Counter-strike is no doubt the most popular fps game in the world, and 2nd most popular GAME in the world (right now, lineage takes #1 mostly of Eastern countries) HOWEVER i must add a few things

+ IF you can not stand losing, and is easily frustruated, this is not the game for you. ( I have known so many players that jsut give up because they can't admit that they lost, also a big reason why many hackers are rumored in the PC version, because beginners can't take the beating so they think they are cheating)

+IF you are experienced in the PC Version, do not get the xbox version, get it if you are an xbox person or has never played the game. this game was my first online FPS and my favorite for 3 years

+If you love to Chat, and have fun, but also at times, a very serious gamer, this is a game for you. (This game can be very funny at times, mostly due to the people you are playing with)

+If you want a challenging game, which takes lots of communications, skill and teamwork, this is also a game for you!(You learn after a while that this game needs very good aim, good listener for footsteps, and some strategy, most maps i realized are very strategic)

+lastly, do not expect the single player to be so scripted. the original game is multiplayer ONLY, and thats how so many people came to like it. cause its all online.

CounterStrike Worth the Buy? Sure, but only....

Counterstrike has to be one of the most famous online first person shooters, if not, the most famous online game. Most computer junkies have played it and become addicted the moment they get thier first "frag." With all that said, Valve, the developer of Counterstrike, has just been released for the XBox with all the same aspects and you can play online using XBox LIVE. But does it live up to it's PC version?

The graphics virtually have no improvement from the PC version. Which is a bad thing because the graphics are not impressive at all, but to the contrary, the level designs are. Some are vast, some are small, but all of them are very well designed. Each level you play matches in has many areas to hide and get cover from enemy fire.

The sounds of gunfire, explosions, footsteps, and the voices are all very well done. Counterstrike also supports the custom soundtrack, which is very cool. Imagine fragging all your friends online while jamming to your favorite rock or rap group. If you have the music CD, you can listen to it while playing Counterstrike.

The gameplay is where Counterstrike shines. It's pure pulse pounding action playing it online. When I first played it using XBox LIVE, the bullets were flying, the bodies were piling up, the people were yelling, and I was in heaven.

The only problem I have with Counterstrike is that there is no multiplayer. For the love of God, why is there no split-screen multiplayer mode? Did Valve feel like making us video game junkies angry? Or is Valve trying to make us subscribe to XBox LIVE to have some multiplayer fun? Whatever the case, this game doesn't feel complete without split-screen multiplayer mode.

So if you dont have XBox LIVE and don't plan on subscribing anytime soon, don't bother with Counterstrike. Counterstrike for XBox lives up to the PC version, and it's arguably better than the PC version. So if you have XBox LIVE and you wan't some ballistic action, then I suggest you run to your nearest game retailer and buy Counterstrike.

Counter Strike trully is an amazing title, as old as it is, it still holds it's own. The game that kinda started the entire squad based shooter genre, and made LAN, and WAN play a new trend.

Though technically, not as deep as many of the newer FPS, CS is like the Pac-Man of first person shooters, or of even the last 7 years or so. This version like the PC version of Counter Strike is for network play, and is made for XBOX Live! But included in this version is a 'single player' mode, and a 'training' mode. The single player mode is just as fun as playing on XBOX Live, with bots instead of human counter-parts. Somehow this game really shines in a LAN environment, most people have played this in a cyber-cafe running a LAN, before broadband really took off, this was the way to play.

For those that have never played CS, you are either a Terrorist, or a CT/Counter Terrorist. There are two different objectives available, depending on the map, for the Terrorists. Some maps require the Terrorists to blow up/demolish a site, or take hostages. While the CT team as to either rescue the hostages, or eliminate the entire Terroist force, and or diffuse the bomb if planted. You get a full spectrum of assault rifles, sub-machine guns, fragment grenades, smoke bombs, flash bang grenades, body armor, and heavy artillery like shotguns, and chain fed machine guns, sniper rifles, secondary weapons, like hand guns. The guns are based on real present day weapons, the Terrorists and Counter Terrorists have some different weapon selections. But you can always drop your weapon and pick up somebody else's if you so choose.

