Good Game

This is a good game, although it's a bit overrated. The pets are cute and interact really well (there seem to be a lot of strays..)and the new items are cute. There are cool new little towns where you can go to get a cup of coffee or something, but they all seem to be the same. The game takes a long time to load up (or maybe it's just my computer..) and it's a bit choppy (probably my computer..) but overall it's a good game and if you want pets you should definitley get it. The skins are good, and there are new heads that are really cute/hot/ugly. LoL. I would've rated it a 4 1/2 but I can't.

Best Sims Yet!

This is absolutely the best Sims expansion pack yet! It's so great to be able to have pets...and your sims will become even easier to please because social interaction with the pets seems to get you further than interaction with other sims. The pets show up as members of your sim family and have needs just like other sims. The new items that come with it are a ton of fun, too. My girlfriend and I haven't been able to stop playing since we got it (which is pretty pathetic if you think about it).

Best Expansion Pack Yet

This is the best expansion pack yet, with much more than just new skins and pets...now the Sims world really starts to take shape--go shopping, take your pet out to the park, create a real neighborhood, not just a group of houses!

This expansion pack is worth every penny and I am looking forward to many hours of designing and zoning. Now, to get the world expanded even more--take Unleashed and blend it into SimCity and boom--the SimWorld will be at our fingertips!

Brought back the fun

I had gotten bored with The Sims. Having all the expansion packs I still didn't find anything that would keep me hooked on the game, until Unleashed came out. I have been busy trying to maintain a garden (almost a full time job for one sim), advance in my job and keep social points up. The best is having a pet. So far I only have experience with the cats (only because they don't have ferrets) but love being able to have a pet. I have run into some bugs though, and after removing the game and all E.P.'s and reinstalling all is well. I had already had to start over a few months ago during a reformat of my hard drive, so did not lose much progress in the way of households. I realize now that part of what I thought were bugs, were actually just me trying to use some things (gardening) wrong. I am enjoying the game a lot and look forward to many hours with it. Looking forward to The Sims Online, but already being a member of a wonderful virtual community (VZones) online I will reserve comments until I actually see The Sims Online.

Good but buggy....

I really like a lot of the ideas in this expansion pack, but it has some major bugs that make the game harder to play. My least favorite bug was once I bought a cat, I could no longer sit and watch television at the same time! This really makes keeping fun and comfort ratings up very difficult. I wish Maxis would come out with a patch for this. I also have a bug where the maid will clean the shower for about eight hours straight, keeping my sims from being able to use it!

Fun But ...........

Many a moons ago I was a Sim junkie but it's time to let the Sims take a ride into the Sunset.Nothing has really changed only your child now has four legs and makes poop piles on your floor.Anymore expansions they should throw a new system in with it.No problems running on Windows 98 just the normal sim bugs.If you love your Sims then buy it and get the book.

My Favorite Expansion yet!!!

I own all the expansion packs and this one has to be my favorite! You get to choose from dogs, cats, birds, and reptiles. The pets are fun to interact with but remember to start out with one especially if you get a dog. The dog requires a lotta time to house break and teach new tricks and obedience. Like another gamer said, start out with cat first...they require much less care and come already house broken which is a plus. Not only do you get new pets but it also comes with new objects such as a New Orleans design for a house, new cabinets, a new fridge, and new lighting. You will also be impressed with the new downtown area. And lastly you can now grow your own vegetables. You can create a garden and plant all kinds of veggies...even your puppy will help with er...."watering the plants" if ya get my drift! A must have game for a true SIM fan!!!

I loved the Sims when they first came out. I played all the time (OK, so I didn't have kids then) and couldn't get enough. However, my favorite part of the Sims games has always been creating the people and building the houses. I loved the Livin' Large expansion, because it added all sorts of new fun things for the houses and character building. I sort of got bored by Hot Date, though - as with several other reviewers, it really slowed down the game on my computer. I also wish Maxis would do something about the time/need factor when you go downtown or to Old Town - don't plan on going to work after a date or a shopping spree.

That said, Unleashed is fun! I said early on - probably with the original game - "Why don't they have pets?" The pets are cute, very helpful for social needs, and also a lot of fun to play with. The vegetable garden is also kind of fun. If you grow the veggies, then store them in a "pantry", your Sims eat for free! There are still more new items, skins, wallpaper, etc., which I love because that's my favorite part of the game. I also like that there are tons more houses/lots for each neighborhood - more to build!

If you like Hot Date, you'll love the Old Town portion of this expansion. I only give it four stars because of the slowness of the game, and the fact that I personally don't enjoy the shopping/dating portion of the game quite so much.
