I am a huge Buffy fan from back when the TV Show first started. I own all the box sets that are released and I own the FIRST BTVS game for Xbox. I bought this game yesterday at GameSpot for 49.99 without tax. My husband played it for 5 minutes, we looked at each other and agreed, this game BLOWS. It is NOTHING like the first BTVS game on XBox. The graphics are like a PS2 game, most of the time your characters look like they are floating in thin air! The voice acting of the characters is way off including the cast that is actually in the TV Series. They seem like their hearts are not in it. Plus there is no Alyson to voice Willow. Some girl voice actor they hired is doing our favorite witch...except she is majorly annoying, her voice is NOTHING like season 4-7 Willow, and she really doesn't know how to act at all.

All in all this game is a real huge disappointment. Do yourself a favor, don't run out and blow your money buying it like I did. Rent it and see if you like it...then if you do fork over the dough. I promise you, if you are a fan of the First Xbox Buffy game you will want to kill the people who made Chaos Bleeds for ruining a great game.

I hate that it wasn't good. I hate that it did not meet my expectations...hated it so much I took it back today, traded it in for 20 dollars (way under what I paid) and bought Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic instead.

Don't even waste your money!

If you loved the first Buffy the Vampire Slayer game offered only on the XBox, then stick with that and dont waste your time playing Chaos Bleeds. I always thought the sequel to a game was supposed to surpass it in every aspect? Nonetheless, you do get the chance to play as Xander, Willow, Spike, Faith and Sid the Dummy...but that doesnt make up for the way that the controler handles and the bad angles that this game offers. The way the game was set up before was much more user friendly. If you were getting low on energy (health), all you had to do was pause the game and go to your inventory, drink an elixer and go back to fighting; not in chaos bleeds, in this game while your getting your azz beat by 3 vampires, you are having to scroll through your inventory of weapons to find a medipak and use it quick before you turn to dust yourself. And you can only carry 5 medipaks at a time, you could carry 9 elixers in the previous buffy game. Also the control handling is so slugish, you start trying to hit a vamp, one show up behind you, dont waste your time trying to turn around to hit him, youll end up going in a different direction swinging at nothing but air and the vamps are now behind, still kicking the crap out of you. If you enter an area and there are 3 vamps there to fight, you wont know it by their energy bar showing up at the top of the screen like the previous buffy game, you get to find out there in the area when they appear out of nowhere and jack slap you a good one. Faith and Buffy fight the exact same way. Spike is somewhat slow but seems to be the strongest, Xander... although his arena is the hardest, i just dont seem him staking 50 vamps and living, and Willow character doesnt have the option to kick, all she can do is slap a vamp away from her and PRAY she is holding a stake or has enough magic to toast them with fireballs, or shes dead meat too. Also in the previous buffy game, as you went through the game, buffy had the chance to boost her slayer power and health giving her the chance to last longer in the game, not in chaos bleeds, what little energy you start off with, thats all you get.... so try not to block those vampire punches with your face.... or you can just hang it up. After playing this game for almost 3 months, i have yet to beat it. It took me almost 3 weeks just to clear Spikes stage. All in all, its a horrible excuse for a game and i wouldnt bother.... youd be better of playing Legend of Zelda on the regular Nintendo.

Buffy...eh...I'l pass

This game has some of the worst controls I've ever experienced. Reaction to hitting a button is delayed within the game, voice acting is pretty damn bad, the graphics are horrible, and the game could have used some more time for refinement. I'm very displeased by this title, it's a total shame. I'm a Buffy fan myself and I feel this game dissapoints completely. Don't buy this game, if your really curious rent it, or just wait 'till it's reduced in price.

Well I was so excited when I heard that Buffy was getting yet another chance to kick some demon butt in the famous Sunnydale lot, and to my surprise FAITH my favorite Slayer of all time was to be in it. So I of course got the game like the first day it was out and I played it and well here are the Pro/Cons to the game and trust me there is more Con's then Pro's right now.

Con's

1. The camera is HORRIBLE. Very jerky and dizzy at times. It doesn't go around 360 like the other one.
2. The controls are tricky. In the first game you could use the whole joy stick, in this one it's very strick in that it's up or down and side to side, no slightly up to the left side, nope you just go straight up. So that is highly annoying because you get cornered very fast (and can't use the camera to use it to swing around fast enough as well).
3. Well I do miss the inventory screen, very much. I mean I learned how to use the quick screen in the first game, but I think it was WRONG to take it out. Trust me once I beat the game I'm writing a LONG, LONG list of problems this had compared to the first one.
5. To many buttons for combo's and highly frustrating. They really don't give you a chance to figure out moves and spells in my opinion. They talk to you while fighting how to do it, and that is annoying.
6. SAVES!! Who ever the freaking genuies was to NOT have hardly any in the game needs to be in my eyes SHOT and never allowed to play again. I was playing Faith and the game got stuck at the end guy so GUESS what I had to start all over again. UGH. Plus the Boss who you face at the end of this takes FAR to long to beat. I mean he should be an end guy it's so stupid. There are engery balls you have to blast, three of them I sat there counting that i hit one of them 50 times and it still wasn't down and this is ONLY ONE. That is way to much time to spend in my opinion.

The list can go on and on and on and on, the only good part is that you get some multi-player action going on and well... um... the other games as well seem very cool. But other wise this isn't any where near the league that it was before and if I could demand my money back I would give it up it back. Even if Faith is in it.

This game bites!