There are several maps to choose from, and many more available through XBOX Live.

Counter Strike is a must buy, the replay value is extremely high, the graphics are clean, and the control is perfect on the XBOX controller!

Synopsis: the only reason you should buy this game is if you're an existing CS fanatic.

I've never understood the PC craze about this game. Played it once and found the graphics, play control, and overal feel of the game circa 5 years ago. But hey, to each his own. If you like the PC version CS for xBox is really just more of the same recycled shootmeup.

Yet the most disturbing thing about this game is the question of how you sell a multiplayer game w/out support for the other 3 controller ports on the xBox? System link? Why should I buy another xBox and TV when I've got ports for three other controllers on the one I already bought? Is this the future of multiplayer on xBox (M$ pushing their subscription service by releasing only games that allow subscription-based multiplayer)?

CS fans with monthly money to burn, dive right in. Else, keep your distance from the drab graphics, drab sound, lack of multiplayer, weak single-player mode, and recycled nature of this game.

In short, unless you have Live this game is utterly useless.

this has to be one of the best multi-player games ever. it has great choice guns and grenades and does not fail to impress.

As I headed downstairs I noticed that the hostages were gone... Then on top of that I had no teamates left. So it was me my 50 cal sniper and a 9mm pistol that i had 1 clip for.I rushed upstairs to my favorite sniping place and waited. About 1 mintue later out came a counter terrorist followed by 5 hostages. I took aim and fired...MISS!!! He was gettin close to the rescue zone and I had time for 1 last shot. As I took aim to shoot again he made one fatal error. He stoped running and turned around to try and see what was shooting. A second later there was a sound of thunder as my magnum ripped right through his skull winning us the match.

Well, thats the story of a game I played yesterday on my favorite map, Miltia. I havent played the PC version of CS but I can say I LOVE the Xbox version. The graphics could be better, but the gameplay makes up for the graphics. All the guns are real based. Its also a realistic game. If your a Ghost Recon fan, think of CS as Ghost Recon, except its faster paced and its a fsp. Ghost Recon 2 isnt fps, but the 1st to are and all you can see is a targeting reticule. The only con of this game is the graphics. But gameplay makes up for the graphics by a longshot. You can pick what weapon to hold your gun in, and the game even supports custom soundtracks. I just bought this game about 20 minutes ago. I played it for 5 minutes and wanted to throw it away. The graphics are weak, game play is choppy and it is an all around boring game. I really wished I rented it first. I am going to trade this one away a.s.a.p.

Okay when I first saw the ad for this game I thought it looked very, very stupid. ( I'm a HUGE HALO fan). But when I played it, it was one of the best games I've ever played. If you're ever told it's not good... it's a lie. It is the best x-box live game ever! So if you're looking for a good game i recommend this one.

i'll agree with the little to no lag, but that's b/c the environments are so bland (and the graphics look like they've been bleached).

the whole part about CS being updated for the Xbox is a load. maybe a few little tweaks were added, but nothing impressive. the indoor environments look better than the outdoor scenes and the character models are sweet, but this is an ugly Xbox game otherwise. i'll take gameplay over looks, but when you can't see if someone at a distance is a friend or foe b/c the graphics are so muddy = the game is not so much fun.

it's okay, but Rainbow Six 3 kicks CS's behind on the Xbox. sorry. only buy this game if you're a huge FPS fan and you absolutely must have every XBL game. rent it if you just want to take a look. i wish i had.

(and i guarantee that the guy who gave the graphics a 9/10 never played this game.)

This game isn't better than the comp version but it has awsome graphics, if you have never played cs before then I would buy it because cs is the worlds most popular first person shooter. When I first got it I couldn't stop playing it. It is fun and I hope they come out with amx mods for it.
