an all out fighting affair

super smash bros. is like having a royal rumble. everyone fights and whoever gets knocked out the most wins. it is a fighting game-with an original formula. no one has a life bar, everyone just fights until they get knocked off from the stage. if you've played smash bros. for the N64 then you'll love this. it has more of everything with great graphics to boot. if you're new to the series then i think it's time that you should check this game out. it's more fun if you have friends to play with, but its single player is fun nonetheless. this is highly recommended. if you have a gamecube then u shouldnt miss this one out.

I laughed so hard I could have cried!

I think this game is the best ever for groups of people. My friends and I played together for first time together. We couldn't stop laughing and having fun. Fighting at first was confusing but hilarious. Whether we were playing as Yoshi or Zelda we never got bored and played for hours. Some of the environments were more confusing and less fun but it was the actual sight of seeing an opponents face wipe against the tv that made this game so much fun. So many character and color schemes!!! The sound effects are great.

ALL Gamecube owners should have this game!

This is hands down the best fighting game of all time. Anyone over 7 should be allowed to own this game, even though the rating is T. No blood, the characters don't die (Instead of falling on spikes when you lose, you just appear clapping for the winner). And instead of just kicking and punching, you can fire blasts of energy, throw bombs, hit people with bats, or use lightsabers. Even my anti Nintendo friends love this game. The best character is Samus.

I guss I will start by saying this is one of the best games that you can buy for GameCube. One of the best parts about it is that it has vary easy controls to master so any one can play. The only problem is that it takes you forever to unlock all the people and places (I'v played it for 4yrs and still don't have all the places!) The other problem is it's not as fun in one player (but if you play enough you can kick your friends a##)

BEST MULTIPLAYER GAME FOR GC EVER

This is one of, if not THE best game for the gamecube. It's one of only a few that has the capability for good multiplayer action. There's always new trophies, stages and characters to be found. Worth every cent.

THE PERFECT MULTIPLAYER GAME!!!

Have you ever had one of those days were you and your friends kept changing games every ten minutes because you couldn't find one that all of you liked? WELL GUESS WHAT? YOU JUST FOUND THE PERFECT GAME. This is probably the greatest fighter/party-game/multiplayer game ever invented.

The game has a very simple structure. Combatants land in the arena, then proceed to knock the stuffing out of each other. Well actually, there is a little more to it. ;) As opposed to regular fighting games, SSBM does not consist of your standard damage taking health bar. It rates it's damage by percent. Players start with 0% damage. When they get hit the percent rises, slowly at first, but then the more people get hit, the faster the percent rises. Once people reach the "Red Zone" (anywhere from 200% to 300%) hits will start too knock them back farther. In other words, if Link is fighting Luigi, and Luigi has about 300% damage, and Link gives him a good solid hit, Luigi takes a one way ticket to the moon.

During the fight, there will be many things that can affect the players besides each other. Items rain from the sky, consisting of everything from baseball bats to mushrooms to Pokeballs. The arenas themselves can even affect the player. Some move, some disappear, some even change into different arenas.

Characters range from Pokemon, to residents of the Mushroom Kingdom, to residents of Hyrule, to characters from Fire Emblem, to Fox and Falco, to a bunch of people who you've probably never heard of in your life (Mr. Game and Watch, yeah, that's a dudes name). Courses are basically the character's homes, yet they are so well designed that they are all a completely new experience. No matter how many times you will be in one course, it will always be fun. Modes have more than you could ever imagine. Melee Mode, Tournament Mode, Classic Mode, Adventure Mode, Giant Mode, Camera Mode, and of course what would any fighting game be without... INVISIBLE MODE?!

Anyway, I've had this game for a very LOOOOOONG time, and no matter much my friends and I play it, we never get sick of it. EVER. So do yourself a favor, buy it, play it, and realize what a smart person you are for doing so.

worth getting even if you have the first

Especially because of all the new modes of play, the heaps of totally new stages, items, and characters.
The graphics are totally stunning and it's really great fun collecting the 300 or so trophies.

I only have a few problems with the game, one being that Jigglypuff is still in it and I hate him, and Gannondorf (secret character) is EXACTLY like captain falcon. Other than that the new characters rock.

The ultimate multiplayer game.

You CANNOT buy a GCN w/o getting this game!!!

Of all nintendo games that have ever come out (except for super mario bros. 3) this is the best i have put my hands on. It lasts for hours and hours and hours and hours....ok i'll stop. but really, i got it at the end of December, and I didnt beat it til the end of February!(I spent most of my free time playing on it, and thats a ton.) First of all, the multiplayer is great. Personally, i love the tournament mode w/ 4 players. But there is also the classic brawl between 2 or 4 players. Then theres the single player mode. I love it most of all. I like the challenge of trying to get all of the hidden characters and stages. There has been LOADS of improvement on the single player mode from the first one. there's classic, adventure, target test, homeruns, multi man melee, and lots of other stuff. Overall, the modes are awesome.
Onto the gameplay. Its amazing! All the characters have awesome attacks and cool looking ones. All the characters can move fast and block attacks. Its awesome.
The graphics are really stunning. The n64 version looks like cow dung to this. Fox's cheeks dont point out like the fox in n64. All the characters have had a facelift and added to them the GCN's power.
The music is great too. I like listening to the zelda and mario themes.
I give this game five stars mainly because it is for everyone. No one can not like this game. Its impossible! And if nintendo is planning on another SSB on gamecube, bring it on, but i dont know how they're going to improve this one! Overall, go out and buy it today. You have no need to rent it, trust me.

Love the game
