Ok, Ill try my hardest to skip the obvious comparrisons to the 1st Buffy game. In and of itself this game is fun, and if you're a Buffy fan, it's a must. The plot, and puzzles are cool, and the effects are decent. It is really cool that you can be the different characters at different stages, however, I have to agree that the Willow voice over sounds NOTHING like her. And yes, the sexual innuendos and witty banter, are funny, but they get repetitious, and old.
Ok, basically there are some significant problems with this game.
First, as I've noticed everyone has mentioned. The camera angles are horrible. They are about 10% as user friendly as the other game. When you're fighting several creatures this becomes annoying that you can't recenter your angle quickly. Ok, now past that.
Here is my big issue, and I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem. I have exchanged my game three times, with two different stores, and encountered the same issue. Sometimes when you finish a level the disc runs into errors when trying to advance to the save stage and basically, your up the creek. You have to play the level over. Also, if you're playing the level over and try and advance past the intro(since you've already seen it) I've encountered the same error where it can't handle the transition and doesn't save.
This has also occurred once during the actual gameplay, in the theater when running up the stairs the game locked.
Now, these are brand new games. My system is clean, and I have no problems with any other games. I thought one disc, well maybe a defect, two, hmmm..maybe a whole batch, now three I don't know.
Has anyone else encountered this?
This one flaw has been drastic enough that if I weren't such a Buffy lover to begin with I would've demanded my money back and never purchased this game again.
So bottom line is, I would give it 5 stars if the camera angles weren't so bad, but because of that and the loading errors, it drops to a 3.
After a while you WOULD WANT the world to end....

Buffy the vampire slayer is back for a second time on the Xbox...but this time she isn't alone. I was very excited to know that the makers were planning a second game...who wouldn't love to play as their favorite vampire slayer?! 'Play as Buffy, Faith, Spike, Xander, Willow, and Sid!" That was the sentence that fooled ME into buying this game... You DON'T get to play as these characters WHENEVER you want. You can play a certain character depending on the story line. The game consists of 12 levels:
The Magic Box:It's Byffy's birthday and the gang is celebrating happily at the Magic Box; unfortunetly the party is interupted by a gang of nasty uninvited guests. Here you get to play as Buffy, Willow, Xander, and Spike. After dusting some of the vampires, you are informed that kakistos is behind the attack. KAKISTOS? You thought he was dead...right? Well he is back!
The Cemetery: Buffy decides to patrol and see what strange occurencies might happen there. Surprise! She meets Sid the dead dummy. Sid informs Buffy that Kakistos passed by here. Buffy decides to follow the supposed dead vampire and is greeted by a series of really pissed off vampires and zombies. Kakistos tries to resurrect joyce and as Buffy you have to stop Mummy dearest from waking up!
Who is behind all of this 'Chaos'? No other than Ethan Rayne. Ethan has made a deal with the 'First'. He will choose 5 champions to compete against the forces of darkness and if they succed Ethan will have dark powers. Oohhh... As the champions, the heros are sucked in an alternate univerese where noting is what it seems! You have to find the missing body parts of the only 'Champion' who was able to defeat the First and find 'Hope's Dagger' to kill the first (who really is Ethan!). The game takes you to the Quarry (Faith), High School(Xander), the zoo(Buffy), The initiative (Spike), the Hospital(Buffy +Sid), The Mall (Willow), etc...
Now what is BAD about this game:
*The camera! I dispise the camera in this game...I probably died a million times because of it.
*The over-exageration of the game: your life is TOO short and the 'inventory' sucks! Try getting a medi-kit! You'll DIE just trying! The plot is really dull, and Hello-Willow's voice?!? "Here bookbookbook-I found a secret!-Someone's little hidey hole, let's take a peak!" The same lines REPEATED a zillion times!
*The sound: Especially in the cut-scenes! Their mouths are slower than the words! And sometimes you hear the 'staking' noise, while the vampire is STILL alive and kicking.
*The same demons from the FIRST game! The same vampires EVERY level...WITH the same comments!
*The puzzles are SO silly! Looking for a sun-dial? Placing rabbits on pentigrams?
This game is an embarassment to my Xbox AND to any Buffy fan! I'm really disapointed. The only 'GOOD' thing is the multiplayer games. THAT's it! Killing the bosses are easy and the plot is predictable! Even the extras are bad!
Buffy is a game that requirs charisma and humor-something this game lacks. The levels become very repeptitive in the end. I hope that IF there is a third game...it would be better.
Here is some of those one-liners you hear a million times!
"That's ALL she wrote!"-Buffy
"Faith...Pest control","Stay dead next time or I'll get REALLY cranky!", "Just by looking at my face you should have known it was going to end like this!","I'll call you dusty"-Faith
"Oh a medi-kit! I wish Tara were here then I can be nurse Willow!"
"For my booboos!"-Xander
"That's got to hurt!"-Spike
Nowhere near as good as the first

I loved the first Buffy game, a superb action game. The second installment in the series is a major dissapointment, which I hope the developer will view as a mistake. The camera is the worse I have ever seen and you'll want to kill your x-box, especially during jumping sequences. They changed a lot of things I liked about the first game, such as the wider camera view and the exciting fighting sequences. Combat in Chaos bleeds is boring in comparison and is apparently made for a younger gamer with its oversized characters and easier fighting. I wanted to like this game because I'm a fan of the show, but, unfortunately, its not very good. I find myself constantly trying to adjust the camera when fighting or exploring new locations. The game feels like it was rushed to the shelves, and the horrible camera takes away from some new cool features, including fighting with a sword.
Disappointing

