Too many expansion packs!

The first two or three Sims games were AMAZING. I totally loved them, playing until all hours of the night. But when they started releasing all these new expansion packs, and I got each one as it came out, my computer had some digestion problems, so to speak. Now, it takes about fifteen minutes to load the game, and at least twenty to go to Vacation Island, Old Town, etc. When I'm in any of those places, my Sims move jerkily, and the screen jumps around. If I try to scroll too fast, the game either crashes or goes in slow motion. It takes my Sims at least three game hours to do anything, so I have to wake them up at 12 midnight if I hope to get them to school. All in all, I'd say to stay small and avoid all these fancy expansion packs! The pets aren't that great, and you could grow vegetables with downloads already!

Pets in exchange for irriation

I was looking forward to the ability to have pets for my Sims, and was excited when I first installed Unleashed. It ran slow, very slow, but I was not as bothered by that as I was the fact the game spontanously crashed when I tried to purchase my first pet, and took out all my other Sims expansions with it! I had to reinstall the WHOLE set again, the second time I tried to install Unleashed (after an 1 hr and 1/2 reinstalling the OTHER sims) it refused citing errors, and I had to once more remove every expansion do a complete wipe of the games, and directory and start from pure scratch. After this it worked, still slow, but I was able to buy my first pet(though I was ticked to have lost all my families and having to start the game from scratch). Still I was looking forward to getting a pet so I eagerly went to buy my first one. I must say I am unimpressed with the variety of colors and breeds in the pets. The strays are irraiting as well as they come into your house and pee on your lawn/house/sidewalk. But after having two cats, one boy one girl I found out something rather cool, the pets can have babies! So that made it all worth while, though you never get to see them as kittens (darnit), still the fact they can have babies is a cool event. If you want your Sims to have pets this is the way to go, just be prepared for some headaches, and stray exterminations. =)

The Sims Unliked

When the Sims first came out it was amazing. I thought life couldn't get better. With each expansion pack my thoughts toward this loved game are dwindling though. Hot Date was the first expansion pack that bored me. It seemed to be very difficult to maintain each need of my Sims and still take them downtown, which was fun but not as fun as it could have be if the Sims were allowed to not only to buy items on their own but if there social interactions were loosened allowing Sims to interact better with each other. There just seemed to be no action unless a Sim who was a friend or above with another Sim was friendly to a different Sim, which in turn only got the response of a slap. Vacation was a nice change, a little more options and it was nice to be able to sleep and raise energy levels to you didn't have to run home every three hours (which go by fast in Simville)to get your stuff together to come back. I loved treasure hunting and fishing! Unleashed is really fun, has the animals and all but I am experiancing so many problems with this expansion I can't begin. The bugs are enormus. For example, I find that whenever I throw a party or one of my neighbors/friends goes into the backyard or outside after having already entered the house they are stuck and I have to delete them. I had to delete one of my Sims children once as well, which was bothersome. I also sense fires happen a lot more when cooking. If you have a fire alarm it seems to be ok, they are saved but they constantly lose hygiene and it's irratating to have them spend half of the Sim day reading a book to get one point. I agree with so many of the suggestions that other users are giving. This game has so much potential but I am afraid my patience is running thin and I would like to see the Maxis team spend more time on bugs and making the game more real. We are WAY past it being a exciting new way to look at Role Playing, now that they have captured ppl's attention they need to expand the original thought of the Sims, not just by adding more items. Make them more versitile and give them reality, make the day go by as it should, allow the kids to grow as well as pets. AND FIX THE UNLEASHED BUGS!!!!!! Before I scream.

Unleashed is coming and I can't wait any longer

Unleashed is coming out in September! It's not soon enough! Unleashed will let you choose from dogs, cats, fish, birds and other animals. You can also go to a vegetable market and buy seed to grow your own food and make a living. You can also sell this food to make a profit. If you do not take care of your new pet it can make your life a disaster. (no need to explain!) Go to a restaurant to meet new people with pets too! Have fun!

the best expansion pack yet

The sims unleashed is my favorite expansion pack thus far, and I have all of them except for hot date. A whole town is made with shops and parks and places where you can adopt animals or buy smaller ones.

The pets are adorable. They really increase the mood of your sims, too. There is a new pet section in the stuff you can buy, and in my opinion there is not enough. That is the only downfall of this game.

Unlike houseparty, its not jerky for me..but that is probably just my computer. It runs smoothly considering all of the new things it has.

I'm very pleased with it overall. It's definately worth the money.

It's about time!

As an animal lover, having 2 cats and 2 birds, I have been waiting for pets for my Sims ever since I became a Sim-addict! This definately adds a new dimention to the game that will keep you and your Sims busy. In addition, the ability to grow your own garden of veggies is cool! You can live off the food and/or sell it! AND all the additional objects for your Sim home are definately a plus. All around one of (if not THE) best expansion packs!

The Sims is my favorite PC game!!*_*

Sometimes, I enjoy playing Playstation, but I like Sims better. It helps me learn more a bout saving money. Sometimes, I do a cheat to get lots of money but I don't use that so much because the game is about using money and life time, not about getting cheats to win. But if you want to know the cheat, I may tell you. First, in the middle of the game, you press the Shift key, the control key,(Ctrl) and the C button. Then, you write "rosebud" to start and then !;!;!; (keep on doing it). If you one to get money MORE faster, you press !;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;1 ( keep on doing the same thing and at the last part, you do a 1.)

I like getting pets especially when the family in the house is bored and quiet. My favorite part of the game is, buying pets. shopping and building buildings. I usually name the pets in regular dog names. I also like big and fancy houses with a BIG back ground. Once, I had 4 birds, 4 iguanas and four of each pet. (Good thing I learned english to understand the game!)

At the first time I played Sims, I thougt there were no actions and I didn't know that much english. So, i made fire in the house a lot of time. Then years of practicing, I became better and better. Now, I don't have space to build stuff!

Excellent game

They lost me with Vacation. I strongly disliked that expansion pack. But, they did a really nice job with this one. It is a bit buggy (try placing a sim in the shower before you add the expansion pack!). I have only had the game for a couple of days, but I am hooked. Adding a pet to the mix gives my sims something else to do and someone to take care of. My cat runs to greet his "master" when she gets home. I think this pack brought us back to the original thought behind the sims - running a neighborhood and building up the lives of families - and I for one am thankful for it!