As a Buffy fan, I cannot believe I would ever write this, but don't waste your time or money on this game. It was a major disappointmnet after last year's incredible release from The Collective. I bought an Xbox just for the original game and still play it all the time. Compared to the other games I have played since then, Chaos Bleeds fails in every respect. Eurocom destroyed everything that made the first game so enjoyable. The graphics are pathetic, the fighting is simplistic AND annoying, some of the puzzles are frustrating to the point of nausea, and you're lucky if your controls work at all. Case in point, Willow's spells NEVER work. And the boss battles? I don't remember a single episode of Buffy when she had to run around and beat up magic energy orbs in stead of actually fighting the Big Bad! The first game really felt like an actual episode. Chaos Bleeds is more like a nightmare. Playing as the other characters is enjoyable and probably the only reason to play at all. As for stroy line, read the manual instead and see how it plays out. I hope Vivendi Universal or Fox comes to their senses and hires The Collective next time around.

Camera system almost ruins the fun

First off, I'm a huge Buffy fan who's pretty easygoing about all things Buffy. I also LOVED the first Buffy Xbox game. This one is nice in that you can play Willow (magic! yay!) and others, but what's NOT nice is the camera system.

I've only had it for about six hours, so maybe it'll get better, but I got the camera system figured out for the first game in under an hour. With "Chaos Bleeds," you don't have the range of motion that you had in the first game, you can't look up AT ALL, and when you're in a tight room or hallway, the imaginary camera "hits" the walls and won't let you turn around to see what you're fighting. But it's just as bad when you're in wide open spaces (like the cemetery), because the camera will "hit" a lamppost or tree and refuse to let you rotate the view as well, until you move forward or back a few feet or turn another direction first to "release" it. It's incredibly annoying--more than once today I've started yelling and cursing at the game because I'm trying to play and can't even turn around to see what's attacking me.

To give you some context about my abilities, I'd say on a scale of 1-10 for skill (10 being a hard-core gamer and 1 being my mom), I'm about about a 6.5 to 7.

I would heartily recommend you RENT THIS TITLE FIRST to make sure the camera system doesn't totally ruin the game for you. I have been waiting all summer for this, and now I have to say I'm pretty disappointed with the total experience it provides. The camera system is so wonky that it almost feels like I'm playing with a broken controller. Which I'm not.

I am a HUGE buffy fan and bought the game the day it came out. i was surprised that it was nothing like the first game. very jerky. There were puzzles to solve, but none that were that challenging. This game was definitely released before the bugs were worked out. The camera movement is so frustrating i almost couldn't play the game. Can't see through walls and can't move out or see what you are doing if you get cornered. Very glitchy. freezes & codes for spells don't work. There is also a huge delay between when you press the button and what the character actually does. And just try changing directions during a fight!!
The voice of Willow is horrible, and the sexual inuendo is a bit pathetic. The quality of the graphics is not as good as the previous Buffy game. I wish they would have waited to release this game and hadn't rushed to get it out. I want my money back!!!

Insanly Difficult

Before you purchase this game, BEWARE OF THE CAMERA ANGLES. Unlike the first masterpiece, the camera angles in Chaos Bleeds are poor and quite difficult to use. Often you are in a tight space and a vampire jumps you, it takes you a long time to turn around and TRY and fight the vampire. This game's graphics are nowhere near as good as the first games. Fighting in this game is hard enough. Some of the vampires are so fast they don't give you a chance to swing and by then you probably would have died, or they block there attacks, and when you stop swinging, they'll kill you. Unlike in the first game, (where you can pause and find a weapon or exilir), you need to scroll through your inventory at the bottom left corner, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIGHT!!! Do yourself a favour and DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!! Buy the first one and charish it, if you buy this one you will most likely destroy it.

Very mixed feelings on this one!

Hmm. I must admit I was SO excited when I first read there would be a follow up to the BTVS xbox game. Having played the 1st a 1000 times and loved every minute of it I was psyched. I literally was counting down for the release date, only slightly concerned with the change in developers from Fox Interactive to Vivendi. The game came out and although I do like it, I dont love it and have not touched it since I finished it- I would rather play the 1st game. I know making comparisons may not be completely fair- but in truth we DO have the original game to compare it too. In Chaos Bleeds- the first thing I noticed and hated was the camera- I got stuck a million times because of it. I also did not like the larger resized characters- too cartoonish in appearance in my opinion. The lighting in the game I also didnt not care for- the characters were very iluminated even in dark sequence game play- where in the 1st Buffy game- the characters darkened with the room lighting. Also these characters do NO lip synching while in play as in the 1st game (when in the first game and playing as Buffy when ever she made a comment- when picking up hell fire and says "it must be my birthday" the Buffy model actually moves her lips in sequence to the words- EXCELLENT) which I thought added a strong dose of reality to the characters. My game also froze and locked up a million times especially on the Faith level. I also did not at all like the fighting arena- now instead of the characters being oversized, they are shrunken down and SO small you cant even see the faces clearly. There are NO weapons in multiplayer and it is repetetive in the sense you keep fighting the same group of baddies over and over again. But in the 1st Buffy- use the cheat code and you have free realm of the areas you are in to run, jump and fight as Normal sized Buffy- and add in the other cheat code and a friend can possess the baddies and you have a real- Mortal Kombat fighting arena- especially the first one where you run around this huge arena- now in Chaos Bleeds they lock you into a small area - and shrunk your character down... I am very dissapointed in this and I really HOPE IF there is a 3rd game- Fox interactive will pick it back up- maybe re-throw in Faith as a on again/off again playable and re-release a real kick ass Buffy game like the first one. I doubt there will be anymore after the sales of this game though..One more complaint- when you used your slayer power in the 1st game it REALLY felt like it packed a punch during game play- and in Chaos Bleeds you completely lose the feel of it- there is no OOOMPH in the fight......
