Addictive....BUT.........

..........I own both the GameCube and the Nintendo Wii version's so here's a review from someone who has experienced both. I 1st brought the GameCube version because I have a GC & then I went 2 Target the next day & they had the Wii system so I brought it & brought the system and the Zelda Wii as well. I really didn't notice the difference with the graphics for either version. They both look pretty identical visually which is kind of sad considering Wii is suppose 2 be a new generation console. But then again most ports rarely add anything extra, since this is a GC original title. Anyways I'm gonna get right to the point I actually enjoyed the GC version better because I couldn't catch any FISH with that freaking Wii Nunchuk controller. So I popped in the GC version and I actually passed a few stages including the fishing stage. I knew the regular controller would be so much easier to catch fish then with the new nunchuk controller. While on the Wii version I'm still freaking stuck on the 1st stage trying 2 catch 2 fish. TRAGIC!!!!!! To sum things up the game is addictive but I prefer the GC version.

Wanted the Wii version...but!

I wasn't expecting to get my hands on this game yet. I was still waiting for my wallet to get fed so I can buy a Wii first. But for christmas I happened to receive this as a gift. The only Zelda game I played before this was the Wind Waker for Gamecube, so I do not relate to all the hypes associated with OoT. But still Wind Waker has been one of my favorite games of all time, so I had been wanting this game very much =]

First impression. Nice graphics and breathtaking music. Good trailer too. It is true that compared to the games released on more powerful consoles, TP looks a bit dated, but considering that it's been under development since 2003, and that it is for Gamecube, I think it really pushed the technical limitation of the current console. Music was composed by Koji Kondo, the same guy that composed all the Zelda/Mario music. So it was bound to be good, and it really was. My only complain is that most sound effects and music were in MIDI format. I suspect that inserting full orchestra music in .wmv format would not have fit into the tiny Gamecube disc, which only holds 1.5 GB of data compared to 4.7 GB of the standard sized DVD. But they could've nevertheless split the game into 2 discs, like a number of other GAmecube games did in the past.

Now moving on. The gameplay really started slow, but I liked it that way. It was a little bit frustrating when I could not get either the cat or the fishing rod, so I had to look up online for that. After that, the game moves on continuously in terms of plot and gameplay. You get new items, you turn into a wolf, you meet Zelda, you learn new abilities, you must save your friends, you must earn Goron's trust, and so forth.

The combat is a little bit on the easy side, but puzzles are hard so both avid gamers and new comers can enjoy this game alike. The finishing move you learn is really sweet, and combat system as a wolf is really fun as well. (Reminds me of Okami for PS2, please check that out too. A great game! No review from me though) My favorite fights are, however, on horseback. They're really great fun, for lack of a better word. I wish I have gotten the Wii version instead so I can actually swing the sword, but I think I'll live =]

What really humored me is the fact that, as a wolf, you can talk to other animals. I didn't know chickens could be that cocky in front of a wolf, or according to the light spirits, a blue-eyed creature. As a wolf, you must find alternate paths to enter houses, and I can't believe the developers actually pulled the weight to create a game where you visit one place twice but the experience is totally different, depending on whether you're in human form or the wolf.

What is even more surprising is that the game lasts over 60 hours, according to majority of professional reviewers and regular gamers alike. I can't still get over how large this game is. Luckily for you, you have a helper named Midna, a little girl with the powers of twilight, on your side, who can teleport you to various regions in an instant. Without her, I think it'd take about 30 minutes to 1 hour to just cross the Hyrule kingdom on foot, but I've never tried so I wouldn't really know. =P

I am into the 9th hour mark now, and in the 2nd temple in the game which is the fire temple. The experience has been flawless until now, and I suspect that it will only get better from now on, as Link learns new abilities and obtain new items. If you have a Wii, congratulate yourself and get this right now! If you don't, and if you have a gamecube, get this right now! If you have neither systems, get Wii and get this right now! I'm serious.

Just awesome...

This game is by far one of the best that I've played to date. I own all the Zelda games (save for the ones for CD-i) and have beaten them all in full. I have found this game to be, so far, the most fun of them all. For some reason it seems that the dungeons aren't as hard as they were in Oracina of Time, but that might just be me. But the dungeons aren't the only fun part of this game. I was engaged during the entire game play. The music is amazing, the cinematics (what few of them they have because the entire game looks like one) were beautiful. I can't find anything wrong with this game. If you decide to buy this game, for either the Wii or the Gamecube you will most likely think that it's going by too fast, perhaps that you are nearing the end too quickly, because it seemed like that to me...Yet it kept going. There is so much length to this game that I am constantly amazed. Areas that I thought were just buildings turning into dungeons and everything being worth it till the end. You'll love this game, I assure you. I play a lot of games, this one tops them all. You'll even want to do the silly side-quests that you probably think aren't worth your time. There always seems to be a point to all of it. Never before have I seen a game like this.

My Favorite Zelda game so far!

