Star Wars Bounty Hunter rocks!!!!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 16 / 20

This is one of the greatest Star Wars games! Not only do you get to claim bounties other than the main baddies, but you can fry civilians! Nothing can satisfy you more then the sight of a well-done resident. You can use a bunch of weapons, like saberdart launchers, twin blaster pistols, whip-cord, ID scanners, and more!

You can't stop playing this game once you start. The graphics are great and the music is fabulous. The voices are also good. Bounty Hunter takes place through episodes one and two, so there's plenty of game play.

You will travel through many worlds and places like the home of some tusken raiders, or the skyscrapers of coruscant. You have to take out millions of Republic guards, aliens, out-laws, and rival bounty hunters. This game is over-all a great, must have game!

Cool game.

This game is good. I was skeptical about buying it because it has received relatively bad reviews, but I took a chance on it anyway. If you are thinking about buying this game, first answer these questions: Do you think Jango Fett is cool? Do you want to know some history and back story about Jango? Are you into Star Wars? If you answered "Yes" to these questions, then I completely recommend this game to you. I just don't see how anyone who is into Star Wars or Jango Fett cound NOT like this game. The graphics are impressive, the sound is of course wonderful (all Lucasarts games have great sound), and the cutscenes look fantastic. The Playstation 2 version supposedly has some frame rate issues, but I did not notice any problems on the GameCube version. Reviewers have knocked this game because of some collision detection issues and clipping, and I admit, these are apparent in the game, but THEY IN NO WAY SPOIL THE GAME. Sure the game is not perfect, but what game is. Taken for what its worth, Star Wars Bounty Hunter is cool. I bought this game because I read a lot of positive USER reviews. The USERS are the ones who make or break a game...they are the ones who buy it. I can tell you that I do not regret buying this game at all. And to think I almost didn't buy it because of lackluster game site reviews. Again, if you like Jango Fett, you will like this game, for you can do anything he does. The jetpack is great, and it is a blast to control. And here's a hint: there are codes to unlock all of the levels in the game readily available on many easy to find video game websites. So, you can play any level you want and just have fun. What's wrong with that? Isn't that what games are made for? When I pay fifty bucks for a game, I want to play it, experience it...not get stuck on level two and lose my temper, therefore not playing it very much. Just pick this one up Jango lovers.

Undoubtly, The BEST GAME EVER!

Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, is without a doubt, th8e best action\adventure game ever, easy rivaling HALO and Zelda: Ocarina of Time. YOu take on the role of Jango Fett in his mission to find the leader on a secret cult...Dead or a Alive. You access to a huge arsenal of weapons, including toxic darts, flamethrowers, sniper rifles, and my favorite, dual blaster psitols. You also have unlimited access to Jango's jet pack. What could be cooler than see that there are guys shooting at you from another building and rocket up and forward and blast them with your pistols from the air? The graphics are simply incrediable. The game pushes Gamecube's proccessor to the limit(imagine that!). Pre order this now. To all X-Box owners, IN YOUR FACE!!!

An Excellent GCN Title

I've seen a lot of reviews that have really put this game down. I just don't get it. Bounty Hunter is definitely the best game that I've gotten for my GCN.

First off, I have to say that the in-game movies are simply, unarguably the best in any game ever released. Both the voice acting and on-screen graphics are unmatched by anything. The in-game graphics are not on the level of some game like Star Fox Adventures or Metroid Prime but I have to say that they are definitely above average, and do a good job of capturing the Star Wars universe. Each level has its own special feel. The best one is Coruscant, which you must see to believe. If you look up, you see towering skyscrapers lit up with holographic signs, with multiple levels of sky traffic.

Graphics: 8/10

The sound is certainly the best I have heard yet in a GCN title. Skywalker Sound did a great job with this title. All of the classic Star Wars sound effects, from lightsabers to blasters to hyperdrives, are perfectly done. The voice acting is even better, which you have to see for yourself.

Sound: 10/10

The gameplay is what a lot of people have complained about. I can't understand why. It is FUN. It gets repetitive occasionally, but let me tell you, toasting 50 guys with a flamethrower, shooting a bunch of toxic darts, leaping through the air with your jetpack while shooting twin blasters and then finally launching a guided missile does NOT get boring very quickly. The levels are long and between the length of the 18 levels and the many bonuses (including some very funny outtakes) this game should last you quite a while.

Gameplay: 9/10
Replay Value: 8.5/10

Overall, this game is certainly a title any Star Wars fan or anybody seeking excellent action/adventure games should get. If the other reviews have discouraged you, then rent it first. But certainly don't let Bounty Hunter, one of the best GCN titles to date, pass you by.

