It Made Me Buy An XBOX...

This game is great. It's involved and has great video/movie clips. You get to play each character (although I thought Faith was the best character for fighting with). Plus the further you get in the game the more behind the scenes footage you get to see such as the outtakes of the cast as they are doing their voiceovers. A must have for any Buffy fan or even for those who like a game that kicks some ass.

if your a buffy fan buy this game

Buffy: Chaos Bleeds is a spectacular game. I have the first game, so when I bought Chaos Bleeds, I had high expectations. The game was even better than I even thought it would ever be. It has amazing weaponry, it has difficult yet fun puzzles, and the graphics rock! My advice is to BUY THIS GAME NOW, BEFORE THEY ARE ALL GONE!!!!

Real Vamps

Yes there are real vamps,I am not one,as far as I know, but they are out there. simply go to altavista and type in 'real vampires' am then press search. around three /four down, you will reach a vampire support page "sangurinarius" it contains loads of info for those who have been awakened. if you like the taste of blood and have unnatural cravings for it,go on ahead you might as well go,but as for"non-vamps" read anyway. this game was rated as a "2 out of 5" by x-play(aka extended play, aka gamespot) and said that buffy looked like the " undead"(real vamps ARE alive, are NOT immortal, and as for anything holy, dont bother, they are as normal as the rest of "us")I only put one star because I havent played the game

First, let me say that I'm a HUGE BtVS fan. I just purchased an XBox this week so that my hubby can play Knights of the Old Republic, and I rented the 1st Buffy game. I've been playing it for about 2 hours now and I can't put it down! As for Chaos Bleeds, from the E3 screenshots and videos, I have NO DOUBT whatsoever that this will be WAY better than the 1st Buffy game, and do justice to the Buffy legacy! All I'm saying is, I can't wait for an Angel superhero, Batman-type game!!! BUY THIS GAME NOW!

Some good points, but just not as good as the original

Chaos Bleeds is an ample sequel to the original Buffy console game. But just like they all say, the sequel just isn't as good as the original. While the first Buffy game for the Xbox was easy to learn and a hoot to play, Chaos is so frustrating to learn. The controls are almost the same as the first, but there are changes... that IMO, don't make gameplay any easier. It's hard to see things, because the camera flips around to the wrong angle... The center camera feature, which used to be one of the trigger buttons in the original game, is now done by pushing the right thumbstick... and the camera controls are just not easy to use. In the original, you could look first person by pressing one of the trigger buttons and moving the right thumbstick around... but in this one, you can't do that (or I haven't figured out how). Accessing inventory is a pain, and difficult to get used to doing... especially when you're in the middle of a vamp fight. The controls are just not responsive enough, especially when in fights; and when using the jump feature.

The voices are good... The voice of Buffy is great, considering that its not SMG; but the voice of Willow is very annoying. The voice work makes her sound like a moron; and Willow was never a moron. Anya's voice work isn't as annoying, but sounds nothing like her. All of the modeling makes the characters look remarkably like their TV counterparts; and it's a hoot to get to play as Willow Spike and Xander.

Still, you'll spend alot of your time during gameplay wishing that you could do things more like you did in the first Buffy game. But after a while, you'll get used to it...

This game is a worthwhile buy to the Buffy enthusiast that's in fits of depression over the lack of Sunnydale on this Fall's TV season. But if you're not a Buffy fan, you'll probably find this game incredibly frustrating.

Fans of Buffy need only apply...

After playing the first Buffy game countless times (and enjoying it each time), my anticipation for Chaos Bleeds was high, especially when I learned that the game mechanics of the sequel were supposed to be similar to the first game. Unfortunately, that anticipation has turned to moderate disappointment. Chaos Bleeds is a step backwards for the Buffy game franchise.

The Seattle reviewer below gave a pretty thorough and on-the-mark review of the game. The camera, even if you invert the horizontal and vertical via the options menu, is still a frustrating obstacle. Many vamps, zombies, werewolves and other creepy crawlies will get in many sucker punches simply because the camera will not cooperate in time for you to defend or attack. Even worse, the combat mechanics don't seem as slick as the first game's. It's an ordeal executing moves in this game when you've got 2-3 baddies taking whacks at you all at once. The addition of a block button and the sidestep feature is nice, but not enough to overcome the problems with the fighting mechanics.

The graphics are a noticeable improvement over the first game, much sharper and the colors are more vibrant. However, pick-up items are a nightmare to locate at times because of the lighting. The characters resemble their flesh-and-blood counterparts pretty well, with the possible exception of Xander. And yes, Willow and Anya's voices are terrible -- especially Willow's. The actress that provides Buffy's voice is the same from the first game (Jennifer Hale) and she's spot on -- you'd swear it's SMG.

If you're expecting more of what you loved in the first Buffy game, you're going to be disappointed with Chaos Bleeds, but if you're a Buffy fan the game certainly deserves a look. I'd highly recommend renting instead of buying. Everyone else, try another game.