I've always loved Zelda games. My favorite was always "Ocarina of Time".
untill this one hit the shelves.

It feels just like Ocarina of Time ((it;s hard to explain))

I LOVE THIS ONE! It has much better grapgics than Ocarina of Time, and the weapons have upgrated into a way that when you use them, you can "feel" their power. it's hard to explain, and sounds stupid, but it does feel that way.

So if your favorite Zelda game has always been Ocarina of time, you'll love this one.

if not, still try it out because it's really fun, and you'll send around 40 hours playing.
no joke, that's how long it took me.

Zelda: The Twilight Princess...best Zelda Yet!

So I was a little dissapointed when I could not find this game online for less than 60.00. The day it was released I went to wal-mart (who said they were not going to get it for a couple of weeks) had 10 copies of it that were 49.95, needless to say I bought it that night. I am very impressed with this game, the graphics, music, dungeons, and the extensive land of Hyrule makes this the best Zelda ever. I have Ocrina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Windwaker, and I loved all of those, but this one blows them all away. Thanks nintendo, for giving us gamecube lovers, one of the best gamecube games to date.

This game is totally incredible at first I didn't think it will be better than Ocarina, but its way better it starts by following the same formula that made Ocarina great, but then adds its own mix on things. The story is just amazing, I just can't stop playing it, can't wait to see how it unfolds in the end.

Midna is so funny with sarcastic comments, and Link is a more mature hero, I just hope he could talk.

Awww, good times.

After playing this game since Christmas, I found that the game has suddenly swept me back to Orcarina of Time/Master Quest. (Which I specialy ordered off of Amazon.com for my Gamecube.)

While a lot of people are comparing this game to Wind Walker, (which is a mere "joke" compared to Twilight Princess) T.P seems to pick up after Majora's Mask, after Link finished his epic quest in Majora and is now a teenager/adult. Hyrule changed... A LOT! But it still packs the punch, and has MUCH more then Orcarina. You are still hit with the same/slightly-altered tune when the sun comes up, and night is no longer silent, but haunting and beautiful. T.P is what I've been looking for ever since I first picked up the control for N-64, Golden Cartridge when O.O.T was brand new.

[Side-Notes]
-Navi/Midna: Midna is pretty cool, and brinks the heroic Link to heel. Her cockiness really brings some shine to the game.

-Updated Epona: Epona is no longer that cutter little red horse we use to know. She is more realistic, and is more horse then cow.

-No Shiek? Well, no. But Zelda certainly got a new look.

Anyhow, if your an old fan of Zelda or new, then you'll absolutly love this game!

Very fun but not best

Twilight Princess was overall a very fun game and all should enjoy it. Though, it was a little short and simple. Most of the puzzles wern't as hard as they should have been, and the dunguens were way too short. But, I would still highly recommend this game to anyone, because it had great graphics, an amazing storyline, and was really fun. The only game better than it was the classic N64 Ocarina of Time.

Once again, The Best Shames the Rest!

Believe the hype: when I began watching and playing the Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess on my Game Cube, I couldn't believe that this was a Game Cube game. By and far, nothing compares to it in graphics, but more importantly like in every Nintendo game it's the quality aspects of the game that make it shine.

Not much as changed in terms of storyline as the ever-forward Legend of Zelda continues to go forward. Once again Link eventually finds that in order to save the land of Hyrule, he must save Zelda, and he must do so by conquering the most elaborate of puzzles and tough, broad enemies. Many enemies are from games old; others are totally new. The weapons Link can also inherit as the game goes on have their moments, such as the Ball and Chain. An old favorite, the oil lantern, makes a return and becomes an essential tool, not just there for eye candy.

The other difference to game play is the transformation into Wolf form. At first you have no control over when you transform, but later in the game you can transform at will to achieve goals and gain advantages in certain situations. You can 'memorize' scents, dig for hears and rupees and even underground enemies, and with your enhanced senses see things in NightVision-like visuals that you can't see with your normal eyes, such as missing statues and poes.

Visual the game is what the Wind Waker was supposed to be before Nintendo abandoned it. Graphically, even for a Game Cube game, this game impresses with detail and each character with their own facial movements as well as unique body types. Though there really isn't any voice acting in this, the artists and programmers once again convey great silent movie emotion from the characters during cut scenes: there are more scenes in this that rival the famous cut scene from the N64 Ocarina of Time when Link leaves his village for pure emotion. A lot of the controller layout is the same from the N64 on through to this game, but with the change of putting the Items control on the D-Pad with the Map, separating it from the Start/Pause button. A few times I hit the Start button to change things, which you can't and it gets annoying, but that's me not adapting to the layout.

To date I have been playing it everyday and I'm not bored with it. Every time a Zelda game comes out it always rates high in quality and this does not disappoint. A great game. A Must Have!

This is the best game ever made for Gamecube. This is alot better than all the other Zelda games which are all good but this one is awesome. Be sure and get the guide book that comes with it or you will be stuck on some parts of the game.
