Fast and fun challenge

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 3 / 4

The game starts off easy, Shoot Pass Steal. This takes about 30 seconds. The control of more advanced moves are very intuitive as well and it quickly becomes not about how to play the game but how to play the game well.
I've played lots of Mario Golf, Tennis, and Kart, but Strikers is the most challenging so far. Usually you can plow through the first few cups before breaking a sweat, but it took us quite a few trys to make it through even mushroom cup on the normal difficulty.
The graphics are great, with nice motion capture(?) animation, fire, smoke, and slow motion action.
Unlike prior titles you are not force-fed saccharin soundbits every shot you take, it's more about an over-the-top soccer game than exploiting the franchise to make a buck.
One special note, for anyone who played NBA Jam titles: there is a brutal "shove" button (rather than the slide-tackle/steal) which will clear out your opponent. However, unlike the Midway NBA games your opponent is awarded a weapon/item if you smash a player who doesn't have the ball.

Minus points: 1. Loading time is long by GC standards. Maybe it's just they don't hide it very well. 2. The interface is pretty sparse. Not that I like obnoxious bouncy menus, but a little more perhaps. 3. Possible CPU Assistance(?). I'm not sure, but it seems like your goalie becomes confused if you're playing well. The CPU seems to make some incredible shots if down in the last 30 seconds. Maybe not, but that's what it seems like.

A great buy for you and your friends. The best addition to the franchise since Kart, I think.

This is the best Mario Sports game out there!

I never even heard that this game was coming out when it first released, but then my friend came over and he had bought it on a whim, and we fell in love.

This is the best Mario Sports game out there and differs from the other sports titles in the Mario series. It is rather refreshing to see a Mario game where the characters are not playing soccer to, say, free the twelve star maidens to chase Bowser away from the land, so they can party all night. This game is lacking any type of story, other then to win a tournament. It is full of out right hatred for the other players, and is quickly evident. The characters begin each match with a taunt, and then continue to bash each other around into electrical fences. (I really enjoy the sound of Daisy screaming as she hits an electrical Fence) It is the most fun I have ever had playing a soccer game.

The basic play is you and a team of 5 others (Sidekicks) is on the field competing against another team of 5. It will take tackles, shells, and the Captain?s (main character) super striker move to beat this match.

Over all this was a great game. Its graphics were not the best in the world, but they suited very well for this game. The one player mode was pretty fun, but where this game is best played in is multi-player mode. The controls are quick and easy to master, which is good for any player, new or veteran.

I give Super Mario Strikers an 8 out 10.

Fun yet Violent!

Yet another sports game comes into the mushroom kingdom. Mario and his gang are now playing a very violent game of soccer. Yes this game is the best sports game but a little violent. There is an eletrical fence around the field where you play so when the soccerball hits it, it bounces right of the wall. If someone touches the fence they scream a terrible scream that you don't want to hear and when they are electricuted you see their bones and organs EEEWWW!!! Many objects are violent to throw around like a bomb. KABOOM the player lies on the ground for 30 seconds how mean, and there is no music!

here is how i rate it
1.Graphics-A
2.music (none)
3.voices C-
4.fun A+!

I WOULD RECOMEND THIS GAME!

Super Mario Strikers Is a Great Game. It has Amazing Graphics Annoying Voices And Awsome goals like Leaping Headers and bicycle kicks.First of all it has diffrent cup battels which are extremley easy at first. But when you go into higher degrres of difficulty is very challenging.you start your cup battel with one classic character such asa mario, luigi, yoshi ect... and then you pick a side kick birdo, toad, koopaor hammer Bros then you play.the controls are very easy to learn.Over allthis game was not as good as toad stool tour but is one of the best Mario new ganeration games

Killer game!!...Literally!

Okay, I bought this game and almost stopped myself from buying it. But when I brought it home and started playing it, it kicked butt, in both meanings! If you like Mario, great games, and a little violence, BUY THIS GAME! You can bicycle kick, shoot impossible goals, set-up your dreams plays, slide tackle from behind, and most importantly, HEAD-BUTT people! No rules and Mario all mixed into one small game package is the best idea Nintendo's ever made.

Two thumbs way up isn't saying enough!!!! It's the awesomest!

Mario and co. scores a goal on that one!!

Mario is known to be nintendo`s star after all these years he`s still attractive to kid and gamer. Mario is becoming a sport franchise with titles from mario tennis on gamecube and n64,mario golf on gc and 64.Now he plays baseball and soccer but adds the Mario touch with special moves and more.

Mario plays soccer, well it isnt ordinary soccer the fields are crazy, you have special moves.Every game that has `Mario` written on it is a sure succes over the years franchise like mario party, super smash bros, mario kart have been nintendo`s best selling games. The games provide again great multiplayer experience.

If you play the game alone its fun and all but after you bea the game a while it isnt but the multiplayer always is thats why i love multiplayer games. The game is already crazy enough, when you play multiplayer the game can really be chalenge. The game isnt that long but its really fun it ressemble mario tennis after all the special moves came from that game.

Yeah so the game has the super moves like mario tennis wich are explosive enough yet i think in that game they fit better. The graphics looks great for a mario game only that the camera doesnt have other angle so if you dont like that wiew you cant change it.

Many characters from the mario saga introducing bowser`s mega team wich i have never seen in any mario games that ive played. You have to pick a captain and then chose a kind of ally between birdo, koopa, toad and another one. Then you will have 3 of the ally you selected to make a team.Teams will have different colours you cant change `em.

Only the captain of the team can make super moves other players cant. The game is simple but the fun is there! You have tournaments like the mushroom cup and stuff but you have the super cup mode. Also there is a bowser tournament and awards wich makes the game great.

I really love this game but i didnt like soccer,Mario fans will dig this the game is so great.Mario and co. scores big on that one!RECOMENDED.

Hilarious game

The toad people are hilarious as always and Nintendo decided to give Peach a peculiarly huge booty. The game has been called "aggressive" and "more urban" by some reviews and I'd have to agree. Despite the fact that the other team gets a bonus item (shells, stars, etc) when you perform "big hits" on opponents without the ball, sometimes it's just too funny to resist the urge to check the other team into oblivion. Anyhow- great game.

Mario Strikers is the Second best multiplayer game on Game Cube

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 3 / 7

Mario Strikers is the second best multiplayer game on Game Cube after Mario Superstar Baseball. Although it does have as large of a roster or as many stadiums as Mario Superstar Baseball, it makes up for it with the sheer aggressiveness of the intense gameplay. Mario Strikers is street soccer at its finest. The characters are well-designed with some of the best 3D modeling around. The characters have angry facial expressions, which I am still unsure if it is a good thing or a bad thing but it is somewhat humorous. The selection of side-kicks is only limited to four and they comprise the majority of your team with the exception of your captain; however, the side-kicks have the Mario charm and are fun. The ability to power shots and get 2-points goals is simply fantastic. I play this game with one of my friends all the time and we are both gamers but this game is the only game that he clobbers me nearly every time in. He can do those 2-point goals on cue throughout the game with no hesitation and without missing. I think he only missed like three 2-point goals in ten 10 minute games and that is because he was not paying attention or even trying at those times. It is unreal. I wonder if he has some kind of setting for his team that enables him to do so, but he says that he honestly does not and since it is my system I believe him. He might be the best player in the world at this game and he says he is, but you would have to see it to believe it for yourselves. This intense struggle to win and make every goal at this game and send your opponents into the electrical fence that surrounds all the fields in this game is what makes this game so great and so competitive. It is definitely a fast-paced soccer game unlike soccer simulations.