OVERALL: 9.5/10

This is a phenomenal game. If your a Star Wars fan especially, you'll be knocked out by the Lucasfilm Archives sound effects (Ithorians, Jawas, Tuskens, and Gonk Droids to name a few).

I don't understand the complaints either with the gameplay. Those who claim to have "beat" the game in a single day are simply playing video games too much. The mere length of the game would require, literally, a day...and that's providing a perfect performance on your debut outing! But then, I suppose anyone who plays video games that much isn't going to be surprised by much; many games have structure similar to this one, but I've seen few pull it off with as much panache and grace. The controls are pretty easy to master, offer a ton of variety, and the enemies provide ample challenge. As far as the bounties go, I had a blast looking for them. They don't offer anything necessary, per se, for the gameplay to take place (in other words, you can simply blast 'em all if you want), but provide a personal & fun challenge, much like trophy hunting in Tournament Melee does.

The atmosphere is simply enchanting, atmospheric and increasingly creepy as the game goes on. Ultimately, as a Star Wars fan, you will be submersed into a convincing, enveloping world that is already familiar to you from the movies. It will be a joy for you just to walk through it!

The voice acting was done by Temuerra Morrison (Jango), Clancy Brown (Montross) and even the woman who actually played Zam Wessel in Attack of the Clones. Extremely well done with great cut scenes and outtakes.

I only hope a sequel will appear someday.

A New Twist on Star Wars

This is a simply amazing game. The graphics are awesome, and the voice overs are great too. In nearly all of the star wars games for any platform, you're a jedi, facing wookies with blasters, and cutting thru them like a warm knife thru butter. This game presents a challenge, not to mention that Jango Fett is awesome beyond imaginable. You face enemies that arent easy to kill and you do so with graphics that are unpresidented for a star wars game. The story line is good and easy to follow and Jangos wit is definitly cool. I would recomend this to any gamer who likes star wars, and a decsent challenge.

Let Bounty Hunter float away with the rest of the garbage!

Another underdevloped game based on a following from other forms of media. Another case of where, programmers spend little time on a Star Wars game, knowing that name alone will sell. I am a fan of Star Wars. Grew up with it since the first showing of A New Hope's so long ago. I am also an experienced gamer of over 15 years and finished 60 games, give or take and played probably ten times that amount.

For the record I accually can give no stars to this game. There are no pro's here, only cons. This game is absolute garbage. At best, it'd make a nice [$$$] coaster for a cool glass of ice-tea.

This game not inovative at all. Details you want? You got them....

1)Poor, repeat, Poor camera control, since you yourself have to control it any time you turn around. For some reason they found it to be neccesary to give you near 100% control of the angles. This is all well and good, unless of coarse you are being attacked on a regular basis.

2)Among the best examples of lazy developing is its limited turning points. Unlike Metroid: Prime and WELL developed games, where when you turn, YOU TURN to any degree you want. Bounty Hunter developers seems to be unaware video games have come this far. In Bounty Hunter there are only what I counted to be a mere four turning points.

3)Even worse than than my 2nd example is you can not back up from where you stand. Pulling back on your control pad only turns him around to face you the player. Doesn't really help if you need to send cover fire as you try to retreat, does it? What adds to this particular irritant is the manual control of the camera angles. So not only do you have to take aim with Janga's weapons but, also have to angle the camera at the same time.

4) Simple, no strafing feature that I could see.

5) And a most important point. How many people here wanted to play a character that had a jetpack and could use it often? I did. Good thing I don't trust commercials for face value since, the TV ads made it look like you use the jetpack alot. Wrong, and I should have known too. You don't even START with the jetpack. What's up with that? What's worse is I have read over and over, the jetpack once you finaly get it, is only good for a quick thrust, no accual flying. So much for dynamic game play.

I find it insulting that this is what Star Wars fans have to settle for instead of a game made with care about the movies and the expanded universe, the contributers who helped Star Wars grow, and the true gamers who knows what it takes to make a game fun. I urge people not to settle for a game like this. Buying games with a popular title and poor game control basicly is another way to tell developers you don't care about quality. And I'd have to be crazy to think no one cares about quality.

I am only a few months into owning my Game-Cube and I'll tell you who reads this. Bloodrayne (Not meant for kids FYI) and Metroid top this game. If these games were cars. Blood Rayne and Metroid would be sports cars jetting down an open highway. Star Wars: Bounty Hunter would be a rusted out box on wheels lacking a muffler and unable to start until the key is turned for the third or fourth time.

