.no multiplayer
2.no storyline!

this is a great update to the pc classic and its on the xbox. its not all that bad. its fun and incredibly addictive. too bad there is not a lot of blood. but let me tell you this game is very challenging and hard so there is a lot of strategy to use in this game. If you like first person shooters, buy this, and that goes the same for strategy fans.

DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU INTEND TO PLAY IT SINGLE-PLAYER!
THE SINGLE PLAYER COMPONENT IS NOT WORTH PLAYING AT ALL!

That said, Counter-Strike makes the most popular online shooter in the world finally available to we console-players. It is fun to play, runs smooth, and looks (compared to the PC version, anyway) pretty crisp. Personally, the feature I use the most is the Custom Soundtrack ability. What could be more enjoyable than listening to "Cop Killer", "Bodies", or The Dogg Pound's "What Would U Do M.F.?" as you pounce off on a kill-crazy terrorist rampage with a bunch of aquantainces? This is also a good deal via system link, but if you are muy pobre, that doesn't work either.

That's all, oh yeah, get stoned and spend your tax return at the strip bar!

An absolute must have.

for those of us who have already played counter-strike know just how awesome it is, and if the xbox version can deliver just half as much fun it'd still get a 5 star. i have played cs on the HL mod before the actual cs game even came out, approx. 5 yrs, and i have never gotten bored of it. this game will blow halo/halo2 out of the water.
