My favorite game

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 4 / 6

This is the best game ever. U get to play as Aragorn, Gimili, and Legolas. U might only beat it once but u have three people to beat it with. Once u beat a level with a charactor u have to beat the last level to do it again. U don't get to play as Gandalf but u see him on a couple levels and he's really cool. By the way I hate playing as Gimili. Gimili is the strongest, Legolas is the fastest, and Aragorn is a combination of them both.

Pros
play as Legolas
play as Isiuldor {secret charactor}
awsome graphics and sound
voices of the origanal actors
good fight seens
awsome levels
Cons
can't play as Gandalf
really short
skips many seens
the fist half is from the fist movie

Well, it pleased the Dark Lord, so it's good.

This game proved itself worthy of it's title. The game is indeed fun, and decently challenging of course. The graphics on the PS2 version left a bit to be desired, but were nice nonetheless. The movie scenes spliced into it spice things up nicely. Each character is unique, and the special moves you can buy after each level add a lot to the replay value, and helped a great deal against Sauron's hordes of Ugliness. Not the best game I've ever played, but certainly fun.

Wow! this game is awsome!I read the books and have been waiting for the day when LOTR would become a game. You will experience playing as Aragorn, Legolas, or Gimli, as you battle your way through action-packed levels! The graphics satisfied me on the PS2 version, and don't you worry GC gamers the experience will be on your platform soon enough.

Too much fighting not enough adventure.

I am giving this review 3 stars because I like the extra interview features and the fact this game has so many elements of the movies such as the voice actors, movie clips, scenery from the movies etc. It's being in middle earth which is really cool.

What I don't like is that this game just drops you from one major battle to the next with little adventuring. There are so many monsters to hit eventually you're just pressing buttons and it's hard even on the very easy setting.

Without cheat codes I wouldn't be able to make it through the levels.

What I like about reading the books of the Lord of the Rings is the adventuring and the fatastic enchanted places and peoples. That seems to be lost on these game developers. They focus only on the fighting. What a pity.

How about a real role playing game set in middle earth? The game should be 80% adventuring and 20% fighting.

The Best Game I Have Ever Played

This is an awesome game. Especially if you really like The Lord of the Rings like I do. Even if you are not into The Lord of the Rings you should still get it. The best thing about this game is that it has scenes from the movie. Sometimes when you start a mission the intro will be from a scene in either The Fellowship of the Ring or the Two Towers and then it will turn into animation and you will start playing. On a scale of 1-10 I would give the graphics an 8. You can play as Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli and all of them have awesome moves. All of them have some type of long-distance weapon. Aragorn and Legolas have bow-and-arrows and Gimli throws axes. Personally, I think Aragorn has the best moves. There are 3 levels of difficulty for those of you who are just too good. If you have the money and want another game for Gamecube buy this one. As my title says this is the best game I have ever played.
Tips:
1. If you get stuck on the Breached Wall as I did concentrate more on protecting the door than yourself. There will be plenty of health left behind when you kill all the enemies.
2. When you purchase the rising attack it says to push A when you are down to strike your enemies as you get up, but you can also push Y to do a more powerful attack as you regain your feet.
3. If you get stuck on Plains of Rohan at the part where there is burning wood blocking your way and the people get killed by the orcs what you do is shoot an arrow (or axe) at the bucket of water right behind the pile of burning wood and then break through the wood and the people will automatically run out.
4. If you get stuck on a level or just like to cheat there are codes at this link http://codes.ign.com/ob2/068/482/482166.html

Excellent Addition to the LotR Franchise

Ok, this game is terrific. I have been playing it for months, and am just now playing the last level. A word of warning level 11 will kill you!!! lol Anyways, this game is terrific, and in my opinion a better game than Return of the King, (which I beat a few times.) HIGHLY Reccomended.

LOTR: Two Towers, needed improvements, but still good!!

So you start off on The Fellowship of the Ring, which is a good idea, and they made made it quick. Then you go through the same events as in the two towers. I'm the kind of guy that rents games before i buy them, and i passed the whole game in one week, which ticked me off cause i thought it be longer. Don't get me wrong, the gameplay was one of the best i've seen. It surprised me that each character had their own different caulities that differs thm from each other, but it was just to easy. They tried to make the game longer by making you pass the game with each character, which i did except for Gimli(didn't want to waste my time with him). I thought they were going to make it more of an adventure game, and instead they made these sorry levels which were JUST TOO EASY. I got hooked playing it because it is fun and can get challenging at times, but they're too short. I recommend you play this game, the music is the best, and the gameplay is great. I liked the game, but don't waste 50 bucks on something you won't be using 2 weeks later.

Great...for a fighting game

If you are into an action-packed, stay-on-your-toes adventure, then this is the game for you. I've always been more into the quest/strategy (beginning and end...ya know-with challenges) type of game, but if youre just in the mood to go chop up orcs and trolls and such, then this game comes highly recommended. i did beat it, (and i'm a chick, too) but don't think that makes it easy.
P.s. you have to play this game in a room with heavy curtains and no lite-almost every level is so dark you can't see who youre fighting...what's up with that?

i think this game is a great reflection of the movie, if you are a beginner, wont worry this game is like a fighting game with missions. its wat it should be like and more. all in all this a great game. :-)

sincerely,
the gamer
(i just turned 11;-))

Legolas all the way...

i am some what of an idiot at fighting games and it's not because of my gender, but i manage to beat it in a weekend(on easy) with a lot of determination and bruised thumbs, it's a good thing. I was determined to beat it as Legolas, but the first time around i was stuck on the next to last stage. Aragon has a level advantage cuz of the first stage only he can play. But i started it again and got Legolas 2 levels higher than before and finally got to the last battle at helm's deep. It's extremely hard to kill trolls as an elf. but with the last arrow upgrade i could kill anything.
and on the Game Cube the yellow swirly stick is great. Legolas has so little hit points it's annoying, and in the movies he never gets hit and didnt fall all the time. i really dont give a damn about the other characters,
Aragon is stronger and pretty fast,
Gimli is slow and has an extremely short reach and just takes beatings well.
and the hidden level is fun but just plain easy when u get the secret character.
Legolas is so hot.