Chaos Bleeds is the follow-up to the previous Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The game begins with Buffy and crew having to stave off an onslaught of vampires at the Magic Box (the local magic shop where Buffy's operations are based). As the battle comes to an end, one vampire lets slip a threat of impending destruction. What ensues is a lengthy journey that pits Buffy and company against a number of familiar foes.
Buffy, Willow, Xander, Spike, Faith, and Sid are all playable in different sections of the game, though you don't get to choose which character to take through each section of a mission. The game simply switches control over to a different character depending on what the plot requires. In some instances characters will pair up in combat situations.
The one aspect of Chaos Bleeds that was really disappointing was the graphics. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a pretty great looking game, but Chaos Bleeds looks awful. Overall, I was pretty happy that I rented this game and didn't purchase it.
It's Buffy , and it's fantastic

Alright, alright. ... what's with all the bad reviews from people? Not only is this game faithful to the show , it's also a very fun game!
Speaking as a 'hardcore' Buffy fan I can say this...and speaking as a video game fan I can also.
There are problems with this game , yes. But, show me a game that is flawless!
It had been a while since I've played the game but I did complete it. Also, I started it up again and thought to myself "Self, this is really a good game!"
The characters have the 'Buffy' feel, the control of the characters is great the voice acting is...for the most part, good. And the over all feel of the game is also good.
You play as many differant characters and they all play a bit differantly, *for the most part* which not only keeps the game from getting boring but, pleases Buffy fans!
It's everything a Buffy fan could want in a video game.
Now, for the negative .
-the graphics while are 'good' could have been better. It seems a little cheaply made.
-/+Willow??? So they didn't get the original actress , I understand but I still don't have to like who they got to play the part, the same goes for Anya.
-/+The writing for the game was pretty good but not quite as good as the show itself *my own personal negative*
-The Camera....pshh whatever...it's not great I'll give you that but it's not too bad. Though, it is worth mentioning.
Overall this is a very fun game on its own, and for Buffy fans it's just shy of the Holy Grail of Buffy games. I do hope they keep making these games since all of them have been real good.
Though, it would be nice to see some improvements.
No serious complaints though, this is a very fun game.
Pee Ess; there's a ton of extras to unlock :-)
This game bites!

As a Buffy fan, I cannot believe I would ever write this, but don't waste your time or money on this game. It was a major disappointmnet after last year's incredible release from The Collective. I bought an Xbox just for the original game and still play it all the time. Compared to the other games I have played since then, Chaos Bleeds fails in every respect. Eurocom destroyed everything that made the first game so enjoyable. The graphics are pathetic, the fighting is simplistic AND annoying, some of the puzzles are frustrating to the point of nausea, and you're lucky if your controls work at all. Case in point, Willow's spells NEVER work. And the boss battles? I don't remember a single episode of Buffy when she had to run around and beat up magic energy orbs in stead of actually fighting the Big Bad! The first game really felt like an actual episode. Chaos Bleeds is more like a nightmare. Playing as the other characters is enjoyable and probably the only reason to play at all. As for stroy line, read the manual instead and see how it plays out. I hope Vivendi Universal or Fox comes to their senses and hires The Collective next time around.
A Work In Progress

I haven't quite finished this game yet but I do have a few gripes. Why doesn't this game have a save system like the first Buffy game? I hate the continue points! When you reach a boss in a level and have trouble and just want to turn the game off for a while and play later, you can't because if you turn the game off you will have to start the whole level over. And these levels are very long. Much longer than the first Buffy game. You have to find items which can be difficult to spot and figure out how to use them. Also, I hate the inventory system. When you accessed the inventory on the first Buffy game it was a completely different screen and you could find what you needed and then go back into the game. For Chaos Bleeds, you have to access the D-pad while being pummelled by vampires or other creatures and in desperate need of a Medipack. Very annoying! I really want to like this game as I am a huge Buffy fan. But so far I have just wanted to give up out of frustration.

First of all i would like to say i love Faith from Buffy aka Eliza Dushku and i was thrilled when i heared she would be included in the game as a playable character. As ell as her you get to be loads of others in multiplayer mode and the usual characters in the single player mode. I've pr-ordered mine already and i can't wait until it is realesed.
Not nearly as good as the first

I have to say that I'm disappointed with Chaos Bleeds. I wanted to give it 3 stars but because its Buffy I've upped it to 4.
My biggest complaint about this game are the camera angles. They're a huge pain in the [rear]. The imaginary camera constantly bumps into walls, trees, etc. And forget about seeing where you're going in a narrow hallway or small room. Also, you can no longer re-center the camera angle with a tap to the right trigger. You have to press the right thumbstick which hardly ever works. Another issue for me is that you can't choose a level of difficulty... and let's just say that I'm cruisin' right along. The only true plus is that you get to play as a variety of other characters(specifically Spike, Zander, Faith, Willow and of course Buffy). However, you don't get to choose who you play as. Each segment in the game jumps from character to character. You only get to pick in multiplayer mode.
The first Buffy I'd have recommended to any gamer because it was such a great game. Not the case with Chaos Bleeds. I would only recommend this game to true Buffy fans...just don't expect it to live up to the first.
An ok game

I bought this game the day it came out and started playing it right away. I am up to the last level with the first, and I cannot seem to kill him and the stupid thing about the game is you can't save it where you left off or at a check point, cause if you do that, you have to start all over again at the beginning of the level. does anyone have any idea how to beat the first? It seems I can only hit him once and then I eventually die, I know you have to hit him 6 times, but I can never get past one. Willow's vioce seems mechanical and how come SMG never does her vioce for the games, Xander's voice was comical and Faith's was pretty good. Also, when you hit a bad guy, sometimes you can get turned around and are kicking nothing, you don't stay on the bad guy like in some games, all in all, an ok game, but I enjoyed the first game better.