Everybody has a price.....(on their head that is!!!)

there aren't many words to describe this game except AWESOME!!!totally blows away the ps2 version. Graphics are smooth and bright and jango looks just like he did in epII. controls take a while to get used to but are easily mastered in about 20 min even for the most novice of gamers. the sound is incredible even with dolby surround.you really feel as if you are jango after a while.this game will be at the top of every gamers list this xmas, and if it isnt, there might be a bounty out for you!!!I also highly recommend METROID PRIME and SW-Rogue Leader as the first games for your gamecube collection. Happy Hunting!!!

Become Jango Fett, the toughest, most efficient, ruthless, cunning - and sleekest looking - bounty hunter to ever stalk a quarry, in this exciting adventure game from the Jedi Knights at Lucas Arts. "Star Wars: Bounty Hunter" takes place between the first two Star Wars prequels and follows Jango as he is employed by Darth Tyranus to track down and eliminate a deranged renegade Jedi who has become leader of a mysterious cult called the Bando Gora. Sandwiched between action-packed blaster-fests and bounty hunting exploits, you will learn much about Jango's past, find out how he came into possession of the Slave I, and run into familiar and new characters alike, such as Jango's arch-nemesis Montross, and the eccentric Toydarian, Rozatta. The cinema scene graphics are astounding, some rivaling the grandeur of the actual Star Wars films. The story, which reveals how Jango was selected to be the template for the clone army seen in "Episode II - Attack of the Clones", is very engaging, inspiring the impetus to complete each level in order to progress the plot. Temuera Morrison, the actor who portrayed Jango in "Attack of the Clones", lends additional realism by providing the voice for the title character. The no-nonsense Jango never deviates from his hard-boiled, adamantine persona. For the soundtrack, George Lucas' little helpers at the Skywalker Ranch have culled some of the most adrenaline-pumping action cues from John Williams' orchestral arsenal.

The 18 stages (six chapters of three stages) thrust you through a variety of planets and environments within the Star Wars universe, each with its own unique quality. Coruscant and Tatooine look as if they have been fused directly from the films, and the moon of Bogden has a deliciously dark atmosphere. The gameplay and graphics bear much resemblance to earlier Lucas Arts Star Wars games, especially "Shadows of the Empire" (another great). Because the game was designed by the same people who brought you the films, you know it will have that signature Star Wars look and feel. To assist you on the hunt, several weapons and nifty devices are at your disposal - love that jetpack! Each stage offers just the right amount of corridor trekking and shoot-em-up laser battles to keep you enthralled. Although the game is challenging, all of the bosses are pushovers, and the final stage is one of the easiest. Unfortunately, much of challenge comes from undesirable play control and disorienting camera angles. The cinema scene graphics are, as Darth Vader would say, "most impressive", but the stage graphics are barely 64-bit caliber. The game also suffers from a lack of variety in game play - you are circumscribed to working Jango through run-of-the-mill, jump, climb and fight-laden, semi-maze stages. It would have been nice to play at least one stage in which you control the Slave I starship. The object of hunting for optional secondary bounties seems to be a prefabricated gimmick thrown in to compensate for gameplay shortcomings. Although the flaws seem many, it does little to scuttle the overall amusement derived from playing the game. If you like the Star Wars universe, this game will not disappoint.

"Star Wars: Bounty Hunter" also features a wealth of extras which are unlocked as you complete stages or collect secrets. These extras are: pages from the Dark Horse "Jango Fett" comic book; Wizards of the Coast Trading Cards; concept art; and several hilarious outtakes, like Jango struggling with his props, and Montross (voice of actor Clancy Brown) complaining because he was too old to play Anakin Skywalker in the films!

Perhaps I am a trifle biased because Jango Fett is my favorite character in the Star Wars universe, but I found "Star Wars: Bounty Hunter" to be even more entertaining than the first two prequels.

This game is awesome! With great graphics, great gameplay , and a great storyline. There's so many weapons and devices to choose from you can blast 'em, burn 'em, catch 'em, shock 'em, explode 'em, and just totally demolish them! The only drawback is you have to keep tapping buttons in the middle of a fight to get the weapon you want. And that sometimes hurts your health. It's a fairly hard game and is very enjoyable! It's awesome dodging bullets, fighting dozens of baddies at once, flying around and shooting everything! There's alot of great things to this game that makes up for the little nuisance of switching weapons around. Stick with the dual blasters and have a blast!!!
